No.memtion.of how trashed those threads are now? You gotta retap those. No one ever says that. Learned the hard way. And no offense with all that equipment like positioned and such and that's what your weld looks like?
Hello @kmarshall131. Thank you for watching.
Amazing 🤩 well explained Im buying one this week
Hello @ramcity05, I am so glad you are finding the information useful. Thank you for watching.
That is really kewl… I did that kind work using gas mig welder. I’m starting up try tig welding as I bought 3 in 1 welder.
How do you connect the other end of the line to the pump?
Hello @gcastillo4446, the entire fuel pump assembly must be raised from the tank to gain access to the fuel pump regulator where the other end connects to. I included the link to my video that shows where it connects. (See Below). I hope this helps. Thank you for watching. ua-cam.com/video/roqpr2JvI1c/v-deo.htmlsi=fl7kH5zHe0jpqMKf
Good Job.
Hello @jacktoddy9783, many thanks. Thank you for watching.
How did you get the filter in seems like it doesn’t fit
Hello @alexysmar7658, I did not install the filter that came with the pressure switch. The reason is my truck did not have one in it to begin with and the service manual did not call for one either, so I left well enough alone. I hope this helps you. Thank you for watching.
Very glad you made this video. I have to ask, do you know a part number for the retaining spring for the dual pulley bracket to tension handle? Ive tried cross referencing sizes on Amazon l. No luck Thanks
See if this works for you. The Ground drive system takes two springs PN: 149412 and PN: 176624 both are called spring Drive. The mower deck also takes two springs, PN: 179479 Primary spring drive and PN: 174371 Secondary spring drive. Please note, these numbers are referenced from Craftsman's owner's manual for model No. 917.276320. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Say that gives me a little more info on it how do I drop the rear gear down belt pully.
I'm really not sure what you mean by the rear gear down pulley but see if this helps you on a visual of the rear drive pully which is under the fan blade I remove in this video. If not, again I'm not sure. Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/7efygVv2qzY/v-deo.html Thanks for watching.

Hello @zealotproductions. I'm glad it's helping you out. Let me know how it works out for you. Thank you for watching.
Great video, but why doesn’t anyone give the actual size of each belt?!!!!
Hello ToneyMann, Thank you for your comment. The Size for each of the belts are shown at the following times: 3:21 / 11:13 / 12:37. I hope this is what you are referring to in your comment and I hope this helps you out. Thank you watching.
Got one doing the same. Will try this fix tomorrow. Thanks....
I hope it works for you. I'm sure it will. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for making this video. I have a HusV that's same model and having an issue where the mower is same height 3" no matter how far the knob is turned...the knob screw is not stripped out...so I'm investigating what could be causing this none adjustment. I suspected doubled nutted somewhere by previous elder owner. I also want to rebuild the loose steering items to tighten steering up. Any good place to buy parts for these still>>?
Hello @gwlane5509, To be honest I bought most all of the parts from Amazon. The fuel tank replacement which I did not video was bought off of craigslist, just a lucky find on that one. Thank you watching.
Good job! Glad y’all made it safely to the finish!
Thank you, Ana, thank you watching.
Can anyone answer- The bolt loosened below the 2-pulley bracket to allow him to remove the drive belt. Should that bolt/nut actually not be 100% tight, to allow the 2-pulley bracket to float and sel-adjust for temperature, belt wear, load, etc. allowing the tension spring and engagement controls to function?
I’m working on mine right now. I’d say it should be tight. The spring from that bracket broke on mine. Still trying to find a replacement spring….headache
Oh! Also meant to ask if/how you prepped the nut to get the coating off.
Hello Zachary, I just use a wire brush to remove the coating as best that I can. I also wear a mask under my hood and open my garage door for this type of welding. The coating is really bad for us. Thanks again for watching.
Hi Alberto, interesting video. Thanks for posting the amperage. Can you tell me the tubing wall thickness and nut specs? Looks pretty close to one of the steps in the “weld yourself” rock slider kit from Coastal Off-road. I was also interested in your rod feeding, what was the rod being held in?
Hello Zachary, Thanks for your comment. The gauge thickness on that tube is 7ga (0.1793"), the nut is just a basic flange nut. I really don't have the specs for it other than its a 5/16-20. I hope this helps you. Thank you for watching
I use a piece of Mig gun liner to hold my welding rods, it helps me a lot with the thin wire I normally use.
Excellent. you can hide them on the inside as well. ua-cam.com/video/hsdiNA8efkA/v-deo.html
Thank you for sharing! I am planning to do the 67 miler also in May!
Fantastic! this will be a fun and challenging ride to do. Thank you for watching!
Cool project. Why did you make the axle so long? Seems it will make it weaker with the extra torque on that axle.
Hello tray22, the item I needed to move had a base of 25 inches in width, and I wanted to use the materials I already had without buying any more. So for the purpose it worked out great and handled the weight just fine. However, the strength will definitely be a factor to take into consideration if ever used for any other purpose. Thank you for watching.
Alberto, what is the TIG welder that you're using here?
Hello John, it’s a Lincoln 225 precision, it is square wave. Fantastic machine.
I just purchased a millermatic 35 for $250 and went through it to get it ready to be used. I cant seem to find a whole lot of UA-cam videos on how to use this machine. instead of this machine having a selector know for the voltage is has a cable that must be move through the range of 1 thru 6, the question I have is, what values are each of the selections in voltage?
Hello @108bud99 if you contact me through my email, I will share that information with you so you can have as a reference. I agree with you, there is not much information out there on these great machines.
I wasn't really looking for a welding video. Seeing the remount would have been nice though.
Hello @murraymacneill2545, thank you for the comment and well noted. Thank you for watching.
What amps is that breacker
Hello Brad, it is a 50-amp breaker. Thank you for watching.
Alberto where did you get the hardened cutting edge that is needed to split the logs? I'm working on a modified rocket stove and I can see that I'll need a decent sharp edge to split wood from time to time..
Hello John, the cutting edge is not hardened steel, I just made it out of 3/8 hot rolled plate and formed the edge myself. I have not had any issues with the edge losing its sharpness. I hope this helps.
@@albertoguerrero5362 I've got an idea for a combo Rocket stove /smoker / Blackstone that we're going to build. I'll keep you up to speed as we go forward..I'll need a log splitter too. I need to split the wood before we put it in the rocket stove..

Alberto, I'd love to know what settings you use with your Miller Vintage when butt welding on 1/8" to 1/8" with 0.030" wire and 3/16" to 3/16" and 1/4" to 1/4" both wire speed and voltages I think my "Bacon sizzle" is too loud and that I may be doing it wrong? Anyways any help & I would be grateful for your input.. Thanks JM
@johnmccarthy6451 This is what I use to reference my welder settings. The Millermatic 3-Pack (MIG, TIG, Stick) Calculator Cards. Here is the link: www.millerwelds.com/equipment/training-solutions/training-materials/3pack-mig-tig-stick-calculators-043125 These are some really nice cards to have.
John, If you contact me through my email, I have a pdf file I made, and I would like to share that with you regarding your mm vintage welder. I think it would really help out with the settings. let me know.
@@albertoguerrero5362 I think that there are multiple .pdf manuals available from Miller on the Miller Vintage welder. Hello MigUser101. The Mig Gun model is a Trafimet T-Plus 25 with a 12ft Lead. Its a quality Gun. I hope this helps you. Thanks for watching.
Hi hope your doing good I just replaced the primary and secondary deck belts double and triple checks the routes look good but every time I go to engage the blade the mower dies never had that issue before please I could use some help
Hello, I am not really sure.
You needed ramps to get that up there?🙄
Preference. Thanks for watching.
Was the fuses blowing before you replaced it? My 2003 sportster has no power but is not blowing fuses.
Hello @leftoversandcake, No, no fuses were blowing. The bike electronics would just shut off completely on me with no warning and while I was riding, very scary on the freeway. As of this replacement of the main circuit breaker the bike has not shut down on me at all. Was this the fix? Im not sure, but so far it is working. Thank you for watching!
I wish you would have showed the location of it better at least zoom out on the video this is an alright video besides you're not showing where it is on the bike fully.
Good point, doing my best. Thank you for watching
Also looking for the location. Can anybody give me a good clue on my 1998 Road Glide.
Located and replaced. On mine it’s located in front of the battery. Remove battery and you should see it.
Gotta remove the battery to get at it. Right in front of the battery.
Alberto sorry to pester to you but when you're welding 16 gauge sheet metal and 0.030 with C25 mix what are your settings wire speed and voltage, on your Miller Vintage?
Hello John, good to here from you. Keep in mind that these are just approximate values and will vary from machine to machine. Per the millermatic caliculator recomendations for .030 wire and 16 ga. sheetmetal it is recommended as follows: 250-340 IPM (wire speed) and 17-18 V ( 75/25 mix gas). This is just a starting point and you will have to adjust from there as necessary. I hope this helps. Also you may wnt to verify your miller is set at the Low Voltage setting as well (inside the panel). The outside tap on mine is #4, may be different on yours.
@@albertoguerrero5362 Albert thanks for the heads up. I've a few more things to check. I did get some beads laid down last night which is starting to improve. I'm only practicing with 16 ga and 0.030 wire presently. I've a 75/25 Gas Mix too. My dials don't give me IPM but a function of 1-100 and the voltage is 1-6. I did note the internal switches inside the drive roll bay too.. I'm getting there. "Life's a marathon not a sprint!" ~ Anon!
@@johnmccarthy6451 Thats the beauty of these old machines, Reference the following as approximate and a starting point to help you out. Regarding the Dial for the wire speed. 0-10 (50-124 IPM), 10-20 (124-198 IPM), 20-30 (198-272 IPM), 30-40 (272-346 IPM), 40-50 (346-420 IPM), 50-60 (420-494 IPM), 60-70 (494-568 IPM), 70-80 (568-642 IPM), 80-90 (642-716 IPM), 90-100 (716-790 IPM). Regarding the Tap Switch 1=(13v), 2=(15v), 3=(16v), 4=(17v), 5=(18v), 6=(22V). All at the low voltage setting. Again, these are approximate values and not exact.
@@albertoguerrero5362 Thank you ever so much for these notes. I've never seen these referenced anywhere. I do have a .PDF Manual for the Miller Vintage but I'm going to find a printer that can create a double sided copy for me and I'll put your notes inside my ring folder for going forward. Do you have, other web forums where there are lots of Miller Vintage users, that I can garner knowledge from too?

Alberto I finally found a nice Miller Vintage welder. It was fairly priced but had no gas cylinder or gas gauges. I drove all over creation go get it and bring it home. I drove 1900 miles in three days to get this beast.. I've got a starting out question for you. The copper spool of non-flux has rust all over it. It's a very large spool, that I don't want to throw out the spool of 0.35" wire but, if it's got rust on the wire, do I just peal back the to clean wire or throw it away and get myself a fresh spool of welding wire? Thanks in advance for your answer! I do know I've got to take it apart and vacuum out the internals as it's been stored in farm shed where the outside climate is very damp. This dampness caused the welding wire to go rusty on the outside..
Hello John, Nice to here you found one. I do recommend you buy another spool of wire and do not throw away the spool of wire the came with it, you can still use it as tig wire. Mine actually came the same way as yours with a rusty spool of .045 wire. I use that wire as Tig wire, I just burnish the rust off with a piece of scotch-brite and the wire is good to go. To this day I am still using that old roll. Hope this helps.
@@albertoguerrero5362 let me get going with the MIG first before I migrate to TIG. Point taken on the wire. Where do you usually get your wire from? What type of gas cylinder (Mix?) do I need? Pure CO2 or CO2 & Argon mix? Thanks for your pointers. What projects are you working on currently?
@@johnmccarthy6451 Mixed gas (Ar/CO2) in 75/25 ratio may be you best overall option. As for welding wire, myself personally, I use Lincoln ER70S-6 as well as HTP brand in .030 and .035 dia. However your purpose will determine the type requirements. Projects? I just uploaded a project titled "Bicycle Floor Stand - Made from A Motorcycle Wheel Chock". Pease check it out! Thank you for your comments.
What is a good price for one of these? Someone is selling with a tank and asking $1500.
@@alanrussell6678 Alan I paid $1000 for my unit and I don't think it has seen a lot of use. I drove 1900 miles to pick it up in So. Oregon which was a three day road trip for me. That cost about $300+ between gasoline + two nights in a motel. I bought my argon / CO2 bottle locally as a separate transaction and by the time I was done that cost about $250 for a full 150 Cu Foot tank of AR/CO2. + $130 for a flow meter so if you don't have to drive too far $1500 for the machine + tank & flow meter isn't expensive. I had a fabricator build me bike rack for the garage. So I've been able to win enough space now to buy or build a welding table. I've got an auto darkening welding helmet I bought at $120 too. All the extras add up. I've got to get a welding table going in some form or other + then I can start actually welding.
Well done!
So I am with out power on my bike. when I try to install the battery the neg sparks and gets hot right away. The bike just dies while on a ride last year. Could this be my problem?
