You definitely need to switch the shocks. The original shocks will bottom out. Unfortunately I sold the truck so I could not tell you if you can handle the same amount of weight.
Great video i got the kit for my truck and it turned out beautiful i just have one questions….in the kit it had the front shocks and i wanted to ask if there’s a spring out there for the front shocks
It's scheduled for one on the 8th of this month. I've replaced the entire front suspension also so yes it definitely needs an alignment. Even if I hadn't done the front I personally feel anytime you tear apart suspension its safer to get it aligned. Once I get results I'll make a post on the community page.
@@nextweeksadventure gotcha, how did it drive just with the flip kit? That’s all I’m planning to do. Also, how long did it take for the install? Thanks for the reply 🙏
@@gregfrayre3616 install wasn't to bad but i was able to get bolts out with little trouble. It drives fine but it looked like a sagging truck untill I dropped the front. The oem shocks are working but I'd recommend switching to a shock designed for lowered truck.
@Greg Frayre alignment is finished truck drives perfect. Spec sheet results will be posted in my community page. Said pinion angle was fine made no adjustments to it.
I used Americantrucks.com for the lowering kit. You can search shocks for max trac and it will show you the ones needed for a 4inch drop. $54.00 for rear set of 2
I ran factory shocks but yes I would recommend the maxtrac shocks for the appropriate drop length for better quality ride and not bottom out the factory ones.
I didn't have any tire rub on fenders. But I didn't drive the truck all that much. Issue I had was control arms would hit the bumpstops super hard so I just cut them off completely.
the instructions usually tell you to flip the leaf spring bolt👍
great video, thank you, can you still haul the normal amount of weight in the truck bed?

How did you drop the front

My rear kit was just the rear. I did get the maxtrac front drop springs separately. Drops front 2 inches. I also made a video on putting those in.
Hello sir 👋 did you end up getting it aligned? Did it need it or no? How was pinion angle?

@@nextweeksadventure okay 👌 and yes definitely I got max trac shocks as well. Thanks

Do you have the link or the size of the rear shocks?

Hey do you need drop shocks when lowering the truck

Can you give a part number for your kit? I can't find any flip kit for a 96 ram 1500
The kit I used was from American Trucks it was made by max trac but it was for 02-08 ram so not sure if you could make this kit fit a 96.
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to email them
So how many inches did you drop the back to made it level?
I plan on buying the same kit so I’m curious
I went 4 inch.
Did you ever need to C notch your frame?
No
It wasn’t hitting a lot without a c notch?
Yo quiero bajar mi troka ram pero donde puedo encontrar las piezas
I'm pretty sure Americantrucks.com is were I ordered my kit and parts from.
How did you drop the front
How did you drop the front
Put new 2" drop springs in from maxtrac. Made a video on that also.
I did the same and have run into tire rub on the fenders on big bumps. Have you had that issue at all?
