Please stop it. Not all religions are equal. Islam is apparently from God and can't be abrogated. The deity of Islams word is eternal. Christianity is built on values and ethics. The God of Christianity has not put into law every small detail of our lives, such as how to walk into the bathroom. Child marriage, cousin love, unaliving apostates, unaliving innocents who don't believe in your religion is not done by Christians. It can't be justified by the laws of Jesus Christ. He gave us clear instructions: love one another as he loved us, turn the other cheek and do unto others as you would have done to yourself. I will never stand with the God of Islam. I stand with Muslims. Their prophet doesn't deserve them
This video is wildly mistitled! He's not defending intermarriage at all, but giving a nuanced view of why it remains prevalent and how a more constructive approach to it's reduction can be pursued. The title of the video seems like click bait, or at the least a strange misunderstanding of the point being made. The speaker is eloquent and give a balanced perspective, ultimately suggesting that the health risks of intermarriage are reason to attempt to curtail the practice, but that significant cultural and economic hurdles are in the way.
He opposes banning it and thinks we should spend even more NHS money on offering advanced genetic screening.
What he said was nuanced, but he absolutely was defending people's right to marry their cousins.

As weird as it is, I’m pro people doing what they want with their lives and personal decision decisions, however, for a country that has a national healthcare system, allowing marriages that you know will result in increased genetic disease and disability is kind of dumb. And that’s got nothing to do with judgment. I agree the suggestion of handling it from a place of compassion, but not acceptance.
Even tunning a bazillion tests before two grandchildren can get married to each-other is not a solution, that’s just putting the cost upfront instead of later. And likely those cost couples will find a way to get married anyway.
