- I can't quite get over how much an emotional rollercoaster these 2 episodes were! I absolutely adore Nami and completely understand why she was so ruthless this whole time! It's about to go down next episode and I can't wait for Luffy and the gang to get their hands on Arlong!!

the comment that said "nobody dies in One Piece", that's a meme, bruh. cause there are people who die, it's just not an every episode occurence. and i have recently came into understanding of why that is, 1. Oda doesnt like to kill characters when they can be used in the story later and 2. his Grandma hates when Manga is full of killing, so he held himself back.

Naruto is Shonen and there is a TON of death in it, so no i dont think that is a valid reason. besides Japan doesnt sugarcoat the real world to their kids like those in the west, hence why you see Adult Language in Shonen@@cbctebasrajeb81

Yes, rarely people in the series actually die. However there are death in the past. I think most of the deaths in the series were actually in the past. At least when it comes to important characters. Living characters of the present rarely die, but there are exceptions.
These are the episodes that solidify if you are ride or die for the series. If you made it this far and love it, then the show will be one of the best catch-up experiences of your life. So much peak on the horizon.

One of the things that never get attention is that Nojiko got her tattos so that Nami was not alone.
I notoiced the detail and its incredibly heart warming, we all need a sister like Nojiko!

A friend of mine had nagged me to no end to watch One Piece, years ago. I did but begrudgingly at first, since I didn't like the too cartoonish drawing style and things seemed too silly for my tastes.
But these were the moments that changed forever my perspective and made me a huge One Piece fan. Nami's story arc is one of the best ones ever!

The nobody dies is a lie. Some viewers just watch with their eyes closed and want Luffy to be the best but he kills all the time just not always on screen it’s like spider man 😂

In One Piece death among characters seems to be rare. (I haven't finished it) My understanding is that, character deaths shift the story more when they are permanent and affect the surviving characters more.

i think in an interview somewhere oda said that it's hard to write a story about pirates with parents, so that's why a lot of the pirates in his story don't have that father or mother figure around. Also most deaths in the series are flashbacks!

“The reason I don't want to draw scenes where people die is because I want to draw a party after the battle. If someone dies, you can't have an enjoyable party. A party is my ideal form of friendship. I want to end with One Piece with a big party.”
Oda avoids meaningless deaths and only kills off characters when necessary for the story, as he wants to end the series with a big party and a focus on freedom and joy.

Nobody dies in one piece...... Except its a backstory, in backstorys prepare for the worst because NOBODY is safe.
That he marked a girl as his property is a small example of how dark one piece can become. And this isn't the only time she'll happen, nor is she the first girl he'll hit.

GKun! this is where this show finds its footing. every episode before this was just a buildup to this moment early on and it all comes together. why nami was selfish about money, luffys development, and sanji zoro and luffy riding out for their captain. luffy had to gather his crew first to even be in this situation, and thats the path hes gotta take to become king of the pirates. Nami's backstory is really what ties everything together and its one of the most iconic moments in the series no doubt. this is what makes most people a fan of the show and stick to it, even tho it can be goofy it has its serious moments that just get to you. Luffy was always down to help, but he just needed to hear nami ask him for help to help. luffy isnt gonna help you unless you ask for it. and he will be goofy but if you mess with his friends he just gets serious. truly remarkable. if you enjoyed this there will be many more moments like this in the future !this is basically what the heart of one piece is about

Normally I avoid reaction channels because it feels like they are leeching off of the original creator's effort, but something about your charisma makes it feel like I'm seeing a friend watch the show for the first time. It's not so much "why does she trust Arlong" as it is "does she have any other choice"? She has no choice but to believe him because if she doesn't, what is there that she can do? She needs to feel like she's doing something.

The Walk to Arlong Park! One of the most memorable scenes in OP
Luffy giving her the hat is sugnificant. The hat represents his goal. But thats only half the equasion there.
Look at how he's standing when he yells out "Of Course I will!" It should look familiar.
Its the same way he stands whenever he yells out "I'm gonna be KING OF THE PIRATES!"
He's setting aside his dream so he can face her problems with the same determination.
