We had first cousin neighbours and they produced 3 children.
Not a full Shilling between 'em.

The NHS and social services have to foot the bill of looking after the products of these first cousin marriages.

Extremely bad idea. In the IOM we are very careful about this after historic issues. In greenland there is a register so people can check their genetic connection.

The majority of a certain demographic immigrants who reside in the uk are from the same village, as you can imagine that means they’re closely related and the birth defects amongst their children are extremely high.
You may get the odd English person marry a cousin but it’s are no no among the population in general and the odd marriage here and there is vastly different to interbreeding continually.

A little bit misleading to say he was "defending" it, but I suppose you could see it that way if he encourages voting against the bill to ban it. I am surprised to hear that it wasn't banned already but what makes it a pressing issue right now? Surely the enforcement will require funding and the implementation of systems? What would stop these people from going abroad to do so?
