I really need to know what type of metal pole you are using here for bracing. I’ve searched high and low and can’t find anything. I think this is a better solution than a wooden bracing pole. Any information on this would be extremely helpful. Already bought my cattleman pro and drill chuck for the job, but need my bracing poles to start. Thank you!
@clifford6119 thanks for sharing the info. Prepping to run a new fence for my very first time and I was wondering. How is it fastened to the wood post? Pure tension? Are the posts bored an inch or so to hold the post? Thank you sir.

I could be wrong but it looks like a 4 point and your listing at the end says its a 2 point. Which one is it? is this a class 3 wire? How come Tractor Supply sells it but no stores carry it in stock anywhere in Texas?
Whoops, looks like you are right! We did indeed install 4 pt and the wire had a Class 3 coating (or blue labels). Our Cattleman Pro barbed wire products are sold all over Texas. SASCO sells it through their network, both Cattleman Pro and StaTite50. If you need us to find a dealer for you let us know.
The process to install each wire is the same as the first wire shows. You'll want to keep you wire on the pressure side as Keith notes around minute 2:20. Because we are going around a curve we altered the pressure side to the non-pressure side. For straight runs you would keep it all on the pressure side.
I was wondering that also . Do take the roll of wire off the 4 wheeler and go underneath the top wire to change sides of the post ? I would have also liked to see the wire stays that you use between posts .
My thumb feels a lot better just looking at the stapler. But Lord, it's expense. Perhaps Milwaukee makes one that I can use all of my M18 batteries with?
14g not the 15.5g? Tractor Supply makes good pricing for the 15.5, suggesting the higher demand and volume of purchasing by their customer base makes them have buying power and pass on to customers.
@nalley6815 I am preparing to do this for the very first time, but it seems like leaving extra at the end wrap would be smart so you can come back and do a retension maybe?
I'd like to talk to a Bekaert rep. I installed several miles of gaucho wire in snow country. Worst fencing decision I've ever made. Every spring the wire has tons of breaks in it and where it isn't broken it's loose. Is the cattlemen pro any better? I've switched to hi-tensile smooth wire and it seems to be working great.
Hi Weston, we are sorry you're facing issues with your product. This could come down to how the product was installed. Let's get you in contact with our team, please reach out to us here: fencing.bekaert.com/en/contact-us
@@leemarchant7191 That is interesting. I'll probably remove it this year. The gaucho wire I used in low country has held up fine but I'm not a fan. Maybe I overtightened it.
I believe you are referring to gauge. 15.5 gauge barbed wire is going to be stronger than 18 gauge barbed wire. Our 18 gauge barbed wire is intended to be used as a temporary solution.
Our products can be found at local farm and ranch stores, some retailers but not Home Depot. Need to find a location? fencing.bekaert.com/en/find-a-dealer-fence-contractor
Using cheap ass Chinese wire strainers WILL hurt you one day. Use hi quality ones. Buy once, cry once. You should be running your wires bottom to top. Firstly to allow for take up on your braces and secondly, it’s easier to run your remaining wires
Thanks guys. Great refresher. Getting ready to start my cattle fence and havent put up fence in 42 years.
Awesome video. Thanks guys!
Awesome to see guys. Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks
Always stretch from the bottom to the top in case your corners do give
Is that wire spinner on the utv hitch homemade or something yall offer for sale ?
Thank you for teaching
K I need to install the BW to the wire in my storage unit to keep theives out?

You can get them at Home Depot. It's a galvanized metal fence post.

Thanks for the positive feedback!
how do you maintain the correct barbwire spacing between rows - Measure ???
How did you? I'd assume you just count nubs on t post.
Thanks!
2 questions:
1, do you install wires from bottom to top?
2, what exactly do you mean by pressure side?
Bottom to top
Pressure side is the side cows would be pushing against.
@@nalley6815 So wire should fasten on the inside of the fencing.

Shouldn't that be a terminating knot instead of a simple twist?
Why do you not show installing all 4 other wires. How do you get the next 4 strands on the non pressure side of the braces.

Yes, you're right the price point is more for someone who is installing fence a majority of the time.
how are you friend Where to find special Chuck and the Clipper post please thanks greetings
Hello! We are great. We offer both the drill chuck and the clips through our dealers.
What’s the link to the drill Chuck that you use?

And when you get to the bottom your top wire will be loose
Even when I start at the bottom to the top the wires I started with are looser at the end. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong
Strong braces do not allow slack to occur
@@jimmystevens3580 mine are strong. Can’t figure this out…
But even the very best braces ‘take up’ for a tiny bit…..that’s why you should always start on the bottom
