Scott Tibbs from Roland demonstrates the Integra-7 sound module, which boasts over 5,000 sounds and Roland's advanced SuperNATURAL sound engine. Roland's INTEGRA-7 SuperNATURAL Sound Module gives you immense creative power, both live and in the studio. INTEGRA-7 fortifies your keyboard rig with a colossal cornucopia of sounds - over 6,000 of them - along with dedicated effects engines for each of the module's 16 parts, making CPU-load concerns a thing of the past. INTEGRA-7 is also expandable, courtesy of 12 SRX expansion boards. With its USB connectivity, INTEGRA-7 plays nice with your devices, and even streams audio at rates up to 24-bit/96kHz. Enjoy the demo, then see the INTEGRA-7 in detail at the link above!
That face when he play the drum part at 4:38 lol
how about the moves @7:10 ?😆
This guy could play a bad guy in a new Die Hard film.
It's that sweet hair!

creepy I was thinking the exact same thing. Han Grubers son...
😂😂😂 nice one
100%
Most used instrument in my studio in styles like EDM, House, chillout and Hardcore industrial / techno , sounds great to mix in tracks. People, before talking bullshit, try use instrument first.
+1
They nailed it with this module. It’s got the business in the front, and the party in the back.
The Godfather of all tone generators, unlikely anyone will attempt to surpass it.
Thanks for this video , I am on the hunt for a new keyboard with the emphasis on realistic sounds and portability.
I was looking at the FA-6 , EAX and some of the Korg , Yamaha motif etc . But this is really the one that ticks all the boxes for me.
Great demonstration and sublime playing ( yes I am a tad jealous ) . So thanks again for uploading this it was very informative.
Man you guys are talking more about how to roast this guy rather than the sound module itself 😂😂😂
I have had this question for a while as to how make a realistic Ukulele emulation and this video answers that.
Awesome synth and Super great player too! 😎 (hey Scott ;-)
What I want to know, but he's not telling me, is if the sounds are realistic.
+KingRundzap Hahahahaha!
Shouldn't you use your ears to tell you that? I mean you have to decide for yourself if it sounds real to you.
+Tmidiman It's sarcasm! He is making fun of the fact that the guy keeps using the word "realistic" over and over. LOL! He also uses the words "super... convincing.... cool..... great" a lot. We could start a drinking game with these words as often as he uses them. We'd be drunk!
+GSkid2000 Got it! LOL
+KingRundzap The sounds are not realistic. They are super realistic!
The first time I heard this thing in person I was in awe.. Roland please make a vst editor
The technology is unbelievable!! Wow..
Great box, lives in the studio and its a workhorse.
Wow! Amazing piece of hardware.
BeatsAndBars - It is really AMAZING for it's "synthesizer" and "Keyboard" sounds - but the guitar sounds on ANY keyboard suck really bad. Just use a real guitar! ugggh
The most incredible demonstrator of Roland...The best after Yamaha...
Nice playing bro
I'd love to replace my XV-5080 with this. Each channel having its own effects was my dream long ago. And Scott need to sell the demos he makes as midi files. He's an excellent player and song writer.
Just NOW listening to this! Wow! It’s been out how long?😳
The Integra-7? Since about 2013. Still in production.
Ok...that's actually good advice! Thanks.
Scott Tibbs .. monster player!
This unit should be bought new. It is so versatile. It essentially is all your sounds and effects in a 19" box. Tho completely usable in the DAW domain... The steps forward in terms of soundstaging, creativity and the sense of quality you can give your products is mindboggling. There is a reason why it is what it is...
So this is the infamous Integra 7 that the FA is model after!!! I can't wait to get this board I'm already in love and I don't have it yet
Bashanvibe get it and u will not regret
Roland finally getting string instruments right. Really looking forward to getting one of these in the future.
Where you been?
this sounds beautiful, at first I was like " what's the point when there are tons of vst multi samplers" but now I think I'd buy one
Eduardo Trevino - One cool thing is you can play this without ever turning a computer on. I will have to say that Spitfire Audio has better strings sounds. For example listen to Spitfire Audio "Hans Zimmer Strings" (which wasn't available yet when you left this comment 5 years ago).
Yep I learned of this, oh, four years ago, refused to get it, now I am waiting on delivery lol. Roland just has a unique something to their sound. Plus even in Komplete... it takes a while to load random patches across different plugins when you browse! Sure the previews are instant, but loading is many seconds at least. No matter how fast the computer.
@@boothbuster komplete doesn’t load long for me, but I still find myself interested in the integra for the legacy sounds themselves. They are great reference sounds that I think are still inspiring.✌🏾
Helpful review...
I cant decide whether this guy is a villain from die hard or an android from aliens.
Biff....hes come a long way since BTTF 😉
Love this thing and the wealth of rich sounds it offers. If you layer just two tones you get insane sounds at hand and that's just 2 tones. They could of really had a stellar selling board had they made this into a 76 semi or 88 weighted. Major hit there was missed(imho).
jupiter 80 you mean?
This has more on board than the 80. That is why I bought this. Has all of their ROMs through the years. 6000+ tones . Jupiter is totally different. Then the 3d sound field placement that is insane for multi timbrel. Could on and on with this unit. It is the history on roland digital offerings for the last 30+ years.
try an a-88 roland key bed controller, it is supernatural weighted hammer action.
I have one!! I just wish the a-800 controller had the supernatural pre patched...
the integra7 is a real work horse!! I have 4 of them here in the studio!!
be sure to do the ipad interface!! trust me it makes the edit of the sounds and access to the patches so much easier
and yes this unit will do multi splits like the j-80!!
Ok, I picked up one used for hundreds less than the new price and more in line with what I think it should sell for and I'm happy. The piano's are good, the modelled organs are way better than ever before (for Roland) and there are a ton of synth sounds. Layering creates massive sounds, many sounds are very expressive and that includes older sounds that now sound better. The card sounds, in my humble opinion, are ok in some cases but the updated high quality PCM bank is way better than I expected. The SuperNatural sounds are very good and fun to play. PIANO/ORGAN/SYNTH is covered well in one unit and with each sound having it's own multi-effects, it's truly multi-timbral in the proper sense as each sound holds it's integrity. It's not perfect but what unit is? I like Roland sounds and this unit has them all. Two thumbs up, Roland, for a solid product. :)
+Robert A. Its more than worth the original asking price, especially since it comes with 12 SRX boards which alone are very expensive even to this day. Clearly you are one of these people who are NEVER happy.
+Zariis (Official) Thanks for your comment. I would not say I was unhappy lol. If you like the old sounds on the cards and you are ok with only basic editing of the SuperNatural sounds then, yes, it's totally worth the price of one new. It does sound great and has a ton of sounds and best of all you have an insert effect on all 16 midi channels at the same time! BUT... you only have 128 note polyphony and really it could use 256 notes with having all that layering possibility. Having said that, it's still an amazing sound source. The older cards sounds, for me, are not so inspiring. but all good. :)
Robert A. Yeh deffo worth it, i use mine daily for projects within Cubase, i tend to warp the sounds in my Computer, i'm not too bothered about meddling with the SuperNatural sounds as they sound great anyway to be honest. The I7 integrated with my other hardware and soft synths etc is great!
Does this work with a USB only MIDI controller?
is there a way to save an individual patch or preset to a usb thumb drive to use in the roland vr-09? and or a way to record onto the usb thumb drive on the vr-09 using the roland integra 7 sounds
The Integra has a set of sounds that INCLUDE the SRX series, but in case of SRX series you has to ASSIGN the set (Drums for example) to one of the 4 slots (check the manual). So you may have a lot of SRX expansion cards available into the integra but you cannot use more than 4 simultaneously
Mariano Sanchez - If you record them to separate audio tracks in your Recording Software you can use as many SRX expansions as you want. And if you're planning to perform live, then 4 sounds at once should be plenty, but if you need more just buy another Integra 7 and you can play 8 SRX expansion at once.
I need this in my setup
3:15
His face .... Def someone under the bench playing with ST's kit.
Sir, I really impressed on your demonstration. I purchased an Integra-7 , an iPad Air and also Roland a49. But I cannot change the midi channel by a49. But midi channel can be changed by Roland XP60. Is it possible to change by a49?
This sound module is the next best thing to EastWest Composer Cloud. If I heard those Supernatural guitars
on the radio I would swear it's the real thing! Even some of the SRX sounds are still realistic by today's standards.
I don't get why there are quite a few dismissive comments especialy saying the guitars are unrealistic. I have to disagree, even my SC-88 Pro has a few electric guitars that although
not as good as the newer Supernatural sounds are still realistic enough to fool some people especially if you use amp simulation ( I have a few people tell me the guitars and basses
I used on my SC-88 Pro and JV-1080 sound just like the real thing ). Sometimes I use a mix of both midi and real guitars. I also get many compliments on how convincin my drum
tracks sound even with the Bass and drums SRJV expansion board I have in my JV-1080. In fact if I heard those Supernatural sounds on a recording I would think it sounded like
session musicians playing real instruments.
Something in the way Scott Tibbs bravely defends Roland's latest products gets to me. You got to be moved by the diehard loyalty! But his somber face reaveals his true feelings as he repeats: "It's super realistic. It's super realistic."
The most unhip module of 2023, but a great resource of Roland's greatest hits of sounds.
Sure, now you can go Roland Cloud, but its nice to have hardware sometimes!
Probably a high priced collectors item in 10 or 20 years time!
Good to have if you don't want to power your keyboard setup through a laptop. I sure don't.
The rotary dial on my integra is a bit loose , if you turn it , it's off-axis
Is it supposed to be like this , or should it be verry sturdy . like on the vsnth gt ?
6:32 Those gorgeous pads! (Falls asleep)
Roland Integra , not to be mixed with Honda Integra its sound very realistic and very promising module. Hope not to be very expensive .....
Hello fellow integra 7 players. Quick question. Can I use part one to correspond with the A 1 output on the back of the integra, and plug a1 into a mixer and so on? To be clearer.. can I use each of the outputs as a separate part/track and plug them into a mixer? Ill like to use the 8 outputs as 8 separate tracks, running each individual output into their own compressor and then into a mixer. Is that possible and how would one do it
Thanks, Trevor for your answer, however it is not an answer to my question. Let me explain: The SRX boards, in the case of the Fantom X, brought new sounds that were not part of the MAIN INTERNAL ROM of the Fantom X itself. In other words, the sounds the Fantom X came with internally, were banks of sounds separate from the sounds contained on the SRX boards. I KNOW the virtual SRX boards are available in Integra-7, but does it also contain the main banks sounds that come Fantom X or even G? 10x.
Can somebody please get this guy some water?
why?
way too funny, he sounded a little dry to me too...lol Still a good demonstration. I like him, but a few sips of water would cool the pipes....lol
HAHAHAHAH or a hair cut.
Before Integra -7 came out I was considering buying a Fantom XR rack unit and now I want and Integra in stead, but did I understand correctly that Intergra contains "ALL the sounds of the Fantom" series? Does that mean that I would have on this thing the sounds from the Fantom X and also the sounds from the Fantom G? Thanks for your answers, guys!
I have a question Scott. You mentioned connecting the Integra 7 to an IPAD. Does this have to be an Apple IPAD or will any tablet work? Please let me know since I am considering buying the integra 7 but really don't want to pay the high price of an Apple product.
Please tell me that this module as all the sounds from the XP keyboards as well? If they do, i am buying it right now!
How do you use an integera as an audio interface. I really like the output, but I wanna use line inputs as well for Logic Pro. Is this possible ?
How to tell one is getting old? Is when you have both the Integra and U-220 and you end up using the U-220 most of the time :)
I also still have my U220 and it's had much more use in the past year than the Integra 7
Why do you use the U220 more?
I think it's because of the fact that it's needlessly complex. I was looking for a replacement for my p330 a few months back, still using it.
I bought a U-220 last year.
This is interesting to me. I am a newbie to the synth scene, what kind of keyboard/controllers work with this?
Would I be able to plug in my USB Midi controller and control it with that or would I need a totally different controller?
Talon Gregory I bought one off eBay recently. I sent it back for a refund. I couldn’t get my M-Audio to work on it. The seller later texted me saying there’s nothing wrong with it. Was he correct? Was it my M-Audio or was the integra faulty? The volume phrase button worked but not the keyboard controller.
@@royclarke8687 I don't know man I never bought one and no 1 ever answered my question lol
You should be able to use any midi controller with it. When I connected it to my cpu the already existing controller worked right away. I’m about positive I could plug it via usb into the front input and it would work without downloading any drivers or anything like that.
Indeed... I think "Muse Receptor Komplete 8 Ultimate" is what you mean. Anyway Roland Integra7 has also thousands of nice sounds... some sounds are "old" but still nice. Cheers! ^^
Does it have MKS-20 ac piano and e-paino?
am not sure what am not doing right but am finding difficulties using it together with my fantom X "program change" function
Dear Sweetwater guys please, please tell ROLAND techs to make a possibility in future OS update , SAVING SRX patches independently from virtual cards, in order to build up custom libraries , instead of loading expansions over and over again for the sake of 1-3 sounds from that SRX card. Thanks!
The Juno DS seems to have that kind of issue, too: you can load a single expansion bank, but there is no editor to mix and match patches from the custom banks :-(
Question: are there any alternatives to this thing these days? Of course I would appreciate cheaper device with at least quite good acoustic sounds. I had fa06, later I had to sell it and since then I am thinking of getting integra 7 but it is quite expensive for me. Any recommendations for something at least a bit comparable?
I have a doubt. Can sound modules be used in a live performance, where I have to call up sounds quickly in a particular order? Also, can I tweak the sounds (layer/split) and save them?
Grace Abraham - YES! But how "quick" do you need the sounds to load? --- In 2018, a module is still faster and more reliable than a computer set up for live.
I think he was "taking the piss" when he said the guitar sound were realistic
Only 1 USB on that, so if you have the iPad hooked up, you can't have it plugged to your computer at the same time?
awsome
That's why I want to play both :)
What i really want to know if this hardware is super convincing and super realistic. And is this gear super natural and very realistic.
Powerful piece of kit: do a multi timbral demonstration to best illustrate how "realistic" these sounds really can be ■ Think Rippingtons drum replacement story using XV5080.
Greetings, I need to know what type of midi controller supports my module integra 7 in which 16 parties can use independently without having to change the parts for channel 1 simultaneamentes to combine sounds.

Will there be an android app, if so, when?? I'm VERY interested in the integra -7
Can the Integra 7 be used at a Live gig with having presets to change from one instrument to another quickly? I'm used to using my Sound Banks on my Juno-Stage. How would you jump around to different sounds instantly on the Integra 7? Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your interest! The Integra-7 does not have a "favorites" feature, and there's not a way to quickly change sounds from the front panel like there would be on a live performance keyboard. However, there are a couple potential workarounds. If you have an iPad, you can use the editor app to quickly change patches on the Integra module. Otherwise, you could set up program change commands using an external MIDI controller. Take a look at this link for documentation from Roland providing further details:

Hi, can a Roland A88 MkII controller have a favorite buttons to recall instant in a live situation? That’s also my big question. Thanks would appreciate your response.
Coooooll
This product can add new sampler like roland keybord do?
Kewl!
Scott always reminds me of Ron Ely who played Tarzan! Anyone remember him or am I showing my age?
It's >4 years old this VID
Is there a succesor of the Integra 7 already
Happens a lot to me : I by and a month later there is a complete new model :-)
Yeah, I'd like to know too. Your comment is over 2 years old, but still relevant!!
@@hedegaard8 The Integra 7 is still bloody expensive so I doubt there is a successor yet.
@@shadowbanned5164 We can always hope :)
Please help good day can i change my presets with a pedal in assignable option thanks
that pad sold it to me...
when you edit a loop, does it over-write the original loop? or can you make various variations on a loop?
@ Feona Lee Jones: I don't have this instrument, but usually you can save an edited sound with a different name. "Save as..." The original sound is retained. Nothing will be overwritten.
This guy reminds me of Brion James in the movie The Fifth Element.
hi does the integra-7 have the MK2-20 sounds
The reason you don't see Android apps so much is there is too many different hardware underneath the OS. Thats why most pro apps for various electronic gear go for iOS, cause they know how an iPad performs but they don't know if the app works seemlesly on the choice of Android tablet the enduser chooses. my guess is that battle is a lost case for Android. Pro Musical gear will most likely be married to Apple for quite a while weather we like it or not.
1:30 "Heey I just put on some of those MIDI recorded stuff you simply CAN'T do live.."
How can I get it connected to my DAW?
Do not forget. This is a reverberation and fx box too...
pretty near smiled at the end😂
wish that USB in could work with Godin USB guitar directly!!
I'd prefer an adat output instead of 8 analog outputs
What about the arx brass expansion??
Hi all... unfortunately I only had an Integra 7 for a short time. I liked it. It has limitations especially for live performance but it sounds great. I'm a big fan of Roland sounds but I no longer have it in my rig. My apologies if I miss your questions or comments.
I know this is an old product, is there an upgrade to this ?
Can you map the parameters on a different MIDI controller? For example, would i be able to map faders to the channels if it's not a Roland MIDI controller?
Hi Alain, the INTEGRA-7 has many of the standard parameters mapped to specific CC#s. So, anything that can send CC#s will work. You can also use SysEx to get many dozens of other parameters as well. That's where it's probably best to get a Roland controller that can send specific SysEx strings. Thanks for watching!
what's SysEx?? And is it possible to use more than one controller at once with the integra, and then be able to have them play different sounds?
Very importan'
sir xps 30 is failure?....
Can I somehow substitute a TD-50 or TD-30 v-drums sound module for this Integra-7 one? I play piano and drums and want to buy & use ONLY one sound module.
Jorge Calderon - No, there's just not "ONE" sound module that does "everything".
what's the comparison to the JUPITER-80?
what's the features or loaded into the Integra-7 that JUPITER-80 lacks
which unit do you suggest??
Two units which share sounds but are used for different reasons. I use my Jup-80 all the time for live play. I also use my Integra for live if I cannot fit the Jupiter on stage. The layering can be the same on both. The Jupiter has a few live performance items the Integra does not. Also, the Integra has all the XV-5080 sounds and all expansions whereas the Jupiter is SuperNatural only.
I think he is a cool Seinfeld doppelganger from a parallel universe.
Seinfeld + John Travolta
There are definitely some nice sounds, it's just too expensive even now.
Kanser I’d take it off somebody’s hands for $450 though...I’d might be willing to do $600. But a G? Nah, not these days when you go with reliable software rig✌🏾
@@truthmanifestingtruth
Some of us are both studio and live musicians, so $1k is honestly nothing.
It dependes... I don't know where do you live, but here in Brazil, the dollar exchange costs more than 5x our local money, so can you imagine that we pay 5x for 1 Integra? THAT is expensive!
No one was complaining when the JV-1080 came out that was expensive that sold millions.
We need an Integra-8, System Integra-8 or Integra 8 System 8, yeah that sounds cool..
Integra-8, System-8.that's what we need.
Considering the price of disappointing Jupiter 80 and well known G series , it is more logical to buy an Integra 7 for a musician who is working with DAW and looking for a supportive outboard sound module. Expecting ultimately well imitated sounds from these devices is somewhat a catastrophic situation for music and musicians. No machine will be able to perfectly imitate the human feel thus an acoustic instrument. At least i hope it would never happen for the sake of music and musicians.
Can someone make a video showing the installation and use of Roland Integra? It is giving me problems
You’re not the only one.
It could be down to the the kind of controller you’re using. I bought one briefly
Demos from Roland US or from the Roland UA-cam Channel doesn't show the drums or only the Tight Kit, what is no reason to me to buy this module.
can we play arabic kit with integra 7?
The dood did not tell us what the ipad is for and how it works .. can you access everything like you would on the module via the ipad? If so, that is a handy feature as you get a big screen to work on?
Hello, Melody! It isn't required that you have an iPad for it, but the Integra does come with an iPad app that will allow you to control the modules patches and overall mix via touch. That will make navigating it a lot easier for you. Thanks for the interest!

I've seen lots of people connecting the Integra 7 to Ipads, but can editing be done on a Mac or PC as well? Can it run as a VST?
Hello! You can run the Integra editor on an iPad using the optional Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit, or via Roland's WNA1100-RL Wireless USB adapter, or plug the Integra into your Mac/PC and run the editor on your desktop. This cannot run as a VST, but you can route audio or MIDI to and from this device through your DAW.
