I had a marathon catch up for your channel gosh I'm so glad you are showing us what your doing i love watching you learn as you go this is the best you have to be a jack of all trades for sure ..i think you and the missus are fab
Don’t worry about if you’re doing the fencing “correct”. Everyone that has a non decorative fence has to rework/repair theirs regularly. You’re doing great, getting it done.
Great cleaning job on the barn look good. Enjoy watching your channel and wish I was 50 years younger and had the equipment that's out today to do the work. Thanks and good luck with your homestead.
GLAD YOU GIRL HELP YA WORK ON STUFF, MINE WOULD ONLY HELP SPEND MY PAYCHECK, LOL, FOR WHAT ITS WORTH, ON TOP OF YOUR WOODEN POSTS, CUT YA A 45 OR SO AND SLAP A LIL TAR ON IT, THE SNOW CANT SET ON IT AND RAIN WILL ROLL OFF, AROUND HERE THE TOP WILL ROT BEFORE THE BOTTOM, BUT ITS LOOKIN GOOD
I've been a carpenter for over 50 years. if you hold your hammer at the end of the shaft with your thumb pointed along the shaft driving nails and staples, in fact using the hammer in general is just so much easier. it may take a while to get used to this but it's well worth it.
Good Wood there doing your fencing. I tip on T post you can measure them and then put a shot up spray paint on them so when you were driving you don't need to keep taking your driver off and once you find how far apart you want them you can use a rope was a piece of steel on the end and drag it and it's at the last post you know your good. Happy Farming.
Thinking about putting barbed wire on bottom inside of fence to keep dog from digging under. Do you think this is a good or bad idea? Worried about dog getting cut, or do you think once they figure it out they will avoid the fence? Thanks
Good job!! You need fencing pliers too!!! I use two hammers to stretch barb wire. Long ago we got a barb wire handler someone had put together. It uses two plow discs as wheels with a steel rod as the axle. The axle has holes across the pipe to keep the discs upright. An old push mower handle is attached to the axle on both ends, and the roll of wire goes between the discs. Its easy to drag across rough ground and I just park it in the barn to store. Hope this makes sense!!!!! LOL
A tip after pulling the wire tight and nailing it to the post leave 10 inches of wire and split the 2 wires then wrap those wires around the post and twist them in opposite directions on the barb-wire.
if you are planning on getting goats, I would strongly suggest you put on stran of electric fence on the inside of the field fence. Otherwise, the goats will climb on your fence and tear it down.

Fence stretchers is what you're in need of. Also maybe fence pliers.

Good job you two! Your wife is MOTIVATED!
Pick yourself up a wire stretcher at Tractor Supply. You will use many times. Looks good!

Good idea, thanks.
The small addition barn would be great for your goats !
Hi..... Thank you for sharing your video homestead 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 🎥👍👍👍
Tap the posts in with tractor bucket, they go in like butter.
Y'all did awesome job hope the best with the farm animals
Use your front loader with the forks to push your posts down when frozen
May I suggest a wire gripper or vise grip pliers instead of the 2 by 4s. It's a lot faster.

What a great team. Nice job.
I feel your pain walking that barbed wire down the fenceline.
If installing bottom wire first, when stretching top strand it will loosen the bottom.
Good work man. Videos are awesome.

Thumbs up

Good job guys ;)

Subbing. Get a wire gripper. Speeco at TSC.
I have one now, ended up buying one shortly after I filmed this.
pulled many amile of steel cable with one
keep doing videos
Why would you put barb wire at the bottom? The goats will constantly lacerating their feet & legs
It is to keep coyotes and predators from digging under the fence.
But Brad, does it WORK? Sometimes a kid could get his head stuck under there, 😔
Bottom wire first...
klen tools bull dog grip
its melted down fords and chevys instead of virgin steel
Barbwire sux no matter what in general LoL
