Thank you for keeping Dr. Heiser's teachings in the spotlight. The last time i cried for someone not in my immediate family was Dr. Heiser went to the Lord - it was a selfish cry for sure. Thanks.
Fantastic.... I love "Ring Them Bells". I felt so incredibly blessed by everything Michael Heiser wrote/taught. Heiser, Chuck Missler, NT Wright.... God has blessed us in these end times with some amazing messengers. These teachers have unveiled so much of the Word that has so much meaning and depth and reveals so much about our awesome and wonderful Creator. I hope and pray that many seekers of truth finds "Ring Them Bells" and allows the wisdom to pour into their souls. I will continue to watch, listen and absorb as much as possible and look forward to the day that Yeshua the Messiah comes again in glory to rule and reign forever and ever!!!

As a partial pretist the idea of the prophects speaking on one hand of a disobedient old Jerusalem and also looking forward to a obedient Jerusalem makes perfect sense. I often already read my Bible, especially prophecy, trying my best to parse if the details, chronology, etc line up with it being one of these two categories. Since we know the old Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 ad it can help us to see an understanding of the church as the obedient Jerusalem as well as parse that from eschatological new Jerusalem. Cool to see those difference discussed here.

Thank you SO much for this video. And this one is especially good. So needed and timely! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. This is one of my favorite UA-cam/Christian channels combining the work of my three favorite teachers and introducing me to some I've never heard before. I know they generally speak for themselves, but I have a hard time concentrating on such deep topics when there's a lot of movement and/or text going on in the visuals at the same time. It's great to be able to lay back and concentrate on the audio without missing something important on the screen. God bless you and this channel! It keeps getting better! 🙏✝❤ PS: Thank you also for keeping Dr. Heiser's work alive and relevant! I heard that he wanted to be "useful." His sharing the work that was previously accessible only to scholars in the academic community and making it understandable to laypeople is what helped the Bible both to make sense to me as a single complete narrative (and help me understand why I didn't understand it before!), as well as to remove all my doubts and commit myself with 100% faith to God and to our King Jesus! I'm so grateful that the Lord led me to his work and used him to encourage me & so many other people to _enjoy_ reading & studying the Bible ... as well as leading me to Tim Mackie, more recently to NT Wright, and to this channel.

Great topic - Just as none can keep the law perfectly, no temple can serve as ultimate center of worship (John 4:21), no one nation/culture exhausts God's creativity. Its failure was a fortunate fall

Enoch is the glue of so many things. Enoch was a divinely inspired text for a lot longer than it's been taken out. Without Enoch there is nothing but ignorance concerning so many biblical narratives. Being ignorant is exactly where the bad guys want you to be.
What??? It's thanks to finding Dr. Heiser on UA-cam that I finally can _understand_ the Bible and _read_ it at long last as a complete story from Genesis to Revelation, recognizing how the entire Old Testament references, predicts, and leads _directly_ to Jesus and His Kingdom, which helped me to see that there is no difference between the God of the Old versus New Testaments and that there are _no_ contradictions in the Bible (arguments atheists cite because they don't _understand_ the full story of the Bible and haven't read it in or studied the original languages or the context in which it was written, in order to cause doubt in peoples' minds & turn people like me into atheists and agnostics and my father into an "anti-theist")! It's Dr. Heiser whom God led me to at just the right time for me to restore my faith (and then some!) and feel _excited_ to read the _whole_ Bible from beginning to end, even, God willing, with however much time I have left in _this_ world, to learn Hebrew & Greek--and, ideally, Aramaic since I've always been a "language geek" with an inherent talent for learning languages, as well as a strong interest in history--so that I too can read the Bible in its original languages & context. Which made it possible for me to have 100% confidence that Jesus truly is the only way to God and WHY, that He _is_ God, with the Holy Spirit's help being able to _understand_ the Bible, and to engage in regular prayer with 100% certainty that God is listening & even answering, and led to my finally getting off the fence & being baptized ... _on purpose_ this time! Also, listening to his Naked Bible podcast led to my finding the work of _other_ excellent Bible scholars like the ones this channel frequently cites & getting the answers to all my questions that previously posed stumbling blocks for me. Where are you getting that "statistic" about Dr. Heiser talking more about Enoch than the Bible from? Have you read all his books, listened to all his Naked Bible podcast episodes & all the presentations & lectures posted here both on _his_ channel and _many_ others? Yes, he talked about the book of Enoch, and he wrote two companion books (well _after_ "Unseen Realm") to help people who are interested in what the New Testament authors who quoted it understand what they were referring to: a _very_ well-known & widely read book among the Jewish people of Jesus's time that fills in some blanks & explains a lot about the "weird" parts of the Bible that many pastors tend to skip over because those confusing, "weird" parts don't really matter, while an M.Div. degree covers a _lot_ of material, so it's not until/unless a person goes on for a Ph.D. that they start getting into the really deep stuff. ("If it's weird, it's important," was one of Mike Heiser's sayings). But Enoch was _far_ from the main focus of his writings and teachings. Dr. Heiser also said on several occasions that he did _not_ believe Enoch should be canonical. It's merely informative as to how the audience of the New Testament writers were thinking in the time and place in which it was written & how _they_ would have understood it. In fact, it's _quoted_ in the book/letter of Jude (vv. 14-16), who is believed to have been one of Jesus's brothers (according to the study Bible I've been reading which also mentions that the name of the book was changed to "Jude" as opposed to "Judas" in order to make it abundantly clear that the author was _not_ to be confused with either Judas Iscariot or any other Judas since Judas was a very common name in first-century Judea--like Mary and James, of which, in addition to Jesus's other brother who became the leader of the Jerusalem church, there were _two_ disciples named James in addition to two Simons) and referenced in 2 Peter 2:17. I think there are other references to 1 Enoch as well (at _least_ one other), but I don't remember where off-hand. Although it doesn't matter because the book of Enoch isn't even mentioned in this video!
