In this lesson, I will talk about one of my favorite stickings, The RRL Sandwich on RL Bread. I first came upon this by improvising and experimenting with different combinations of RRL and RL. I realized it was a sticking that was RLRR-LRRL-RRLR-RLRL. I later came to realize that an easy way to remember it was that it was a series of 4 RRL's with a RL in the front and a RL in the back. A slice of RL on top, 4 slices of RRL and a slice of RL the bottom.

This is so fucking cool! I have been using the food analogy with my beginning students for years in describing certain rudiments. A six-stroke roll is a sandwich; 2 singles with 2 doubles in between. The seven is a three-topping pizza. The nine is four toppings. The ten is four toppings with thick crust. :) Damn... now I'm hungry. Thank you for this! You're brilliant!

I love to see you with used and weathered heads. Some times the drums sound better old beat up heads on them. Can’t stand dudes who always need brand new heads whenever they play.
