Should've conquered India also like how Alexander wanted to before he died.
the point is that, if the Persian Empire couldn't stop Alexander, no nation in the world culd stop him, there were no great empire in that moment that can be a menace to Alexander Empire, if Alexander doesn't die young, or his generals for ambition divide his empire, probably the Roman, Partian and the Muslim ecc Empire would not exist,, the story will be completely altered!
Fede98k you are right but the Persians couldn't stop Alexander not because Alexander was unstoppable, well it was too late to stop him after the battle of gaugamela that was kind of their last chance.it was more like Persia wasn't in a position to stop anyone at the time with their economy in shambles, lack of cohesion in their military with many armies not even speaking a uniform language which made communication for strategy and tactics almost impossible. Many satrapies revolting and demanding more autonomy from Persia, revolts for independence in Egypt and Afghanistan. Constant raids from the northern steppe tribes, a relatively weak king considering the empire he had to rule, a poor military tradition as Persia usually just used bribes, spy networks, and overwhelming numbers to simply avoid fighting all together when conquering or keeping order, some city states would actually surrender immediatley to Alexander and or join him.
Credit where credit is due what Alexander did was impressive, its not like he waltzed into Persepolis and conquered the whole empire without any proper work. but while you beating a man 3 times your size in a fist fight is impressive, it becomes less impressive with the context that that guy was also suffering a heart attack for nearly the entire fight.

To be fair, he didn't have quite as much organized opposition.
Makes me wonder how much further eastwards Alexander could have expanded had he not died young. Perhaps his empire would even end up touching borders with the era's Chinese dynasty or with whatever warlord state currently controlled China's southern end?
@@gengarzilla1685 it's unlikely he could've kept going further east, since he came up face to face with one of the largest armies in the world and an environment completely new to him, plus his tired troops were on the verge of mutiny. He could've kept his empire united longer had he lived, but it's unlikely he could've kept conquering more and more without losing stability in the rest of his empire.

He Hungary and Poland are all east so the ottomans inf would be the only problem

it's very easy to beat the ottomans as Byzantium. ally poland and wait for personal union find another eastern ally and take everything
its easy if the ai doesnt decided to make you deal with them alone and only moving and they have conquered half of hungary

I find it funny that it took Alexander like 20 years or what. Im not trying to disregard your work, I respect it, I cant even beat Portugal as Castille.
Fast conquest is basically impossible in EU4 no matter how good you are (due to game mechanics)
Reasons:
- You can only take a certain value worth of provinces from a country in a peace deal and it will trigger a 15 year truce with that nation if you take the maximum.
- Then you also have to "core" those provinces before taking any more from other nations otherwise you will have tons of revolts to put down.
- If you do core them and want to go for someone else's provinces during the truce you might accumulate too much "aggressive expansion" and a bunch of neighboring nations will forma coalition against you and attack you.
- Because you can't fight your battles yourself you can't just beat armies 3/4 times your size through clever battle tactics. You can win disadvantageous wars by luring the enemy into mountain provinces or splitting them up and killing smaller stacks, but you can't just play like its a total war game and just steamroll army after army with minimal losses.

If you want a fast conquest, get the extended timeline mod and play as Mongolia in the 13th century. You can thank me later ;)
I like how much more intricate you have made your videos. Showing much more than just the provinces you conquered and the end results.

@@makedon9991 yeah back in the ancient times there was no greece but separate kingdoms that spoke Greek including Macedonia in them and bacically what Alexander did was to come and control every single one of them (except Sparta who disagreed) and reunited Greece.

I want to buy this game but I see and hear that it's not very noob friendly..
There is indeed a learning curve to EU4 but it is well worth buying IMO since the game is very enjoyable and extremely replayable.
turn on cheats and play around to learn thats how i learnded how to play ck2 and eu4
If you start with an easy faction like france or Austria, it should by very enjoyable for a noob, or like me, with my first game with austia ^^

hello one quick question:How did you make it so the borders for the provinces needed for your goal e.x. the macedonian empire are coloured and marked on the map?
Question: why Infantry combat ability? if there was one national idea I would imagine the Macedonians having it's cavalry combat ability, since, y'know, the Companion Cavalry?

Dovska, is it possible that you could somehow continue the glory of at least one empire through CK2 to EU4 to Vic2 with custom dynasty and name of empire from CK2, and create something like a united European empire or something? I think it would be cool for an empire to be created over such an epic timeline.
How about recreating- actually, not recreating, but merging the ottoman empire and the caliphates in one great empire, starting as a custom nation in arabia?
I don't play this game, so forgive me if this is a dumb question, but I notice that there are some thicker borders in some areas, that are different colors on each side (like around Egypt for example). What are those? Are those de jure kingdoms or something?
Most of them represent rivers, or different regions.
How do you handle agressive expansion? I always suck at that so that's an honest question :/

Something I observe is that everybody gets the coastal provinces at the first wars.
Could I ask what CBs you used when declaring war? Seemed like you were taking lands you didn't have claims on (which is what I usually stick to taking because it's easier)
For the most part I just used the Holy War CB which you get if you choose religious ideas. :)

For you idiots saying how it only took Alexander 20 or so years you have to remember All Alexander had to do was fight 1 nation to gain about 90% of his empires size. Which was Persia. As soon as he won his few key battles he gained the entire empire. In this game play you have to fight over 30+ nations over many years with a legit cause. Comparing Politics in Ancient Greece vs Medieval period is COMPLETELY different. Alexander had no one to stop him. Persia was the strongest in the world. Once he got rid of their leadership no one dared fighting him.
Trying to do this in EU4 you have tons of major nations breathing down your back. You cant just go and randomly attack any nation because majority of the world will attack you back with much bigger armies (something Alexander did not have to worry about)
How do you avoid coalitions? It seems like you should have had a coalition hell with all that aggressive expansion.
coalition from whom? he ate most people rather quickly and was quite big rather quickly, discouraging any coalition to form in the first place. also considering people are different religions and care less if a heretic religion is being killed. Sunni Ottomans < Shia. hope that clears things up :)

Nope, the flag is from TBARW EXTRA: User Interface, are you sure that you did not accidentally install the wrong mod?
I installed TBARW EXTRA: User Interface when i did the same options for the flag that you had, i had a yellow circle surrounded by purple
That is really weird, the only other thing that I can think of is that you may have another mod that is conflicting with TBARW.

I'm Slightly new to this, i was wondering how he got to do some certain things. Like having his province called Macedonia. Calling his country Macedonia (Mine says the name is taken) And certain map changes to the world. How do you gi back to what he was doing. WHat dlc does he have one?
There are some incorrect borders, for example sparta and that whole peninsula of Greece was never part of the empire

You can choose easy,normal,hard.The easy one give 800 point.The Normal one give 200 point and the hard one give you 50 point.

Well, Alexander is a greek name (even his horse had a greek name). Macedonians spoke a greek dialect, had greek names, worshiped the greek gods, had greek culture, participated in the olympics (that at that time, only the greeks could), and so on. Ancient Macedonians were greek folk.

Also, I presented you with other arguments as well that you didn't answer (language, religion, olympics). Ancient Macedonians were greek people. Today's Macedonia is a geographical region that is divided between Greece, FYROM, Bulgaria, Albania and Serbia. So what do you mean Macedonia is slavic? A part of today's Macedonia is, but not all. Thessaloniki is the second biggest city of Greece and it's in the Macedonia region.

Alexander was Greek, from Macedonia, just like Spartans were Greek from Sparta and so on. The former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia was an invention of the Communist party of Yugoslavia after WW2 and it has nothing to do with the historical Macedonia of the ancient world.

Alexander had the blood of a Macedonian not a Greek.. his mother was Greek his dad was Macedonian you know yourself back then an still to this day you take after your dad more than your mum.. I don't, I'm sorry to say but it is just a side effect of the timeline feature. It can't properly process the old borders so the current ones still stay around :/

+ralin day I waited for the Ottomans to declare war on Byzantium and once they did I simply invaded Byzantium and occupied the provinces before the Ottomans got the chance to.
u can destroy Byzantium at the start pretty much as anyone. Teutons, Aragonese, Ulm, u name it. just no cb them und u should be fine

Why "Philip Argead" and not Alexander of Macedonia?
Philip Argead was Alexander's Father, he was the guy that united Greece and made it possible for Alexander to conquer as much as he did which is why I thought it was fitting to have him as the ruler in the start when I was a OPM and then later on have Alexander be ruler when I finished my conquest of Persia and India. :)

I'm absolutely not one to judge but I personally find the large majority of playthroughs and let's play to be quite boring and dull which is why I personally don't make them.
