Im so glad the writers gave Haelena more of a story line and didn't just go by the books and make her go mad right after Jaehaerys' death. She is such a great actress!
I felt she had no storyline what so ever. And in the end she showed up in daemon's dream, the man who ordered the dead of her kids. Going mad made more sense
Exactly. The showrunners are doing a great job actually developing the characters. Most of them just wait around to die in the book. The haters of this show have no imagination nor the ability to construct a narrative.
Poor Aegon😢 he never had any aspirations for the throne, but his own mother and grandfather manipulated things to the point where their family was ripped apart. It highlighted Aegons shortcomings and increased the distance between him and his mother. Then his own brother attempted to kill him, mutilating him for life and killing his dragon( maybe the worst of all). And now he literally has nothing. Heleana has the advantage of knowing what’s going to happen and somehow being able to just…..deal with it.
This set up to her captivity just doesn't track at all with the show, however. She isn't despondent. She even considers what life would be like away from the throne. She stands up to Aemond. The city does not love her. So I am curious how they will develop this in the show. The main beats seem to be the same but how they get there is different.
I get that Haelaena's tragedy was what fueled Rhaenyra's downfall, but really, that was her mother's fault. Her mom and grandfather caused the Dance by usurping the throne. On the show it was supposedly a misinterpreted statement from a dying king, in the books they just straight up stole it. Either way, Alicent and Otto are to blame.
Helaena is the only green that I actually like
Agree. Still need to meet the younger brother. Was hopping he would be in this season but now we have to wait till season 3.

@@blueblack3591I think it will make sense eventually. Maybe she use her powers to drag Daemon and Aemond on one place and kill each other.

@@blueblack3591 Such a simple minded take 🤦

I kind of like she eventualy help her husband and family. Her mother can learn what duty to family is.

What they've done to my girl 😭
The greatest show ever on this planet, period. Micdrop...😊
