    The "mixture" lever in the 208 it's actually the condition lever, it's mislabeled in the sim...

      It's mislabeled in the balloons but correct in the pedestal.

    I love this video, it is super helpful and provides a great "handy dandy" challenge to "choo-choo" along with. Please keep them coming along with your signature style which is delightful. Thank You.

    I like to think of the caravan as a flying passenger van.

      Dont know if you guys cares but if you are bored like me atm you can stream pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my girlfriend for the last few months :)

    I love flying this plane into grass strips in PNG. What C-208 mod are you using ? Thanks for the video.

    Great stuff! Could you do a video about what to think about when flying non pressurized aircraft? Climb rate, descent rate etc.

      I seconds this, it would be good to know safe speeds and I like the reference to passengers during the videos 👍

    Dumb question: how is an rnav approach a challenge? The AP follows the GPS right? I know VOR flying is difficult because you need to think about freqs etc.

    Why does MSFS keep returning the pilot to the "9-year-old" view, looking at the edge of the glareshield? Seems you keep having to jack the seat up to see the nose. I have seen this before in other vids. What the fix for a stable seat height pls?

    • @blancfilms
      @blancfilms 3 роки тому

      You can change the default camera height in the simulator camera settings

      You can set custom views for each plane with cntr-alt-number1-10... Pull them up with alt-number1-10.. They save for each plane.

    They finally fixed the C 208 in the Sim well better than it used to be.

    Think you should use the inertial separator when landing on grass fields. But what about the fuel economy? Everyone says it burns too much (not just this one (DA62) if you do as you do with full power), where do you find economy cruise speed and such?

    • @hawkexo
      @hawkexo 3 роки тому

      Ditto on the Inertial Separator. I came to ask if there is a reason it wasn't mentioned. Maybe I've been overdoing it, but I have been using it for ALL takeoffs and landings. I usually run it in conjunction with my flaps so I don't forget to activate and deactivate it. It can keep gravel from getting sucked into the turbine, but I've also read that it can help in the event that a bird gets sucked into the inlet.

    So... parking brake released and the aircraft won't move. Am I bugged or did I forget something?

    Curious about the mods you're using, as well as the reason for avoiding use of the yaw damper?

    • @sox5131
      @sox5131 3 роки тому +1

      Yaw damper doesn't work in the Cessna 208.

      I believe your referencing "sim rate" try searching for "increase sim rate" don't forget to also do the same for "decrease" handy for quickly traversing on auto pilot 👍

    That push back on a running engine Caravan is one of the most ridiculous thing I've ever saw in flight simulation!
    Other important procedure totally forgotten: before engine start in EVERY airplane is necessary to apply PARKING BRAKES!!!!

    Are you allowed to fly that close to the mountain IRL? if yes that is nerve racking

    • @hawkexo
      @hawkexo 3 роки тому +2

      LOL - of course you are. VFR clearance rules over sparsely populated areas are very liberal. You should see how close glider pilots get to the mountains when ridge flying.
