  • I got this guitar from a friend. It has some issues because it wasn't being used and wasn't getting proper care. I'm attempting to fix some of the issues. So this is kind of an experiment for me because I'm trying to find out what works and what doesn't work. I thought it would be fun to document the process I hope you liked the video because more will be coming😊😁. let me know what you think in the comments. Yeah the body if its still sealed can be cleaned with soap and water as for contact cleaner i hear deoxit is what most techs use might try taking a q tip or tooth brush to get in and remove some of the corrosion and i use proline lemon oil fretboard cleaner

Odane Lewis , man the same result happened to me when recently with this same product . I know their Co. can be reached ;,However ,I’m irritated that I have a fine Ibanez TBX150H Guitar Amp Head . All I was wanting was to spray short bursts into the 1/4” in/out female jacks . But after the usual waiting for the product to ( what’s the words ?) dissipate evaporate , dry ) I then reconnected the Amp plus New Speaker Cable from Head to 4x12 and it’s not the Same . Now there’s a evident noise in the speakers even the potentiometers . I well , it may pass . But it’s not gonna irritate WD-40 to discontinue their product . Thanks for this helpful experiment . Yes to the type of cleaner but the price was lower than another .Sounds like the wiring at the components come to overthink of it , here at UA-cam Chsnnel . Good Video . I like it and Subscribe to your channel for a while .

This Electric Guitar with sunburst is identical to a 1963-64 Gibson Melody Maker with fat frets and the same bridge . I’m watching thank you much , and for what may be on your Channel .

The amp jack is probably the problem. Good to service the guitar anyway.

This noise is 60 Cycle Hum. Something is with ground connection at guitar wirering.
Input jack is not the reason.

Certainly doesn't take long for the WD-40 contact cleaner to work (visually).

If it needs some repairs, it’s not in mint condition.

You made a great video, but the input jack or a very cheap ,bad guitar cord is your problem. Get a quality guitar cord before doing anything else
