    _Fuzileiros_ is normally translated as _Marines,_ although the actual translation is Riflemen. They are tough people, very strictly selected, capable to endure about everything, very well trained and well armed enough. Don't snub at their G3 rifles; they preferred to keep them with a few upgrades instead of the Army's new FN SCAR L and H, and they know what they're doing.

    • @karuchokikete7722
      @karuchokikete7722 6 місяців тому +10

      It is comparable to the US Marines as far as ops are concerned, thus, it is easier to associate with that group than to do a direct translation of the word. I would call them Marines due to the fact that although the literal translation is Rifleman, on the other hand, what they do is the same as the US Marines. Thus, we may call them PT Marines.

      Is very well explained since portuguese were known to mix tecnology and culture with natives and other civilizations they encountered, by not being arrogat, learned and adapted knoledge to their needs allowing small nation to defeat larger enemy companies both land and sea.
      Portuguese historically like Spanish are well known for their naval, and guerrilha tatics both used them against moors even with less tecnology, to defeat larger enemy force well equiped at contrary that in history may tell moors were well equiped and trained, so iberian christians developed guerrilha warfare to weaken enemy supply routs and spread mayhem in enemy lines aswell ambushing enemy patrolls making loose morale, at sea the evident warfare in sieges in coastal assaults and long age of reconquista developed tatics and tecnologies mixing all from mediterranian like moors and arabs, hebraic comerciants, and roman inheritance both made sea and land warfare unique in Iberia, while in longer peace Portugal developed more those tecnologies spending more resources in research while its neighbours Iberian christian countries were fighting moors and themselves to make a unite kingdom in Iberia spending resources at war.

Lithuania (like other ex-USSR countries) just seems to be an overall great country despite how small it is (and Portugal itself is a small country). Despite how little i know about the country itself it just seems like a great place to live in with great people! Every modern country that has navy force learned throught Portugal, to hold the world and being most powerfull military force had first to develop sea warfare, portugueses known 70% our planet is Sea, so dominating oceans would mean dominate Earth, Portugal, Spain, Holand, Ingland, and USA learned through portuguese tecnology and sea experience and developed their knolegde from portuguese, is explained since Portugal, was the oldes country in the Europe, had contact heavly with Berber and Hebraic and was European christian aswell, when Iberia was part of a Reconquista both Portugal and spanish kingdoms developed their tecnology during warfare and in case of Portugal, passed a long time in peace, the portuguese had part of their court members elected in concelhos wich many were simple experient craftsman to represent the populance non noble owner, that peace time, and direct connection in court with both noble and comoner made both theory and pratical approaches avayable, in knoledge about navegation, fishermen gave pratical knoleged to form up our navegators while other kingdoms only higher society member knew good theory but missed pratical knoledge, all Global empires and nowdays most powerfull countries are at same time in military naval potencies, due to that inheritance, Spanish learned Ports tecnology hiring crew and developed their naval knoledge, many of their early navegators were portuguese, Turkish after Diu made important naval victories against Portuguese yet loosing the war by hiring portuguese navegators that were prisoneers giving them land title and treasury.
      Holand absorved portuguese tecnology, and England inherited later aswell any gave their own tecnologies but ports gave them basics and previous top tecnology that allowed their own development to Empire.
      When a empire is weakening other takes its place, no other empire appeared in the previous golden age empire only rose from its ashes.

    Portugal (kingdom at the time) created the concept of navy troops before the portuguese "fuzileiros" most navys would transport army units from one place to another or just use their own crew to go ashore and do a raid. However portuguese military liders in 15 century understood that army troops were not the best choice to do coastal invasions and using the ships crews was just....well idiotic. So they created the first navy troops in the world, the de facto first marine force.....The "Fuzileiros" navy core. So when they march.....they say "Fuzos........(Cal out)....From the Sea......

    The rotation of Portuguese military assets in Lithuania and other countries allows the entire corps of marines and F16s, among others, to respond promptly in greater numbers if Putin's fascist Russia tries to invade Lithuania, Romania or Moldavia, among others.
    I don't know why the marines aren't present during the winter months. We have military mountain units, the Rangers, who are trained to withstand extreme cold.
    Greetings from Portugal
