Nice video but ALL of the captions have mistakes in them.
First captions describes members of the Royal Canadian Army, 22nd Regiment. That should read members of the Canadian Army’s Royal 22nd Regiment. Like the British Army the Canadian Army as a whole does not have a Royal Designation but many of the units and Corps do. Case in point the Royal 22nd Regiment ( or the “Van Doos” as they are known as because they are a French Canadian unit) does have the Royal designation.
Then the bridging exercise describes moving Canadian armored vehicles across the river it should have been written armoured vehicles. In Canada we use the British ‘our’ instead of the American ‘or’ in Armoured, colour, harbour etc.
Then there was the description of Canadian Forces Engineers and Italian troops doing something. In that case, the caption should have read members of the Royal Canadian Engineers and Italian Troops because the Engineers are one of those Canadian Corps that have the Royal designation.
Then at the end of the video the caption read 22nd Royal Regiment’s Airborne Battalion. That should have read the Airborne (or probably “Jump”) Company of the Light Infantry Battalion of the Royal 22nd Regiment. Each of the Canadian Army’s three Regular Force infantry Regiments has two mechanized infantry battalions and one Light Infantry Battalion. And each LIB has only one company that is designated Airborne.

The Canadian Government need to invest more into it's armed forces. They provide token budgets that does not allow for the procurement of necessary weapons systems for example the RCN should have an Expeditionary capability in the form of an LHA or LHD instead of settling for the De Wolf class OPV . The raising of amphibious Infantry Regiments for the Canadian Army will help with that Expeditionary capability. Since the focus for the CA is to remain a small combat force they should be an all around multi domain force by having Regiments and Divisions that are Airborne/Air Assault qualified to include maritime (Amphib) certified that way the CA will be able to provide adaptable and modular forces for NATO and other alliance forces when needed. The RCN and Canadian Airforce should do joint purchases of fixed wing assets in the same way that the Royal Navy and Royal Airforce did with the Harriers and now the JSF . If the idea is to have a small force then that force should be balanced flexible and lethal across the board the lack of attack helicopters and more modern Assault helicopters (NH90 UH60 for example) in adequate numbers to support Airmobile operations (Airmobile defined here as a unit Regiment or Brigade having the ability to perform both Airborne and Air Assault operations) Also the need for a MGS system since they have more wheeled combat assets than tracked but they lack within those wheeled units a dedicated FSV/MGS ability whether it be a 90mm 105mm or 120mm weapon. The CAF need to upgrade their national defense doctrine to reflect the real security threats of the 21st Century and a shoestring budget will not allow for that.

It's Canadian Army not Royal Canadian Army, and Royal 22nd Regiment / Royal 22e Régiment (the Van Doos in English slang).
Canadian Armed Forces, and it’s not Airborne, it’s Mechanized Infantry Regiment(they called them Airborne)
@@ferociousfil5747 Van Doos = 3 regular forces battalions including 2 mechanized plus one light/parachute battalions + 2 reserve forces battalions. The Canadian Armed Forces is made up of the RCAF, RCN, and Canadian Army.
@@rosolenn My bad, I did not know the 3rd battalion was light infantry and have a Jungle company, Parachute company, Mountain company and assault pioneer platoon. Such a small part of the vandoos, since the Airborne regiment was dismantled I assumed we did not have anymore Parachute troops.
@@ferociousfil5747 You know more than I do. I think each of the other regular forces regiments (RCR & PPCLI) + Spec Ops have some para, but I'm not too sure. I spent 7 yrs in the militia (reserves way back when). We have a really fine military if too small for the size of our country.

@@MsFreedom4us India abstained from the vote on the UN Resolution on Ukraine , which means it didnt support russia either, has called for peace and a ceasefire there, which would incl russia, and hasnt supported russia militarily in any form . oh and is strategic rivals with china ,whom putin tried, and failed,to get them to meet together , and India is in the Quad with the US , Australia and Japan

There's a Canadian Brigade in Ukraine forces which is only made of Canadian Volunteer. Also, not fightning in Ukraine is the best way to avoid WW3. Canadian forces went in Portugal for a ally exercice. Those footage was made before the war.. For now, Canadian Forces are in Poland, Latvia and Lithuania, ready to fight if needed. Do not forget that Canadian Armed Forces was the last NATO forces to leave Ukraine. Operation Name: Operation Unified.
