QF767 : Final Flight of a Qantas Boeing 767 (Melbourne to Sydney)

- On the 27th of December 2014 Qantas scheduled its final Boeing 767 flight after 29 years of service in the fleet. The specially numbered flight QF767 was from Melbourne to Sydney scheduled to depart at 5pm and was operated by VH-OGL. On board were over 200 avgeeks, staff, former staff/crew and frequent flyers. It was a fabulous occasion and there was even a proposal on board. We also spent about 30 minutes doing low level flyovers of the Sydney CBD and harbour, just amazing!
This video shows the entire day's proceedings, I do apologise for the shaky footage at times, I was balancing the video camera with my still camera at times and I had a few drinks along the way too!
Special thanks to the team at Qantas for putting together a wonderful experience.

The 767 was a perfect aircraft for Australia.
This flight number is now BNE to PER since at least 2015 if not earlier.
Just in case you didn’t manage to see this video before of the last Qantas B767-300 VH-OGL commercial flight, prior to leaving the service of Qantas. The flight was from Melbourne to Sydney.
Thank you very much for this video! The 767 will be missed!
Anthony Davis My pleasure
My very first international flight was with a QANTAS' B767-338ER, I still remember the exact date - 27/06/1998 to 28/06/1998, flight QF188 SHA-SYD, as I saved the hand written red ticket for safe keeping. In those days, it was a very expensive one-way ticket, I took the then "super express" train from my town to Shanghai Centre (128 km in over 2 hours and now the fastest train runs the same route in 28 mins) and paid the ticket in cash. After purchasing the ticket, a Qantas agent gave me a timetable booklet, blue cover, quite thick, and I just kept reading it front to back and back to front for, believe it or not, weeks! That booklet is still on my bookshelf.
sad day for Aussie airline rip
Many, many thanks Aussieflyer for recording this historic flight and capturing the mood of the event. Truly marvelous.

Joel Austin Thanks! glad you enjoyed it.
Whats the name of the music in the beginning part and ending part in this video?
I badly miss the 767s in the qantas fleet I first flew qantas last year my first flight on qantas was Melbourne to Sydney on a 767 I felt lucky to fly on one before the fleet retired
was on that flight will never foret the day my favourite plane went into the history books. my first commercial flight was on a Ansett 767, so when the 767 left forever, a small piece of me did as well. Its been months now, but I still wish I could see the bird fly once more.
AussieAircraft98 The 767 is sorely missed!
Aussie Flyer what was the name of the song playd at the start?
+ AussieAircraft98 Do not feel sad, this particular GE powered air-frame was bought by WestJet of Canada ..... and will fly vacationers to the Caribbean / Europe, etc.It is undergoing a Massive re-fitment of its air- frame ... including installation of winglets.
The fate of Qantas RR powered 767s is not so kind(most will be scrapped in the Mojave desert);as used Rolls Royce powered 767s/747s have few takers...because the RB211 is a gas-hog/maintenance-repair intensive compared to P&W/GE of the era.
D McNamara you know the name of the song was
+Shadow is the best If you have or have access to a smart-phone; (like a I-phone,etc.);audio app on a desktop-laptop,the name or its composer will pop-up in options menu...if not automatically displayed.
Historic video! I saw rainbow and bunch of unicorns!
This Flying Roo will fly high forever.
Great video! I was on this flight. Can't believe its been 3 years already. Definitely miss the 767.

Managed to fly in the QANTAS 767 in Nov 2014 from Darwin to Brisbane as I knew they were retiring them & we were sitting on our hotel balcony @ Circular Quay on 27/12 to see you fly around Sydney Harbour. Thanks for the video!

Now used by WestJet Airlines!
Qantas 767s were regulars at WSSS (SIN) in the early 2000s. They will be missed.
Thank you for sharing your great video with us.
Have you taken the safety instructions card as a souvenir?
Greetings from Switzerland
Quietly envy here in the Czech Republic already so just say goodbye to ending the national carrier (Czech Airlines).
2020 good bye to quantas 747s
pity i couldn't fly on them to farewell, COVID killed them off
My first flight were on an airbus a340 and a320 and I'm an airbus fan but my God the 767 is beautiful better than Boeings current planes
8:55 do you hear people talking about a crash landing???
When did the flight land
nice to see a wheelchair accessible toilet on the aircraft
Nicely done. Sadly Air NZ is retiring their 767s as well now days. Liked + Subscribed. And may I ask, what is the name of the music played in both the beginning and end of the video? Thanks.
what was the name of the song at the start of the video?
Great Video, That same bird is now part of one of our Canadian airline fleets (WestJet) and now has added wiglets. Im sure it has lots of happy flights left > link of a photo July 2016 landing at YYC - Calgary Alberta Canada m.facebook.com/JZhivagoImages/photos/a.1761735300707159.1073741846.1711792685701421/1761735634040459/?type=3&source=54&ref=page_internal
I've heard WestJet have had a few maintenance dramas with them though
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOO
What a boring route to finish on.
Not really, it was the route most often flown by the 767, so it seems appropriate
