Thank you so much for posting this. We currently have our daughter stuck on Meth and she hasn’t hit bottom where she realizes she wants help. She has two children she isn’t present for and they are 8,000 miles away. I’m using channels like this to understand addiction and it helps tremendously. Please be well. It looks like you are well on your way to a better life. Keep your chin up. You can do this.

Pls be there for her don’t give up on her. I know the thing she probably does make her seem like she’s a whole different person because that’s what drugs do they alter your brain chemistry so it’s not her fault the way she is acting (if she is acting out) but she is still that little girl you once knew I promise. She’s still there it’s just masked under the addiction. Always have hope and don’t give up on her please recovery is very possible and meth doesn’t give physical withdrawls to the extent of fentanyl or any other opiate since meth is a stimulant. But once again please do not give up on her.

Be greatful it's Meth and not Fentanyl.
That stuff really changes you on a deep level if you can survive the near fatal dosages in most $10 bags people get.
Thank God for suboxone... does work.
The depression she will feel will be pretty bad... can have some real dark thought when by yourself, needs to have a good support network, find some straight friends to hang out with.
Some people have to geographically move just to set themselves free from the social link and access to the substance.

I was done with that drug! After like 2 weeks of feeling ok, I then gradually started slipping into a severe & crippling depression... I endured that for 9 months and finally reached out to a substance abuse treatment place and I was placed on the lowest dose of Suboxone...4mg once daily... for me it works very well...maybe someday I'll want to get off the suboxone but for now, it's what I want...

I will admit that I have no experience of taking drugs, I have an internal fear of not being in control so have never tried them. It does seem to me that people take drugs just to escape life…life can be exciting, life can be dull, life can be stressful, life can be serene, falling in love is great, falling out of love hurts the soul….but all these things are part of real life. As you said, it is about developing coping mechanisms. So glad that you are becoming a human being again. My thoughts are with you.

One must remind themselves of the lowest point of being and if choose to continue the lifestyle that led them there will only see the outcome worsen.. in your case death. The “animal/creature” you speak of, I use the word “primitive” for such behavior/being. It’s a mindset like you said and there are ways to help the anxiety like Water, favorite foods, and music which are all healthy. Thanks , it was a well said story. God Bless.

Very good video! Naturally you have the experience of what you’ve been through,
but also the talent to communicate about it in a very clear manner. You would make
    a great counselor.
One question though; someone close to mine was going through the withdrawals
(Had been using a very mild opiates orally for 10 years, with a low dosage. He was able
to live his life pretty much normally, but nevertheless wanted to quit.), and after one week
he was still not able to sleep and eat, told me that he felt like rats were eating his body
24/7, so he eventually gave up, and went back to using. So the question is, how do you
deal with the physical pain, if it’s really that horrible, and has not diminished a bit after a
7 days of hell? Thank you very much, and all the best. 🙏

the past times I tried to kick the worse part like that lasted about 2 weeks or less. this last time I had to go to the ER and admitted to the psych ward. I was in a bad state of psychosis from the meth and it was worsen by coming off benzos and fentanyl at the same time. I was there for 5 days then drooling on myself unable to move properly or sleep for 15 days. there's no getting around the pain. the onlyl thing that kept me going was I truly felt I was fighting for my life. I had decided I was done before I started detox and I didnt change my mind. years of trying different ways of getting clean and failing showed me that the o ly way for me was to go through it and get to the other side. in my experience your friend has to be beaten by drug use enough to not consider it an option. it looks different for everyone. just know that he can bounce back and feel good again without drugs.

WELL DONE buddy, dude I was a addict of 20 years, opioid and opiate addiction, IV to the point where veins collapsed, Valium as well, 300 mg morphine sulphate in particular, (mono ) mate we are almost the same lol, I have been clean for 8 going on 9 years, the benzo withdrawal is brutal, it lasts for a year, hypertension and anxiety, you will see, but it does pass, it will generally come on at night,, the opiate and or opioid is a walk in the park, it is short lived, I know fentanyl has a copious half life and the synapse, maintains the craving of dopamine and serotonin but it does get equilibrium, the meth is also a prick but it also does get better, also the methedone is a good thing for a while, however it can become a crutch, I run it for a few years and got some balance, Pending doom is also part of recovery,, ironically I went back to school and did a bio med degree, stay strong mate, it is doable, cheers from Oz mate

Go get a sponsor. Call them everyday and go to more meetings. I think you should share. But thinking your a scholar enough in this to make a UA-cam video and think it's a solution to alcoholism and drug addiction is blasphemy. When you get an experience in real long term sobriety and using tools from a 12 step program to stay sober even threw all the shit you would use drugs or drink over is the message of hope. Not your experience with drugs and alcohol. This is called sharing the problem.
