Thank you very much for inspiring us Mah Noor. The last 2 parts of the square of opposition discussions are in the making, and will be uploaded very soon. Once again, thank you!
Can I have clarification on something? When you say "some women are politicians" is "false" are you referring to a specific observation as in, say, the politicians attending a particular meeting, as opposed to ALL politicians on earth that exist? I could understand some women being false in the former localized example, but not if are referring to the total universe of politicians that exists on earth. Similar to your mango example. Is THIS what the subcontrary is addressing?
The quantifier SOME means something super specific: "There is at least one . . . " This quantifier does not refer to the total universe of any subject as you were suggesting. Some politicians are corrupt persons is true as long as there is ONE or more politicians that meet the criteria of being corrupt. Here is another way to view this: think of SOME as a way to ay there is a PERCENTAGE of TRUTH to the statement whereas the Universal quantifiers ALL & NO are 100 absolutes to the statement. SOME would then be equal to a value of 1 -99 percent. SOME can't be zero percent & it can't be 100 percent. The Universal quantifiers will only represent 100 percent. So either you are referring to 100 percent of a subject or you are not dealing with 100 percent ultimately. 100 percent means there are no other options to offer as a solution. The SOME means there can be multiple options to offer as a solution.

Quick question: How is "some politicians are women" a false statement?
hi Wineghost. we were just "assuming" for the sake of example that "Some politicians are women" are false. we hope this helps. cheers!
