Such a total chill out song - so good on so many levels. Timothy B. Schmid's smooth voice, their harmonies and kudos to Don Felder on the guitar. If you've seen their 1977 performance of "Hotel California", he's the one playing the double guitar.
The band had a “you wrote it, you sing it.” policy. Henley/Frye didn’t “allow” any member to sing a particular song. Schmit did sing on a few more but they weren’t hits. This one song really brought the Eagles 🦅 up another level. Also a couple of them played for Linda Rhondstat as the Stone Ponies.
Great Reaction. I’m surprised that this video has not been blocked yet. The Eagles are Notorious Blockers as Rick Beato likes to say. The Eagles had hit records with 5 different members singing lead vocals. I think only Chicago can match that.
Great song, Great vocals, So Smooth, and one of my favorite guitar solo's of all time! Don Felder was so underrated as a Guitarist! Sadly, He no longer is with the Eagles.
Arguable. Perhaps not "bad" songs, but certainly two diff genres their catalogue falls into. This, w/others like Hotel Cali, Best of my Love, Take it to the Limit...more polished and refined and classy like 'Adult Contemporary'...some of the best written songs of ALL TIME! Then they have like that twangy hokey pseudo 'Country genre' stuff...Lyin' eyes, Take it Easy, Already Gone...can't stand it, and the Eagles are of my favorite bands ever...but NEVER listen to those twangy low-rent for the common masses tunes.
Amazing song. Henley (I think) does a subtle shift in the last two rounds of the chorus harmonies... it comes from a little bit higher place, it's beautiful.

This is my favorite song of all time.
No autotune just pure talent
Thoroughly enjoy watching the younger generation discover great music that was available during my formative years.
And so suddenly I'm young! & I'm 76!
The very first time I heard this song it became one of my favorites.
Pure perfection from beginning to the end.
Can't listen to this without shedding a tear. Love this song. It touches every fiber in my body
In the 1970s. Real musicians playing real music. What an original thought, isn't it ?
Absolutely
I wish Don Henley and Glenn Frey would have “allowed” Timothy B Schmit to sing lead on more songs! His voice melts my heart.
I wish he got to sing more songs also
I totally agree

This was done in one take and is the album version. Really.
That’s just how good of a band they were.
@ 6:48 no need to apologies for going back. Heck i don't think we would mind if you went back to the beginning of the song 😊
