- This is Hardknott Pass. Steepest climb in England with some shockers at 33% on the hairpins. So wanted to share the climb :) Let me know if you have ridden it and what you thought of this brute!
Sorrrrrry, I didn't put the heart rate data on here (but did wear the HR strap!!!). So if you want to see the ol' heart rate data have a look at my Strava here:

Superbly filmed/documented as usual. You could feel the effort, watching you climb.Amazing!
Fantastic effort katie !! well done on one of the most difficult climbs around ,well deserved ❤️😎
Excellent work and a great video with the overlays and your commentary. You are so encouraging. You go girl! Gorgeous views obviously.
So very impressed Katie , you're a hero. Also the scenery fantastic. Chapeau.
Well done! Watching was so inspiring and got me a little emotional just thinking of how proud you must be, and thinking of some of my break through rides!
I’m sat here having breakfast watching this and I swear my knees are hurting in sympathy 😬
Chapeau Katie - unbelievable determination!!!!
Katie, your climb up Hardknott was awesome and inspirational, well done. And the quality of the video and editing was also outstanding. Thank you for the time and effort you put in to your productions. I think I'll pump up my bike tyres just after hitting the like and subscribe buttons.
Stunning, absolutely stunning...and the scenery looks good too. You're just an awesome inspiration and I love following your UA-cam channel and Instagram. Well done Katie!
So inspiring! Great tips...out of the saddle; mtb shoes; sideways cycling...thank you! Bravo!
Brilliant video, Katie!
Fantastic effort, Katie! Congrats!
Inspirational and amazing. Super well done. It was the only climb on the Fred I didn’t complete. As you approach the super steep switch back ramps near the end, you can see the angle of the road dramatically pitch up and that puts super fear and doubt in your mind, especially when you have already done so much continuous climbing over 10% beforehand and your legs are burning and you know cramp could strike at any time. As you said it’s so hard on the steep parts to keep traction and stop the front wheel from popping up.
WOW! My legs are aching just from watching you go up this mountain! So awesome. I live in the valley (think FLAT) in Phoenix, AZ USA and I’m sure my heart and lungs would explode trying to make that climb. You are such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your adventures and your life.
what a hero! a big cheers from an irish guy living in switzerland.
Super impressive! I could not have done that 20 years and 21 kg ago. Your uploads work as a great inspiration to keep riding.
Amazing effort. Well done Katie. You’re an inspiration 👏🏽💪🏽🤛🏽
I have to say, I have always loved watching climbing videos on GCN or elsewhere but this is the best one I have ever seen. Your strength is awesome, physically but having watched your videos for quite a while now and knowing where you have come from, mentally you are amazing. You're truly inspiring. Brilliantly filmed also giving a true perspective on how hard that climb is. You should be giving talks in schools to inspire kids to achieve, as Paul Weller once said, "belief is all" and you certainly have shown that and I am sure you could inspire kids to achieve and keep them on the right track. Katie, that was awesome, well done.
On the list to ride, thanks so much for an honest and inspirational video
