@@ritabarcar ok, just look: these swimmers have to hold their breath for minutes underwater. their heads are completely submerged; there’s no way to get air. that’s literally the equivalent of having your face completely covered. COMPLETELY COVERED. now, compare this to wearing a mask: a mask has open areas where air can come in, and you can breathe easily. that’s not anywhere near being completely covered. edit: whoops i didn't mean entire minutes. it's around 10-20 seconds. but even then that's quite a long time to hold your breath while kicking around whilst also being upside down.
@@audreyli_creations, now YOU look closer, but this time with a TIMER! So, what’s the longest period of time they have their heads completely submerged? And what is it that they do with their mouths the very first second they rise their faces above the water line? That’s right, they exhale! And if you pay attention, they also take a deep breath at the very last second before they submerge. I mean, I don’t really claim you’ll get the point now, but their faces show it quite obviously, again, if you pay attention. And I seriously doubt you can do any of those movements with a muzzle on. But hey, if you’re so content with a mandatory muzzle on your face, since you’re advocating for it that hard, then I guess so be it.

Just came from watching a video on what it really takes to do synchronized swimming and I have so much more respect, but I also flinch way more knowing these beautiful swimmers probably have had multiple concussions in their lifetime.
Catherine Prystupa-Maule - I think they’re just saying that during those last few minutes they will just mess around and things. They’re not trying to say that they can do this or that these Olympic qualifying swimmers r only as talented as a high school swimmer. As a high school swimmer myself, I agree with them 100%. Those last few minutes it’s fun to go mess around and pretend ur good at things like this. That’s all, no hate 👍🏼
Personally, synchronized swimming has been in a part of my life for years now, and also it brung me an option to “escape” all the other problems I had from school, or other.. but I also realized that it gave me stress, a lot of stress that I didn’t know would come, because when I was just starting I didn’t do competitions, but when I started, it’s when all the stress came. I just want to let you know that don’t let the stress come to you, you need to get over it, just tell yourself that this is only a few minutes of the years you got to live and it’s nothing compared to that. Stress is a very annoying feeling that everyone feels. So I want some people to gain trust in their selves, and know that being stressed will just bring you down more. Just do your best every time and you’ll succeed! Have a great day and I hope this helped you

@ olympic’s can y’all not have such disrespectful announcers
Rebecca Lynn seriously tho
You know,I was just upset about the announcer
Cause they’re racist and jealous
@@victorianichkhun8568 i know!
Literally searched for this comment...seriously disgusting towards the Egyptian team no one cares what you don’t like it’s about the teams!
" personally I don't like that " Who asked for your opinion ? they're getting into the mood and delivered a fantastic performance.. good for them
The people who hired them asked for their opinion
And who asked for yours??
itoo disliked the commentators comment on team Egypt
I interpreted it as not liking the delay between their walk on and the start of the routine.
You kinda did.
shouldn't the announcers be non biased or is it just what i imagined announcers should be?
@I’m Just here so commentators should be biased?
cheshire cat no they are saying that announcers should be non biased
@Cheese Fries oh sorry. I thought this is a hate comment.
i agreeeee she wouldn't shut uppppppp like just let me watch without your judgments 😂😭
Good luck getting a non-biased commentator after covid
I'll never understand how they count or even hear the music while under there
Also... China's routine was insane
Audra Hofacker there’s an underaged speaker
*underwater
There are no speakers underwater, the leader makes noises underwater with her mouth closed so that the others follow the music.
Matigu i do synchro and when we perform there’s underwater speakers
They have speakers underwater
Such a shame, this sport does not receive the recognition it deserves here in the UK.
Why are they hating on Egypt they did such a great job
I agree 👍
Don't forget they live in islamic state, it's hard to find a team and to teach them because of local traditions.

They practice 40 hours a week, and they have to be able to do so much. There's gymnastics, long-distance and endurance running, weight training and tons of swimming! It is, without a doubt, the highest form of water sports and ballet there is. I've been following synchronized swimming since it was introduced during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, and I can't imagine doing it myself. It's admirable.
I didnt expect anything less from Russia or China. They produce crazy athletes
I am astonished by the smoothness of the Egyptian team. So passionate !!
❤️ رشاقة و ابداع المصريات ما شاء الله كل الحب من المغرب

Incredible display of athleticism! This video showcased the sheer skill and speed of the swimmers. The competition was fierce, and every stroke was executed with precision.
I didn’t know this was a thing in the Olympics. 🤷🏽♀️ I never really was interested in it until recently. But I heard that they chat touch the bottom of the pool which means they have to be treading the entire time. That’s pretty amazing that they can do all that. Lot’s of respect!

I’m sorry I have never heard more rude commentators in my life “take a screen grab...it won’t last long” honestly they need to be fired 🙅🏾♀️cos that was so passive aggressive
which part was that?
i was thinking that too, how rude. they were so negative the entire time, like they were completely bias
Yes they were so annoying & rude!
@elizabethitota - Someone just above this comment noted that the Brits always sound like they're better than you. Amen. And the Aussies always sound even more superior than that because they're not British.
people in 2020: i can't wear a mask, it makes it too hard to breathe
artistic swim teams:
exactlyyyyyyyyyyyy
THANK YOU
Now look closer: do you see any swimmers with their mouths covered? I don’t. So what’s your point?
@@ritabarcar
ok, just look: these swimmers have to hold their breath for minutes underwater. their heads are completely submerged; there’s no way to get air. that’s literally the equivalent of having your face completely covered.
It's crazy to think that humans invented this form of sport, or even art. I can't even let myself float on water.
such an underrated sport and so so so much respect for these athletes
Why does that look so tiring... I literally felt so tired watching them move their legs at the speed of light while underwater... I can’t even move my legs that fast on land.
I absolutely never done synchronise swimming, but I used to swim for 10 years. I seriously don't know how this girls are able to keep the breath while moving at such speed 😂😂😂
Usually just crazy stamina and a lot of energy. Basically you need to almost be hyperactive.
Trust me. And water has so much resistance too. The whole thing just looks exhausting.
Why, Ling Ling, I'm sure you'd be able to do it too. While practicing, of course
This woman was praising all the other teams except Egypt. "They just need to move on with it" "Needs more synchronization" tf??? Maybe a little more respect. I would l o v e to see you compete against them. And whoevere is going to attack me about this, I know she's a proffesional paid to be in charge of this. B u t, I got just the slightest vibe of bias
Spring Roll THANK YOU 😊

Love and respect to these ladies. They make this look so effortless, but def probably the hardest sport ever.
كل التحية والتشجيع والتقدير لبناتنا من مصر ..أتمنى انهم مستمرين للآن ...تحية من السعودية
I’m amazed at how they can hold their breath for so long
We do breath training
James Parker What’s breath training consist of?
Jere Holding your breath while like doing planks or like sit-ups in sets... like holding your breath while doing a plank for 20 seconds, 10 sec rest, repeat
I have to do this for seimming
@@jere6487 In each session we do conditioning where we spend a lot of time holding our breaths while doing basic movements like rising and sinking in the underwater vertical position.
In our warmups we often do intense underwaters for example we would have.... Wind sprint (sprint front crawl without any breathes) for 25m and tumble turn at the end without taking a breath and straight into an underwater for 25m. We would usually repeat this about 4-5 times.
This looks like the most difficult sport I have ever seen! Not only do they have to do difficult, strenuous and fast past movements and lifts in synchronisation they have to do it all while swimming, staying afloat, moving quickly in the water and with a smile on their face 😵 mad respect
Russia straight comes with Epic Music, so I'm already rooting for them lol. I love Epic Music.

I didn’t see that as her being rude, she was just pointing out the fact, but I get how you might think she’s rude
@@chioma2844 No it is rude. She singled her out in the group and made it a point to mention how she always gets emotional. She could have just said "and some of the girls are even getting emotional at having won a medal, yada yada yada". This commentator is just rude in general though. She seemed to like making snappy comments whenever she couldn't think of anything else to say
That performance from Russia is astounding 😳
The Russians literally look like ballerinas in water. Their size, frame, movements, all ballerina esque... amazing

The russians are just machines of artistic sport, makes sense for their long history of doing them.
Drugs
Just came from watching a video on what it really takes to do synchronized swimming and I have so much more respect, but I also flinch way more knowing these beautiful swimmers probably have had multiple concussions in their lifetime.
I loved the energy of the Brazil team it had so much life to it
my friends and i when our swim coach said we could do whatever we wanted for the last 5 minutes of practice
bruh that's pretty disrespectful
Catherine Prystupa-Maule - I think they’re just saying that during those last few minutes they will just mess around and things. They’re not trying to say that they can do this or that these Olympic qualifying swimmers r only as talented as a high school swimmer. As a high school swimmer myself, I agree with them 100%. Those last few minutes it’s fun to go mess around and pretend ur good at things like this. That’s all, no hate 👍🏼
@@catherineprystupa-maule814 it's literally a joke lmfaooo
Catherine Prystupa-Maule lighten up omg... it is a pretty funny visual if u allow ur self to see it.
@@catherineprystupa-maule814 Have you never pretended to be good at a particular sport for the sake of fun? If not, what a sad childhood..
Have a great day and I hope this helped you
Only synchronized swimmers understand how much work they’ve put in to be this synchronized ❤️
