    I’m sure you’ve finished this up but I’m looking to do a jack aghast so came across this video. If you put the shaft into the freezer for an hour it would likely slide in the gear as far as you need without using a hammer. Do it with my motorcycle steering stem when putting bearings in.

    Couldnt you just mount a sprocket to the clutch assembly?

    The part you don't know where it goes is called a lock collar . It goes where the shaft may walk to the right. Right side of Big sprocket all the way over to the frame.

    Have you ever thought about putting a bigger sprocket on the jackshift? You could leave the smaller sprocket on the left but where it has a small sprocket on the right put a much bigger sprocket and extend the chain so it'll go around both sprockets on the right. Should make the bike go a lot faster with the motor having lower rpm

    Tape it of and use scotch Brite put the shaft into a 1" drill or .75 I am sure the shaft is 5/8 and spin it while holding the scotch Brite on the shaft should remove enough to make a smooth install could also heat the sprocket some

    Good night. It would be great if we had these two engine mounts that hold the shaft that transfers the force to the other side. Like, they contoured on some A4 sheets, each support on a sheet, for pdf so we can make our own supports. Think about the partner idea. It would help us a lot in the shaft adaptation process via email. Thanks for the attention

    Um the larger sprocket goes to the engine side the smaller goes to the pedal side unless you want the engine to constantly stall because the way your setting it up is way to tall of gearing also you could get yourself a drill duck tape the shaft to the drill use 120- 220 grit sand paper spin the shaft while holding the sand paper it will take a thou off the sprockets will be able to slide freely

      Chamfer edge
      A chamfer is a transitional edge between two adjoining right-angled faces of an object, usually a table or mirror. Created at a 45-degree angle, it is meant to ease otherwise sharp edges, for appearance, safety and to prevent damage.

    Sadly I keep hearing jack shaft kits suck and see few people using them.... I wish China would make a Simson S51- 50cc 2 stroke scooter engine clone that could mount on bike. (has a 3 speed gearbox)

    • @Thrashaero
      @Thrashaero 3 роки тому +2

      I find them utterly pointless, why all this extra parts for what is already on the bike, the bottom bracket and crank. All that really needs to be made is chainring sprocket with freewheel hub made for left side of crank instead of right. Boom all done.

    • @michaelbrinks8089
      @michaelbrinks8089 3 роки тому +1

      @@Thrashaero Never thought of that...Makes me wonder if anything would prevent it from working well... Before I was thinking a 3 speed internal geared hub with a fixed/single speed for the right pedal side. If possibly a 3 speed hub with a little machining and some parts flipped around could be easily converted.
      If someone could build a cheap easy kit to add a couple gears to these engines, they'd sell a ton of em.

    • @Thrashaero
      @Thrashaero 3 роки тому +2

      @@michaelbrinks8089 well the more i think about it the chief problem is the pedals and having them engage only in forward at the same time motor can engage left crank chainring to crank axle, then to right sprocket, without engaging pedals. i think it might call for a freewheel hub within a freewheel hub on left side at least, or maybe even a solid crank axle within a tube crank axle, either way isn't easy to come up with ready to use parts so far, but i think its definitely an option that part makers should consider

  • @Thrashaero

    I hate to be that guy, but why go through all this hell just to use what's essentially already on the bike, the bottom bracket/crank?
    What is restriction from putting the sprocket connected to crank on the left side so it goes directly to motor? Of course there is freewheel hub direction problem, but that is it I think?
    It would be much better than all this extra axle, bearings, sprockets, flanges just to route drive to right side , which is already done with the bottom bracket and crank axle.
    Just use left side like stock setup does on left side of wheel, except move to left side of crank with a hub that will alow freewheel in correct direction.
    But maybe I am clueless and just full of shit which wouldn't be unusual.

    • @Thrashaero
      @Thrashaero 3 роки тому +2

      ok so those of you scoffing i know it's not as simple as i just said it would be, it would require 2 axles in coaxial format, where center axle is for pedals, inside a one wheel bearing or freewheel that engages with a tube axle around that, tube axle also connected to sprockets on both sides so it's requiring hardware with special dimensions or even oversized bottom bracket from a special frame or welded in place of course that's a pain in the ass but overall concept is still able to be acheived

      Dude!! That’s actually smart as fuck… just flip everything to the left side and I believe that called euro style. You can find these parts on J and R bicycles I’ve rode a bike with everything on the left before.

      @@OlszkoolCustoms I wasnt trying to cut you down, but those jackshaft kits can be dangerous. And there are so many pieces in the mix that weren't designed to work together, as the speeds climb, so does the danger. And truthfully, big power engines have come on the scene, there is really no need for jackshaft's. Bigger power will spin a smaller rear gear, so now the speed is there.....Be Safe.

    lock washers don't "dig in", They exert a spring tension that keeps the fastener from vibrating loose. so it pushed on everything, keeping it all tight! 🥸
