Every single member of this band has such an individual and original/innovative style. Toska really stand out as an individual band to me. No one quite like them. Gives me hope for the future of progressive music.
I am a blues guitarists, so this is very different from what I typically listen to. Holy shit. This is AMAZING. I only know rabea from youtube mainly at andertons but wow. That first song moved me. I felt that shit
Dude I found rabea’s music through Andertons a couple years ago. I’m not sure any knew music for me has ever blown me away emotionally like this dude. If you haven’t heard the studio version of it yet you’ve absolutely got to go listen to it. The whole album of fire by the silos is like one seamless hourlong track of this. As popular and well known as toska and dorje have become on UA-cam and elsewhere they’re still absolutely criminally underrated for how famous they actually should be with music like this. As much as I love breaking Benjamin and other bands with huge global tours I’m sick and tired of seeing them get all the mainstream marketing and not these guys and so many others in the indie community.
@@rknisple HOLY SHIT . . . ! ! ! THIS BAND is soooo ridiculous . . . OMG . . . ! Sorry . . . I'm a 52 years young REAL HEADBANGER from crazy Germany . . .
I already bought the tickets for next year. The Lineup is so great for example: Terror, Obituary, Mayhem, Wormrot, 1914, Asphyx, Author and Punisher, Devin Townsend, Me and That Men, Necrophobic, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals and so on
Kind of like Animals As Leaders without the 8-string guitars--I'm digging it. Yes, not a typical BA band by any means, and that's a good thing. Actual melody and musical ability still go a long way in my world, but then again I *am* an old fart who thinks that most of the bands that appear in this festival sound alike anyway--remember the days when you could tell bands apart because they each had their own sound as opposed to blending in with the rest? I do. Refer to what I just said about my being an old fart, though, mind.
@Lazy Cadaverevent's quality keeps rising as well as the price, but ask Hellfest or Wacken attendees how much is one beer there and you'll change your mind right away
@Lazy Cadaver To each their own, I agree with you that autodrome didn't really fit to the certain area's vibe, but if some people enjoyed it, why would I do anything else than ignoring that blot in the landscape? By the way, are you talking about this year's edition? Because as far as I remember it was replaced by the junktown. Ofc, I would refine the general atmosphere at my discretion, but if everybody would do that different way, then I think that what we get is a pretty fair compromise. Moreover, they really did a huge step forward by opening ossuary and the rest of these long, narrow and pitch dark passages plus a bunch of chillout chambers. It really made every single nuisance up for me.
@Lazy Cadaver do you understand how much work it is to mix the video&audio from raw material and to put it into this form? i really do not think so. Please let's just appreciate all the videos they are making. that work is not for free.
I watch this because one day I hope to simply do something similar in front of a monthly meeting of the Red Hat club. Just me , muh acoustic, and the heaviest damn tone I can get out of muh Vox Amplug AC30 METAL. Rock on Bea ✊
Sadly, that is SOP for the metal bass player in general. Then again, most of them don't do anything interesting other than standing there windmilling their hair and looking goofy as they madly bash away. Guys like Alex Webster are rare exceptions to this rule, sadly.
Dave has his bass so down tuned that the strings look like they're gonna be ripped off they're so slinky lol How is he staying in tune 😂😂🤣🤣 I feel like Bea has been listening to newer Opeth too I hear alot of influence from them
That's what happens when you brutally assault your strings ;) You can definitely tell he's influenced by Ryan Martinie and Jon Stockman. They all have suuuper heavy string attack and the tone benefits from it. Hit your strings like a bitch and you're going to get a bitch tone basically.
Oh and you've got some guy rambling on about some stuff in the ladies room. Think you better let him out of the can. Or at least buy him a cupie doll and get his picture next to Spiderman.
This sound they present in the videos is a little misleading, I thought it was the same as the live sound jajaja! Hope they sort that out for this upcoming edition.
Its so sad to know that Toska are no more but Thank you Ben, Dave and Bea for such quality prog rock. You guys will always be regarded as legends.
Love how Dave puts his entire existence into playing every note.
That snare is just as beautiful as that Guitar tone

as epic as 16 minutes can possibly get. loved it
Bea!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love Rabea’s playing and his sig guitar. It’s so comfortable to play.
Keep kicking ass boys.
I need about another hour or so of this. They’re amazing.
even bass and drum are worldclass, oh my god they rule
Didn't know about this band. Now I know to watch them next time they're there again.
0:00-7:25 Congress
7:25-8:18 Interlude
8:18-16:18 Abomasum
Thanks for the playlist; I was looking for it.

Woah! This is so good! I'm so glad I found this!
Very surprised to see these guys playing Brutal, but happy!
in love with this band, this is my first time listen them
First time hearing these guys, I'm an instant fan for sure!
That one dude from that one channel about guitar on guitar?
Yup, Rabea Massaad :)
@@niels__vdb I thought I recognized him! It's great to hear him play his own music and to have it be as bad ass and original as it is. Liking it!
Bruatl Assault Crowd: [A little cofused]
Okay, cool, where are the blast beats!?
Although if you check out the crowd by the end of the set, they're totally into Toska :)!
Amazing gig, from a great band.
We'll see, what the future holds, 4 them and the Fans.
I would have loved to see this…unfortunately I’ll never get the chance to see these guys. Thank you, Toska. Thank you, Rabea.
That guitar tone tho
Brilliant set, guys.
These guys are epic!!
Toska é perfeito!!!
Incredible!
More bass please! everything else is spot on. But yeah, there are those FOH engineers which like a thin(clean, they say) mix.
greats masters super band great show 🎸🤘

Wow!

4:54 that fill is so... Gavin Harrison-ish
underrated
Where can I purchase the full shows?
I wish however mixed this would've boosted 140Hz or something. But still great as always :)
Sick group
The Camera Op really loves Dave, and i dont blame them

unfortunately I did not hear them :( sounds awesome..

Where can I get that same snare? It sounds like a weapon.
It's all about the mix man, u can make ur own snare sound like this a little bit hhhhh
Looks like a gretsch bell brass
IIRC Ben mentioned this was a Yamaha Recording Custom brass snare 14x6.5".

Amplug AC30 METAL. Rock on Bea ✊
you can surprisingly get a stupid heavy tone with an AC30, just put a noise gate and a TS9 before it and dime the gain, and you'll be all set 😊
I'm feeling the shit
I would gladly pay for Mayhem 2017, BA 22.
People on youtube:
perfect band.
People at the concert:
boring band
the sad thing is alot of there stuff is very moshable :/ just to much groove and not enough blast
Holy sh1t, I am so sad I missed Toska in CZ ! I will regret 4ever. Lolz
the bass is barely audible (for a great bassist he is)... :( but great video anyways
it's a shame
I can hear bass with no problem.

@@MaskedRiderChris In this case, the bass is much quieter in the mix than it is on their records though. I guess that was what some people referenced
@@bremsnix Gotcha!
The riff which starts at 14:30 is fucking epic! Rabea my idole lol
What kind of bass is that?
Bea looks like a damn giant next to Dave, maybe cause Dave is always slumped over.
Wena la wea!!! 🤘
As a bassist I hope Dave was at least being blasted through PA.
whatever was recording couldn't handle the amount of dave
Can confirm we heard plenty of Dave in the crowd. But the soundwork at the festival wasn't that great across the board.
...and Justice for All???
What I call metal fusion
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww

Too bad the live sound was awful, just like almost everything on the right stage last year. And they're called Toska not Tosca
This sound they present in the videos is a little misleading, I thought it was the same as the live sound jajaja! Hope they sort that out for this upcoming edition.
The sound @ Meshuggah and Heilung though, was fantastic.

Тоска( точка) ._.
Bass guitar is too low
Fantastic performance. Someone needs to slap the sound guy though. Bass had no balls at all.
This sucks no liriks no solos
fuck of poser, you don't even know how to write lyrics. You are probably secretly listening to taylor swift
Then why u listening?
It's called instrumental music. Bea absolutely rips solos to pieces in the right context, this is not one of those contexts, and it's beautiful
