I can't believe you just posted this when I needed it. I was hoping to find ANY video showing the circuit breaker on any FLH and here you have the same year and model as me! To boot, your video clearly shows where the wiring goes. I had upgraded my charging system with Cycle Electric's 3 phase upgrade and had to run the regulator wire to the circuit breaker. (You should do this upgrade). But I was also doing a transmission reseal and waiting for special tooling and parts. I took some pictures but they suck. When I took off the nuts from the circuit breaker the whole thing just crumbled, so I had to get another one. I didn't realize for awhile that the breaker was in a carrier that was riveted to the frame. But thankfully I realized it before I did something stupid. So I removed the bits and pieces and waited for the new breaker from the dealer. By that time I was involved with removing the inner primary and seals and that took awhile and I forgot where the wires for the breaker went. My service manual shows two of the wires but not all of them. Your video saved the day! Thank for posting it.
So I am with out power on my bike. when I try to install the battery the neg sparks and gets hot right away. The bike just dies while on a ride last year. Could this be my problem?
Hello @leftoversandcake, No, no fuses were blowing. The bike electronics would just shut off completely on me with no warning and while I was riding, very scary on the freeway. As of this replacement of the main circuit breaker the bike has not shut down on me at all. Was this the fix? Im not sure, but so far it is working. Thank you for watching!
Thank you for posting this. just about to do this myself. Can you tell me if there is a wrong way to wire this. I notice that there is a copper and a zinc plated terminal. Thanks a agin
Thank you for this video. How many amps is this circuitbraker. I have 2002 Ultra. Wondering is this braker a part of charging. Mine bike started to change voltage between 14 and 12, untill it didnt charge at all. Stator and regulator have been measured. They seems to be Ok.
Hello Jari Kaakinen, the new circuit breaker is a 50 amp. Harley for some reason updated from the initial 40 amp (CB) for this particular year model. Thank you for watching!
@@TKO-NY I did replace the circuit braker and it helped. Later on I found accidentally grounding issue under the fuel tank. Thicker black negative wire was almost free in its connection/bolt. This wire was main ground (negative) for the instrument cluster/front. After tightening that everything has working just fine. Maybe that was basic reason why 2 pieces of charging regulators was fryed.
Edit. I have to change regulator also in the same time with the CB. CB change did't fix the charging issue. 1 phase regulator is not so easy to measure. Some diodes was broke in regulator.
Hello edZILLA64, the symptoms were that my bike would just shut down on me without any warning while I was riding, very scary. The dealership could not diagnose the problem at all so it was up to me to figure it out. I had read through internet threads that the main circuit breaker could be the cause especially for this particular year model bike. I can not tell you that this is the fix but, what I can tell you is that it has not given me any issues since. Thank you for the comment and thank you for watching.
@@albertoguerrero5362 THANKS FOR THE REPLY. I HAVE A FATBOY THAT IS CAUSING ME TROUBLE. I HAVE REPLACED EVERYTHING ELECRONIC. @@edZILLA64 , Yes it is worth a try and I hope it all works out for you. Ill keep you posted if mine repeats the failure which I hope it does not. Thanks again for watching.
I have a 2004 Sportster 883 and it cuts out while I'm driving and goes back and cuts out and it's gotten worse. Thanks for the video I think that's my problem and I need to fix it ASAP
I wish you would have showed the location of it better at least zoom out on the video this is an alright video besides you're not showing where it is on the bike fully.

Was the fuses blowing before you replaced it? My 2003 sportster has no power but is not blowing fuses.

Good point, doing my best. Thank you for watching
Also looking for the location. Can anybody give me a good clue on my 1998 Road Glide.
Located and replaced. On mine it’s located in front of the battery. Remove battery and you should see it.
Gotta remove the battery to get at it. Right in front of the battery.
