(for those that don't know) John Hooper is one of the few Lamborghini certified Master Technicians (as well as a host of other rare certifications) that is still in the game after nearly 30 years; from a time when techs only trained in Sant'Agata - at the factory. A protégé of the greatest technicians and Lamborghini minds that the world has ever seen. One could say that when it comes to someone worth listening to about the technical aspect of these cars, there is no one more relevant is the US. Amazing that Curated has him on the team. Would love to see a longer, more in depth video about technical instead of production numbers and design options/differences.
I LOVED my 06 Murci. That car was a rockstar & attracted people everytime I took it out. Young, old, people from all walks of life loved that car. These cars really bring people together.
I met Mr. Hooper during my visit to Curated. You guys had closed early that day and my friend and I had failed to realize that while we were there. While my buddy was in the bathroom he took the time to speak to me even though you guys had been closed for roughly 10 minutes at that point. He was happy to answer any questions I had about whatever I asked. Now I know who he is, all I can say it was an absolute honor to be there and be able to speak to him. Thank you again for all you do for these cars.
I'd like to hear a comparison between the murcielago and the aventador non manual as far as maintenance and driving experience. If you were to have one of them to use as a semi daily driver which one would be the most enjoyable and forgiving as far as maintenance and upkeep over 5-8k miles in a year?
It was rumoured that the 2002-2003 cars made more power due to their different engine management and components. This may be why the 03 feels much better than later cars.
It's a pity that Lamborghini seems to have moved away from fitting Alpine audio systems into their cars after the Diablo went out of production. Those Alpine/Lambo posters from the '80s and '90s are iconic!
Amazing. You have one of the most knowledgeable people on Murci’s standing with one of the best technicians on Earth 🌍. I stand with John. The manual gearbox is the best transmission I have ever used in any vehicle period.
I bug John about this a lot. The first time I ever took notice of a Lamborghini was when I saw the movie "Dumb and Dumber" as a kid. It's one of those images that's burned into your mind. Bright colored, mean looking Diablo that just popped against that Aspen snow. I even remember that their briefcase full of "IOU's" contained one for $400,000 for that car. That was the moment myself and I imagine many others, knew what a Lamborghini was. I would like to see you do some content on that very car. What year was it? Color and specs? Who's was it and where is it now? "I like it a lot"
That would have been a 1991/1992 Diablo rear wheel drive -(non-VT) - Rosso over Tan. Current owner and status unknown I think it was $275,000 in the movie if you watch it closely again. But that's $275k back in 1994 lol !! "There you go"
John I love your channel in the US you’re the dealer with the best cars your ability to chase and show the most unique cars is legendary… garage goals for me in every direction in your showroom
Never thought i'd hear John being schooled about vintage Lamborghini's, first time for everything! Personally the Murcielago is my favourite car of all time so this clip will get watched a few times by myself zero doubt!
Wicked. Thank you guys so much. It makes sence now. Now to win the jackpot and ill be in touch for more details on which 640 and aventador to get. And the other v12's and 10' and what ever orgasmic f1 sound generating machine
Is it possible to know how many were RHD? Would those be derived from the Asia/RoW figure or include some destined for Europe too? I'm interested to know how many UK RHD spec models were built
Also, I remember watching one of Ed Mondi’s YT videos where he showed a private collection of a bunch of manual LP640s. Will link the video if I I can find it.

The fact that Ed isn’t reading off of a script and that’s pure enthusiasm!! Incredible!!

Ed is *PHENOMENAL* with his knowledge and passion of Lamborghini... especially Murci's
Have you driven a 650-4 Roadster before? Feel like those ones never get talked about
This is my favorite kind of content. I could watch hours of this.
Glad you like it!
What other videos would you like to see us film with Ed Bolian?

I would like to see the complete history of the LM002 from concept on up. I know that is not an Ed thing but would still like to see it.
Dumb and Dumber Diablo. What was it? Who's was it and who has it now?
Tell him you have a Z8 or BMW M1 for him to review, and when he shows up, make his drive a BMW Isetta
I’d like to see which wing on the Murcielago SV is easier to live with in terms of looking out the back, the Low Speed Wing, or the High Speed Wing
Ed is a dam encyclopedia 😭😭
Lol
Yep
Right, be it beaver or hydro-electric, he's got all the facts!
Some might say edcyclopedia lol

Masterclass indeed!! Great knowledge all around, thank you for sharing. Now I feel stupid not buying a Murci when they were in the low 100s lol.
Don't we all!
Great video! As a Murcielago owner myself, I definitely learned allot from watching this. Thank you.

They're so good they handicapped the market value of them!!!! Thanks ed
John Hooper is exactly the sort of Texan sounding, Miami livin, Lamborghini talkin man I want to hear more of on this channel.
Hahaha there will be more content with him in the restoration department!
I wish there was this sort of passion for the manual Gallardo, as well as cars like the Jalpa

Yes it is! We got it back in December
I saw that it sold recently. Price wasn't listed. But with some people asking 400-500k for theirs, I bet this one set a record.
The first time i saw Ed's Verde Draco Murcielago i told myself I'll fully respray any car i get in that cplour
The expert curator didn't know much of the information given!
The so called expert curator!!!
😂🤣😂🤣🦋🦋😂🤣😂🤣
John's expertise is in the pre-2000s Lamborghinis, hence why he brought in Ed & Hooper for this one!
Amazing video boys. I really plan on purchasing a 1st gen gallardo in the next 3 years.
Good choice! Manual is the way to go
Ferrari FXX in the Background? John is going insane!
6:35 for the love of God, John, you better put that on the T-shirt!
John looked like he was about to weep.
Wicked. Thank you guys so much. It makes sence now. Now to win the jackpot and ill be in touch for more details on which 640 and aventador to get. And the other v12's and 10' and what ever orgasmic f1 sound generating machine
We look forward to it!
I'm looking for an early E-gear. Any coming into inventory?
I wish instead of college classes, I could be getting Lamborghini classes instead. This is much more interesting.
That's a curriculum we can get behind 😂
Good knowledge.
We need a full story on that orange manual LP670 from Singapore... It's a huge discovery! Now we have one more left to identify...
Great knowledge from these guys. Any else spot the RS200 lurking in the background?
Great vid guys thx

Am I wrong or from the list at 7:21, it seems like there is 1 Reventon with manual transmission ?
That’s Ed’s favorite shirt
Hahaha might be
My question is exactly what was done to the engine to go from 640 hp to 660+? Between the LP 640 and the SV?
Superb.Could you do one on the Aventador perhaps? Thanks.
Also, I remember watching one of Ed Mondi’s YT videos where he showed a private collection of a bunch of manual LP640s. Will link the video if I I can find it.
My 2004 is in balloon white
Also had a 2005 with factory ceramic brakes
In uk
Nice!! Beautiful color
Is like John, John & Ed were Italians Lamboghini techs in their past life.
John Hooper is a Lamborghini master technician! One of the best in the USA
Miura SV (Spinto Veloce) / Diablo SV (Sport Veloce) / Murci & Avent SV (Super Veloce) / Avent SVJ (Super Veloce Jota) .
