I have spent two exhausting weeks during the sale testing all the amps in detail and bought 3 plugins. I play with a Fender Toronado (2003) and a Jackson SLSMG Soloist (2007). Mesa Suite - great for both guitars, old school tones, gritty black metal, incredible chainsaw death metal sounds..haha, good for cleans and blues Morgan Suite - best for the Fender, incredible for stoner, doom, dirty blues, very nice cleans, extremely versatile Granophyre - best for the Jackson, it has a sound I immediately felt at home The only downside of the Omega Amp is, that it's a single channel only. Although its sound is excellent, I wish for a future update that they'd add the Obsidian to make an Omega Ampworks Suite X. This one has an incredible clean channel and would round that package up to make a versatile beast of a suite.
Great video, personally i use the soldano slo 100 for the amp and mix in the archetype petrucci for its awesome chorus and reverbs and delays. The plini is on my want list though.
I’ve got the Cali suite and the Nolly, I started with the Nolly, which I found is the easier of the two to get a decent tone from quickly, but the Cali is my favourite, it’s a bit more involved due to all the switches and the push/pull knob, but my god. There’s nothing you can’t do with it, I think with both of them, I’ve basically got all my bases covered and then some, especially if you mix and match parts from both
You have my attention ! I have been wanting to try plugins for a while now . And I own that exact guitar you are playing , so it is quite helpful to me to hear how it sounds . I think I liked the tone of the Plini plug-in the most ! And the fort in plug in sounded amazing for heavy stuff . It’s a bit mind blowing that you can get these plug-ins for such a decent price . I think if I was to get Neural DSP , I would pick the John petrucci or the Mesa boogie or Plini or Nolly or the Soldano as my guitar teacher uses that plugin and plays a real soldano amp. I thoroughly enjoyed your playing in this video dude !! Also it’s nice to see the guitars hanging up on the wall :) . They look beautiful my friend !!
Also by the way , I have read that there are plug ins that do down tuning ?? Is that what the Plini plug-in does ? That is something I really want ! I mainly play in Standard tuning and would like to experiment with other tunings ! I am considering trying Bias Fx as well because the guitarist of The Contortionist Roby Baca did a demo with it and I am pretty sure he uploaded a tone for it . I’m a big fan of the Contortionist . Though I did hear that some of the neural dsp plug-ins have patches made by some prog metal players which is cool!!
Thanks dude I'm glad it helped and you enjoyed the playing! And I'm glad you like my bit of DIY in here haha So, the Plini X and Gojira X actually both have transpose features so you can knock the whole guitar down by whatever semitone interval you want. Thanks for watching as always mate! 🤘
@@JackTaylorGuitars :)! All good , I actually found this to be a lot easier to follow than other videos I have watched about plug-ins . I do expect I will have to do some research regarding which audio interface I pick up and which monitors for audio. That’s brilliant ! In that case it’s either the Plini X or the Gojira X for me :).
@@JackTaylorGuitars Each time I hear you play it sounds excellent ! I m sure the guitar and plug-ins help but it’s all in your fingers , your creative voice for guitar and the way you play . Always a pleasure to watch your videos ! :) have an awesome week !
Brilliant Vid as always dude! Love the Rabea plugin, so much versatility to it and can get really knarly! Going off to a different brand but Mike Stringers plugin from Spiritbox is AWESOME! Keep up the great work
Cheers bro, that’s super cool of you to say! Yeah man the Rabea plugin is dope. Oh is it? I really want to try it so that’s awesome to know. Thanks again dude, have a good one! 🤘
Have you tried the Petrucci? Some good rhythm and great lead tones, however I still probably lean towards Plini for leads. Fortune nameless x also has some incredible heavy riff tone abilities
I haven't dude, no! I do want to have a go on Petrucci and Abasi but I'm kind of set at the moment with stuff that I like. Maybe for the next music I release I'll give them a try. The Nameless does seem sweet too. Thanks for the pointers man 🤘
Ive been using STL Tones amp suite which was a cheap way to get i to plugins. I tried the Morgan Neural DSP one the other day and it sounds mega but i just cant get it working right. Either latency is too bad or its just about OK but when i put a UA-cam backing track on jt kills the laptop. Ill check out the website and actually read the instructions as yours always sound so good.
I saw you using Tone Hub and it sounded great dude! But yeah, have a look at the guides on their website and you should be able to get it going alright. Hope you sort it man and thanks for watching as always 🤘
The Plini X's clean amp is also a very good "edge of breakup" amp, pretty much what I use for low to medium overdrive sound. Also get my votes as the most versatile, and pretty much the only amp suite I've been using.
@@JackTaylorGuitars Doing quite alright, hope you are too, bro! Although I swear that I don't need another amp sim, but there might be one or two more I would probably get, and I might be set for a long time after. Probably going to be both Mateus Asato's and Rabea's suite. Though that's going to be way long after I get my next guitar and fixed my motorcycle. And if I'm going to invest on portable rigs, like a pedalboard for outdoor recording, it's going to take even longer for me to actually get them Archetypes. 😂
Nice introduction for folks looking to get started - definitely some nice playing and the guitar fits the part🤘🤘 The 14 day trial is a great way to help choose and NEVER pay full price. Regular sales on any plugin on the market. I really like Petrucci which I've had a while and recently added Gojira X as I'm looking to get into some filthy riffage. I'd like to get a midi pedal as well to make best use of the pitch shifter 🤘🤘
Thanks so much my dude, I’m happy you think so! Yeah man some great advice here. I’d 100% listen to what you’re saying if I was new. Thanks again mate, I appreciate you checking the video out 🤘

Cheers man! That's interesting, I don't have either of those plugins atm so maybe I'll need to get them and give them a proper test 🤘

Gojira X is the best for me; I also enjoy Rabea for its fuzz \m/
Rabea’s archetype is super good dude. I’m a big of that too. Thanks for checking out the video bro 🤘
Gojira is the best plugin from Neural DSP. But for amazing clean tones it's got to be Archetype: Plini X!
Both super good plugins dude. Gojira is soo heavy! Thanks for checking out the video mate 🤘
Don't sleep on Petrucci for both as well
