  • On the 27th of December 2014 Qantas scheduled its final Boeing 767 flight after 29 years of service in the fleet. The specially numbered flight QF767 was from Melbourne to Sydney scheduled to depart at 5pm and was operated by VH-OGL. On board were over 200 avgeeks, staff, former staff/crew and frequent flyers. It was a fabulous occasion and there was even a proposal on board. We also spent about 30 minutes doing low level flyovers of the Sydney CBD and harbour, just amazing!
This video shows the entire day's proceedings, I do apologise for the shaky footage at times, I was balancing the video camera with my still camera at times and I had a few drinks along the way too!
Special thanks to the team at Qantas for putting together a wonderful experience.

This flight number is now BNE to PER since at least 2015 if not earlier.

Just in case you didn’t manage to see this video before of the last Qantas B767-300 VH-OGL commercial flight, prior to leaving the service of Qantas. The flight was from Melbourne to Sydney.

My very first international flight was with a QANTAS' B767-338ER, I still remember the exact date - 27/06/1998 to 28/06/1998, flight QF188 SHA-SYD, as I saved the hand written red ticket for safe keeping. In those days, it was a very expensive one-way ticket, I took the then "super express" train from my town to Shanghai Centre (128 km in over 2 hours and now the fastest train runs the same route in 28 mins) and paid the ticket in cash. After purchasing the ticket, a Qantas agent gave me a timetable booklet, blue cover, quite thick, and I just kept reading it front to back and back to front for, believe it or not, weeks! That booklet is still on my bookshelf.

was on that flight will never foret the day my favourite plane went into the history books. my first commercial flight was on a Ansett 767, so when the 767 left forever, a small piece of me did as well. Its been months now, but I still wish I could see the bird fly once more.

+ AussieAircraft98 Do not feel sad, this particular GE powered air-frame was bought by WestJet of Canada ..... and will fly vacationers to the Caribbean / Europe, etc.It is undergoing a Massive re-fitment of its air- frame ... including installation of winglets.
The fate of Qantas RR powered 767s is not so kind(most will be scrapped in the Mojave desert);as used Rolls Royce powered 767s/747s have few takers...because the RB211 is a gas-hog/maintenance-repair intensive compared to P&W/GE of the era.

Not really, it was the route most often flown by the 767, so it seems appropriate
