My first print (benchy) is about 30 min in - followed your video for initial set up and calibration...super helpful - thanks!!
6 years later i got a free crs10 and used this for reference on the setup. Thanks a ton for the help
That was much needed information. Thank you, sir.
I'm currently awaiting my first printer (CR-10S) to come with the mail. Hopefully next week.
So excited!
finally someone who explains everything step by step, THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO
Just assembled a CR-10 that bought used, last night, will try my first print it tonight with your settings. great video, easy to follow.
Awesome Video for beginners! I'm using 3 different 3d printers, but I wish I had such a video as I get my first printer! Not to many informations about 3d printing. Just the important facts for beginners. I like it!
Very well put together. Focused on all the important parts and stuck to the point, exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks!
Thank you so much for your tutorial! very easy to follow, you made things very clear and I am finally printing my first project! keep up the good work!
Great video. First detailed video for beginners. So many videos skip so many steps and leave beginners lost
Your video was very helpful. This CR-10 is my first 3d printer. Thanks for the info.
Super helpful video. Using your video for my 12th grade 3D Printing class!
Your video is the best one I have found for a beginner. Thank you!
I love you!!! I’ve been looking around everywere and noone exept you got me to understand how things work. Thanks!!!
This was incredibly helpful. Thanks a ton, my first 3DBenchy came out damn near perfect.
The in depth explanation of how to print was super helpful.
Now I can't wait to get my printer. Thanks for making the first time print not so scary. lol (Subscribed)
Thank you! Your the only video that actually explained
Well, printer came in and followed your set up...Thanks for all the info. It took a bit to get the heating tray right. Heating nozzle kept clogging as I tried the benchy. Then the tape I used as the adhesive worked for a few minutes, but the boat came loose.
Though not sure if it was due to the tape or the buildup on the nozzle tip that knocked it off 🤔 but will keep trying 🙂
Tanz what did you end up doing? I’m currently running into this problem XD
Calibration ? what calibration ???
Thank you for the video it was very helpful. But I still had a lot of difficulty as my nozzle got clogged up, the extruder gear started to grind my filament and the resulting prints had severe under extrusion. After cleaning my nozzle several times and the same thing happened again and again I finally found that my filament required 220 C printing temperature to work properly. I would just say that setting up the nozzle temperature higher for the first prints makes it easier to find out all the other settings that are wrong too.
I can't thank you enough for this post! I was pulling my hair out about what I was doing wrong with my brand new CR10 S5. Raising the nozzle temp to 220 solved all my problems. Didn't help that the test print that came with the printer was set at a temp of 200 and the filament that also came with the same printer apparently needs 220. Thanks!
Finally, clear bullshit-less instructions. Thank you
Thank you! Setting works for my printer. No more failed prints! At last found this easy to follow guide video for newbie like me. Such a big help
Awesome vid. I just ordered a CR-10 and this will really help me a lot. Thanks
Just got my first printer - dude this was a world of help. thanks!
This video was crazy helpful, and the only one I got useful info from out of a ton of other videos!
Great video. I'm printing my first 3D model right now, and it seems to work fine. Thanks a lot. :)
I have an issue where when I select Auto Home the nozzle pushes down on the build surface considerably. As this is my first 3D printer I don’t know how to change the Z axis to a new default value. I also don’t know what changing the nozzle offset means or does.
Adjust the height of he bed with the 4 adjustment screws. Also, you can move the z axis limit switch up a little.
Really appreciate this video! Thanks man!
I am having some trouble with my printing on this. I am going to move it to a table and tighten up the bed wheels, check the belts and try your leveling method then print again. I can send you some examples if that would help, maybe you know whats wrong.
What would happen if parts were off?(ex. nozzle wasn't .1 mm, belt was loose, plate wasn't tight)
After setting mine up I can see a dual Z axis screw is an advantage, the 2 sides will move up and down more evenly. I ordered one from Alibaba express.
Yuo need to adjust the excentric pern of the x axes
You fixed my printer..thank you!!
my printer just started printing, cant wait till its done
Wow, this was super helpful!
thanks for the tips! it is so much easier than like 4 years ago!!! it took me 20 minutes from box to 1st print ! and the base seems to be perfect ! ( at least for a beginner ). i got exitied as hell seeing it for the 1st time :D
thank you, concise and informative.
This is an amazing video, thank you so much. I hope this gets shared around a lot
Thank you for this concise tutorial! Complete noob with no idea on anything 3D print. I had my printer (CR-10 V3) for nearly a week without printing anything and this guided me every step of the way on my first 3D print. My first benchy looks amazing. Really smooth sides and no distortions. Q: Those settings you provided before you sliced are for this specific print? Or is this a general baseline for most 3D prints?
I continue to pop error codes directly out of the box. I was able to print the test boat just fine. After two small test prints off of thingiverse, I can't print anything else. I get "nozzle heating not as expected" and "Key:3000 unknown exception"
I've had this model for two weeks. It will pass the self tests, but continues to pop the Key:3000 nozzle heating not as expected"
This is my first printer and I'm at a loss. The creality website has 4 error codes, and nothing related to this issue.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
12:06 While setting it up, and person that was over said he was going to level the bed. In reality I believe he changed some settings because the Y aces will not auto home. It auto homes the right way for the X and Z aces, but not the Y. It’s in the middle of the Y aces and when you manually move it, it will not go forward past the middle of the Y aces. But when I manually dial it for the middle of the board, it’s at the very back edge of the Y aces. If I try to go past that even further it stops and makes a grinding noise. Do you know how to fix this? 12:06
The first thing I printed was a preinstalled cat stl from Creality for my CR-10 which printed just fine in the center of the bed, but when I downloaded an stl from Thingiverse and tried to print, it started printing from the home position. Any idea on how I can make it print in the center. I tried with two different stls, and the same thing happened. I cancelled the prints so I don't know it they would have come out correct. I didn't want to waste the PLA. I tried another preinstalled from Creality, and that one printed just fine in the center. All four stls were in the center of the bed on the preparation screen.
hey man I've looked everywhere and I can't figure out how to do this. I have raised the bed, tightened the springs, clamped the bed down lower, etc. But i have still yet to figure out why the nozzle will not auto stop .11 mm above the bed. It always hits the bed no matter what I do. please help.
Hi my cr-10 says its at 210 but its not and won't melt pla because the hotend is not actually hot enough, iv replaced the hole hotend, heat element and thermistor as still not working if its something inside of the control box can you tell me what needs replacing or what to look for and how so I can fix it please
but how about the center? It is still too close to the bed in the center and I can not figure out how to fix that. Every time I print, even tho the 4 corners are a paper thickness apart, it scraps on the board when it prints.
Just got a CR-10S to aid in my printing of Covid face shields. This video was of great help, but I am having issues. My auto home is not functioning properly. The head comes to the front of the build plate, but not to the left corner. It comes to the front at whatever left to right position it started from. I have checked and unplugged all cables to no avail. Do you have any experience with this and any tips?
3d benchy is currently being printed its kinda satisfying watching it lol
Can't wait till I receive mine 🙌
Can I change the home position because when I try to level the printer the nozzle hits the bed because it can’t go down any further should I get a new bed?
Hello, me and my dad are having a little trouble with my new CR-10 MINI we did everything correct (or so we think so) and I’m here trying I print but it just keeps going off of the heating bed. Like it just wonders off and I don’t know why could you maybe help a little bit. Please and thank you
Make sure the bed size and home position is correct in the slicer.
3D Now hi I would like to say thank you! I realized that we had the X cord and the E cord switched up and now we are printing! Yet again thank you!
9:48 I'm having SO much difficulty feeding this filament through. The nozzle is heated to 195 but nothing comes out!
hey i've just recently got the cr-10 and 2 things I need to fix
1. when it prints it doesn't print the bottom letters on the benchy and I check in cura if its working and it looks fine
2. after a couple of days the z motor has stopped moving up and down when it print so when I start the print it does the first layer but doesn't move up when it starts the second but I use the move axis setting to move it with the control panel and it works
Well, good preparation indeed is half the work... thanks to your "tutorial", my first print is now well underway, and without any hitches, (so far, that is.....) Thanks!
Y axis is making clicking noise when setting home and doesn't seem to be hitting y axis stopper all the way.
can you help me plese, my driver print 3D CR-10 andefine me to remove that. can i download driver couse web suport is not available it? or can i ask you for help me give copy your driver print 3D CR 10?
could you please help me? when i save to removable drive and put it in the printer it does not show my file. only models it shows are dog.gcode pig.gcode and cat.gcode
Hi, Im having Troubles to Download Cura software on my Mac
Ok been following this, my item keeps slipping on the bed....do i put anything on the glass? i have the metal base bed, then paper on top, then the glass....is that right?
Ever have an issue where cura doesn't move the zaxis up. Other slicers work
We just got the CR-10S. We are trying to print the cat that is already n the file. It is printing with tiny holes in it. We’ve set it up a few times, trying to troubleshoot. Any ideas?
I have a problem. I´m leveling my CR10 and everything is perfekt. When Printer starts printing, the z-achses is to high. About 3 mm to high. So it starts printing on air. Cant understand why. Any idea guys?
Good video. I needed one like this to start my printer.
Hello, I have a Creality CR-10 with dual z axis motors. The z axis goes up and down when homing but will not go up when printing. Is it the machine or am i doing something wrong in Cura ?
That's a mighty fine Benchy. WHY DOESN'T MINE LOOK LIKE THAT!?
mine print keeps on having elephants foot, also the bed leveler on the far left side doesn't go up as high as the other 3. any fix to that
thank you for the great video!
Not all of the wheels in my cr10s bed came with tightening screws, is this normal? :( only three of them
Dude, Thank You!!!
Hey im trying to Auto home but my printer isn't reacting at all. Does anyone know the solution?
supa thanks for the video!!!
I have a few questions. Why remove the plastic from the printer at all? It seems to be a wasted step. Is there something wrong with the CR10? I own a Trinus and I have never removed the PLA after any print. It has always been fine. Has not hurt the tip for over 2 years. Also when you turn off the printer it will cool down on its own without electricity. Is there some reason that you have to instruct the machineto cool down? I have ordered the CR10s to make bigger prints and the reviews are great on this machine. It does not look like it will be as easy to use as my Trinus but not to complicated.
Thank you! Incredibly helpful!
I just bought a Creality cr 10 S And wondering what your flow speed Hass to be at when you are printing I have to turn mine up to 300 to make a decent print but I don’t think that’s normal
After my first print i didnt take the PLA out or cool the machine down. Now im trying to print again and having trouble with the material coming out properly. Do I need to clean the nozzle somewhere? its fine when i heat up and push material out but when i print its not really coming through.
Heyy!! My print came out kinda stringy... I used the same setting for the temperature that’s specified on the filament, should I lower it?
super helpful!!
Isn’t the whole point of bench supposed to be without supports
Is the calibration that you showed only for the benchy? Also, what should the Z axis height show at the very beginning of the print? It homes to zero. When the first layer is printer, should it still be at zero?
Check out this updated video: ua-cam.com/video/Vvp8whpRkw4/v-deo.html
I just got my CR 10s and I've leveled the bed, but once I start printing, the extruder just produces spagetti. It looks like the nozzle starts printing when it's a little high on the z axis. How do I correct this?
ua-cam.com/video/Vvp8whpRkw4/v-deo.html
Ok but my cr 10 s has a problem with the mossfed which won't let the beds temp to rise. How do I fix that?
Check the connection in the control box. A cable may be loose
@@3DNow thank you for the info😇
mine is doing this too! it won't start printing, but connections are good
@@connorgrow7794 hope I could help😇
How do you print directly over mini USB cable? Card reader is loose, does not hold card.
I made a whole video about that.
How do I change the height of the nozzle? It's digging into the tape whenever I print and it's kinda annoying to replace all that wasted tape
does it come with a sd and sd adapter
Hi I just got the Cr-10 V2 and i've got all this down but for every print it prints a 1.11 mm base then the actual print on top of it, I was wondering if there was a way to get rid of this or tweak it so its only 1mm. It get complicated especially when you have to color change at a certain z axis height and its different from what it say because the 1.11mm base.
Hey thank you so much! Great content!
I have a question... I start to print but it gets about quarter of the way and the print completly moves so its ruined. I played around with nozzle temp and bed temp. I cannot figure it out and I cannot find anything on the web.
Hi there, I have followed your guide but a couple of the options in the settings menu are missing in cura print settings. so I'm curious if that'll cause issues.
Great video but I cant get the nozzle low enough on the center of the build plate? The axis is at 0.
I know you put this up a few years ago, but I’m hoping you can help. With my cr-10 every time I print I need to go in the tuning menu and set the filament feed to 200, is there a way to permanently set this feed ?
My printer says print from TF instead of print from SD?
Mine is showing that it will take 6 hours to print the 3dbenchy, so I know something is not set correctly.
can someone help me my printer is ready but the nozzle is too high up when I calibrated it. What should I do
Adjust the z axis endstop switch or screw that hits the switch.
@@3DNow Sorry if I am being complicated but how do I do that?
It really depends on your printer, but usually there is a switch that a screw hits as it is moving down to the bed. You have to adjust that.
@@3DNow tysm it worked
So one of my nobs that you use to bed level on the Cr-10s doesn't work right. It spins a bunch and doesn't tighten up like all the rest. Could someone please help me if you know what's
wrong. Thanks
Also, using canvas, how do I get it to start printing in the middle of the bed, instead of at the Home spot - front left corner?
Can you print PCL and add also a preheat PCL function on the screen?
Do I have to do something to freely move any of the axis?
very helpful video
I just bought a CR-10 (500x500x500mm) I assembled it the best i could, I'm left with a "Z" & "Filament Dectector" wire/connector, I'm not seeing a location as to where these connectors go.. any advice? thank you ------ thumbs up
I was missing the Z connector on the other side- so that is fixed. The “ Filament Detector” that has a place or no?
Hiii! got my hands on a 3d printer myself (750 euro)
But everytime i try to print: it goes crazy and spills all filament orrr starts way to high (i know bed leveling)
can you please help? it randomly starts at the side too instead of the middle🤯🙄😥
It tends to go too fast i think??
It does not stay on the bed
what about the pre loaded samples that come with printer do I need to go to a cura program first
No, not for those
Hi! Great Video. Can you post the settings you used for on cura for the PLA for you print? Thanks
I just used the default cura settings with 2 outer shells, 195c extruder, 60c bed, 15 percent infill, 2 top and bottom layers, and 60 mm/s speed
Does this apply to the cr-10 mini as well? Thank you!
The micro-SD card reader went straight in the trash. It got really hot in such a very short time. Use an adapter.
Bad info, leaving the machine every 20 minutes or so. These printers generate tons of heat. Installing cameras on these to keep an eye on them. Are the cameras gonna extinguish any possible fires??
Whenever I press auto home, the z axis doesn't go down, it just moves up slightly.
Make sure all the axis are plugged in correctly.
@@3DNow I double checked and they are
