Tony does have a point. Its like a billionaire with more money than he could possibly need. He becomes so obsessed with money, hording it, growing it that he becomes miserable because he can't imagine himself without money, that fear is so great it ruins his life.

Korvac killing himself and saving Tony after being brought bak from the brink by Tony's selflessness is perhaps the most real moment in the entire story. In the end he wasn't even to help himself despite Tony quite literally saving his soul.

I've dealt with Opiate withdrawal after 5 years of abuse. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. The only way I can explain it is on a physical level you're hot then cold, can't sleep because your legs stiffen up, bones ache like they're broke. Mentally, it feels like hopelessness and like you have lost someone, it's a kind of grieving .

This is a great story. The only thing sad about this will be in a few years (maybe just a few months), Marvel is just going to revert Tony back into a power drunk ego maniac instead of giving him this moment to mature and heal. So many characters should be wiser and more responsible than they were 20, 30 years ago, but they aren't.

I was always on Doom's side, though.
A world where everyone is not only smart, but knows they're smart, and acts like they're smart, and does whatever they want to do because they know they're "factually" right and don't need to explain themselves sounds like a nightmare.

18:38 yeah... im kinda at this point in my life. Ive stopped trying to be with anyone really. Im pretty sick of the near constant rejection. Worse yet, when I was younger I used to think it was because I was ugly. Turns out im not, so I don't get to use that as an excuse and think "well if I was just better looking, if I was just "More"".
But im just different, and people don't want to be with someone who is too different from them. People don't like change, and they don't like things they don't understand or can't predict. Not everyone gets a happy ending and not everyone gets to have love, so ive given up on the idea. Pursuing something thats unachievable is just going to lead to a lot of unnecessary grief.
So its become easier to focus on things outside myself, and to be what I believe is a good person. Rather than trying to be what other people think is a desirable person.

Mistakes happen, even the smartest people make mistakes. It's fine. We learn from them. It's how we grow. But mistakes should only ever happen once. When they happen again because we didn't learn, they stop being mistakes and become errors. And errors need to be corrected. Perfection doesn't exist, but failure and stubbornness do. Two things that shouldn't be put together.

Also it just seems like the scenario w/ Robot and Invinsible is the only way to really bring the world to peace. It's messy but it worked and I fully agree with Rob's takes that superheroes could easily make the world better if they really tried. Im terms of real life, there's just too many shitty/idiotic people in power for good to be achieved as fast as it could truely be.

We need a Frogman solo run after that ending. It is literally just Frogman going around to help the heroes in their personal lives. Every other issue/vol/chapter ends with Frogman losing a fight, and then checking in on a Hero/Anti-Hero/Anti-Villain who is super down in the dumps, or struggling with something very severe… effectively becoming the Sponsor for the Heroes who are struggling. Heck, it doesn’t have to be heroes, have Frogman visit a bunch of children and retells the story of his adventures. Have the Misfits show up in a few volumes where they’re doing community service while also raising awareness or something. Straight up feel stuff.

I can relate to tony in every possible way... okay without the armour or power cosmic.... If im not perfect im nothing.... Oh and just for the record any opioid withdrawals, be it heroin or morphine, will never allow you to pass out nor sleep for that matter... You'll keep twitching and have restless legs syndrome for a good few weeks or months

I watched another review where some guy just gushed about how crazy it was that iron man killed silver surfer Doom etc. and I didn't make me want to read this book. But you're recap, Rob, actually made this comic sound interesting and meaningful. You've got a real love for the medium man.

Rob, I was in high school when Michael Korvac gained his power. He was preparing to end the pain of the mortal existence, by hidining himself from the great abstract enteties. No more cancer, no more miscarriages, no more, well, Death. Tony got it so wrong, making everyone Tony Stark was a, stupid idea. Korvac was going to make a Universal Paradise, although that would never happen. But Michael Korvac was fighting for all sentient life forms to have a “good” life, no more parents losing children for example. Alas, mortality is, real…
