Speeder Chase & Quidditch | John Williams Score Comparison.
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 сер 2024
- Recently I've Re-Watched Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets And During The Quiditch Match Scene I Noticed How Eery Familiar The Track Was To 'Zam The Assassin And The Chase Through Coruscant' Track From Episode II Attack Of The Clones.
It's Common Knowledge That John Williams Composes All The Star Wars Films And The First 3 Harry Potter Movies, So I Am Pretty Late To Finding Out This Similarity, However, I Still Had To See What Is Is Like Syncing The Unreleased Track To Footage Of The Coruscant Speeder Chase.
0:00 Attack Of The Clones Soundtrack
0:24 Chamber Of Secrets Version
So Which Version Do You Prefer? Both Films & Scores Were Released In 2002.

John Williams copying himself
All the good composers do it at some point or other ;)
@@timschultz2560, you're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view!
He was actually working on both movies at the same time as well as several others. He probably got the scores mixed up
Big brain time
HAHA LOL 😂
John Williams: Can I copy your homework?
John Williams: Sure just don't make it too similar.
John Williams:
I wanted to like this comment but it’s too perfect lol it has 66 likes
@@Simply.everything.skywalker Okay I made it 69 now
@@엔도르 wow, i am the 69th like in another thread and i made the same comment u did
@@엔도르 although we are now at 90 on this guys comment
Your clones are very impressive. You must be very proud.
im like number 69
John Williams: I'm just a simple man trying to make my way in the music industry.
“This is getting out of hand, Now there are two of them”
I was just watching Harry Potter and wondering if anyone else noticed the funny similarity
Saaaaaaaame
And the force theme and the hedwigs theme
@@IlijaIlijic nope, they're not similar (only ny point of view)
Yea
same bro
This happened because John Williams had a scheduling conflict with Catch Me If You Can and had to write the score very fast with the help of orchestrator William Ross. It is unknown if the parts copied from AOTC were done by Williams or Ross.
I read somewhere that it was an accident that the Star Wars piece was sent to William Ross
Hmm. The issue is that Chamber of Secrets uses multiple pieces from Attack of the Clones. Seems difficult to make that mistake more than once.
@@drewcollier1138 and aslo John was doing the scor for minority report as well,
@@zacharyjochumsen9677and the chase music in that one sounds eerily similar to the chase through Coruscant as well. 2002 was a very busy year for him
Crazy to think he did 3 movie scores all around the same time and still managed to compose “Across the Stars” one of the most beautiful themes of all time
Nice. :) I remember noticing the similarity as a kid. I prefer the Star Wars version.
I KNEW I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED THAT!!!!!!
He literally admitted to accidentally using the Star Wars score in the quidditch scene
lmao that never happened.
im sorry :( @@thegoodgeneral
Williams was extremely busy in 2002 and asked another composer William Ross to adapt his score for Harry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets. It is possible (and quite likely) that Williams was so busy on Star Wars that he either thought he could kill two birds with one stone and use the same music for two fast-paced action sequences, or William Ross was given the Star Wars score for inspiration and that is the best he could come up with. Perhaps not Williams' finest hour, but it is still better than the same type of music that Hans Zimmer et al. come out with whereby you could swap the music from Gladiator into Pirates of the Caribbean, and nobody would really notice.
Yeah, he scored Spielberg’s Minority Report and Catch Me If You Can as well as Attack of the Clones and the Chamber of Secrets.
Man, you hit the nail on its head.
I always found this amusing. I kinda love it that the two franchises are linked through this piece, like divorced parents fighting for the ownership of their kid.
Also, several notes from the main Star Wars theme play when Harry sees the Hogwarts Express for the first time in The Philosopher's stone.
I noticed this too haha
Yes, as a huge SW fan, first time I watched Harry Potter and saw this I was thinking "May the Force be with you Harry" 😂
Yeah! You're right @2:47 ua-cam.com/video/KWcxgrg4eQI/v-deo.html
The notes are A,B, F#, E, D, B, F#
2002 was a busy year for Williams; another example of these score similarities is between AOTC and Minority Report.
You missed another one, with Lucius Malfoy's theme also coming from Attack of the Clones.
I noticed this too, infant theres a load of Star Wars themes in John Williams other Movie Scores :P
0:00 Bounty Hunter Pursuit
0:24 Rogue Bludger Pursuit
The Rogue Bludger was more of an escape than a pursuit
@@beanik835 ...That's fair.
I think it's a beautiful link between the two films and a way that Williams puts his signature in the movie. Williams has an incredibly unique sound to his scores and compositions...you can always tell when a score is by Williams, and whilst these two scores are similar, the Harry Potter one has a more magical sounding flourish than Star Wars.
Rey's Theme from Star Wars Episode VII sounds like it should be in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
I actually find myself miming "Double double toil and trouble" with my lips
Polish Patriot I noticed it. Pretty clear tbh
Polish Patriot it’s when he rides the buckbeak in PoA... were you trying to trick me so you could say «haha I’m superior to you!»? Because in that case it’s extremely sad
Polish Patriot Well I’m pretty sure it’s not in PS
Polish Patriot most likely not considering the change of direction after mc
Same with Harry potters theme where there is a subtle imperial march

Love this piece of music
Haha, i didn't notice that before. Nice. Btw, beginning of the episode 3 theme sounds like music from the starkiller base destruction scene in TFA
Ah I see what you mean :)
Hello there
Ну привет)
Im glad I’m not the only one who noticed
Do more of this!
they're both awesome
Qui est la grâce à Nini 9 3/4 ?

I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THAT NOTICED!!!
Me too. Was watching the quidditch scene and I thought, hang on that's star wars
For me:
"Coruscant Chase" 0:01
"Bludger Chase" 0:25
(Obi wan jumps)
HELLO THERE
I was watching Chamber of Secrets when I heard the music and realized
They are very very close to the same. They are played in the same tempo and they share their key signatures. But the arrangement is different. It's like he rewrote the song
Both movies came out in 2002. I’m assuming he scored them back to back that year and pulled that refrain from Star Wars and tweaked it slightly for Harry Potter.
Did you do Yoda and the Younglings and HP3 when Lupin teaches Harry ?
I thought I was going mad when I heard it as a kid
im here because im watching harry potter 1 and i totally recognized it from one of the prequels and sure enough someone else did a few years ago
Some music from Attack of the Clones probably got mixed up in the edit.
I love this music style, reminds me of Stravinsky….
I KNEW ITTTTT REEEEEEE
haha!
you can add in a jurassic park score running from raptors
Tyolm Lrzeb no you can’t
You know? I always thought the same thing in both movies. Holy shit!
Well they were released the same year!
And they both are part 2.
yep, the composer (who worked on both of these scenes) was apparently very stressed from working on both movies and accidentally inserted the Star Wars score into Harry Potter
I wonder what would happen if He return to HP in 2005 reminder ROTS and GOF came out the same year but ROTS was early
damn that is straight originality
This is what happens when a Star Wars movie and Harry Potter movie come out in the same year, that’s why they had a different composer for the goblet of fire otherwise we would have gotten something similar to obi wan vs grievous soundtrack
Qui vient de 9 3/4

The siths feed on good feeling and every happy memory the sith will suck Harry's soul. Harry must learn to use the Force charm, if he is to fight the sith. Lol
His resamble downright harry potter
Looks like ol' Johnny dialed that one in.
Ça se ressemble tellement !!!!
Holst: first time?
OMG 😮
Give the man a break he was working on star wars, harry potter, minority report and catch me if you can at the same time in 02
attack of the clones started filming in year june 2000 while philosophers stone is september 2000
so technically star wars came first
Filming doesn't necessarily correlate with when the music is started or completed.
But, nice tidbit even so.
every harry potter music is kinda similar to star wars
i mean star wars came first right and williams composed all the sw movies one by one
C'est fou!!!!
That moment when you plagiarize yourself
69th comment
Man plagiarised himself 💀
Thank you for wasting 30 seconds of my fucking life, probably too hard to put in the HP scene as always
Its in the movie. Why are you so angry.
It’s literally the exact same song
Yes
