I enjoy your videos, commentary and opinions. No joke. Makes perfect sense. The #7 Swiss brand (Longines) should learn from the #43 Swiss brand (Oris). I personally think the whole in house thing is wildly overrated

I agree with you. And also, you get more watchmakers to be able to repair or adjust many more watch brands if they have similar parts and designs
Longines is the brand before Omega in Swatch Group, in poisitionning and in sales. It sit where Swatch Groupe put it, I don't think there is a need for them to do any moves. Longines is performing extremely well. Oris is indepedant therefore they are more whiling to innovate and evovle has a brand without behind held back by Group structure of decision making. Oris has rise prices of entry level, making no changes at all, in order to pay R&D for there caliber. Facing the same issue as other brand when it came to perceived value and real value by specs. Maybe Swatch Group will make moves if sales slow down and if study customer interest prove they need to improve mouvements. I like both brands, lately I like Longines more for the Conquest Heritage Central Power reserve and Spirit Zulu Time titanium, I'm looking forward to try this last. The question for me is more like, what Oris has to do to make people choose them over Longines on 4k mark, there Caliber 400 can shine and Logines couldn't care less because there have sold millions. Thank you for the video man, always interesting to listen and think of.
