    Good instructional video. I've got the same car as you, Magnusson heartbeat 2.3L, cammed, went for 85 ethanol, pump couldn't handle it, so was limited there, also kept boost at 10psi, one thing I'd add to anyone getting a cam, it will rock back and forth on idle, but it does add heaps of power.

    A couple of things the difference in fuel pump is whether its e85 flex fuel car series 2, I'm looking at boosting 2012 ssv mine e85 but the supercharger kit is anything from $10.5k to $14k mine is already making 450hp N/A but looking at guys have done it the hp per $ is quit low with the supercharger and haven't seen too many making much over 650 hp where I can buy a c bearing s498 billet turbo for just over $2500 plus acc which I've already got 60mm wastegate, 300x600 3" intercooler, boost controller where the turbo is rated to 2000hp where the downside is doing to pipe work, headers and odds and sods so I'm weighing up whats the best way to go both will need biger injectors and fuel pump for the turbo mines a Gen 4 so its got good rods but wrist pins may need doing so there's my dilemma I'm pretty sure I can get 800 to 1000hp but more the 800hp with engine way it is but will need to pull the engine to put ring gap in it so very undecided atm

      Hey mate, cheers for watching, mate I seriously think this is a great gain of 150hp over what it had, but unfortunately not the gain it should have because of my standard series 1 fuel pump. Once I upgrade the pump to a vf, I will have 500/530hp without opening the engine. Whick is bout 100hp more than a n/a with cam on 98 pump fuel.
      Once with cam package how ever , I would definitely be looking at the 600+ mark with this setup. I done it this way cause it is big gains without touching engine and will complement a cam kit down the line . It just suited me personally to do it this way. Also I had plans of abusing it, which meant if I lunched an engine, I’ll just be looking for another stock ls, but my plans have changed now the Ls market has gone crazy. Sorry for the extended reply.

      For me Im just looking to be thrown back into the seat as hard as possible.. Wish I had a money tree..lol ..
      Very true what you said.. $10k for this 10k for that..
      Have you thought about Diff upgrades??

      @@rodwhitaker9834 if you have a vf serious 2 a harrop will do great, 500+ as a street car, turn key , good on fuel when being sensible and all the power you need when you stand on it. depending on what you doing with the car. I couldn’t be any happier and would recommend it. If you like revs I would recommend valve springs but that’s across the board, cammed or blown.

    Thnx for the info man,do you have the upgrqded fuel pump yet?
    Yeah the same ls engines with the same power from a cam aren't getting anymore stressed out with the power going to stock pistons etc, 450hp and 700nm whichever way you get there is still the same amount of stress on the engine/driveline...either way that's healthy power from 8psi,the torque is the number that's most important for sure,im pulling same 700nm atw and it's so much fun,hearing ya with people wanting to race,I just enjoy it for myself,not out to prove anything to anyone,just enjoying it.
    Have fun man,catch ya on the street sometime,park boy too here born and bred...one thing that's overlooked on these builds are oil pumps,keep an eye on ya oil pressure,the oil pump is the heart of ya engine,things can go boom pretty easy

      New pump and tune will be done before Summernats, decided that il do cam aswell. Get rid of the afm lifters and cam. They are known to fail. Not interested in big numbers just a tough streeters.

    • @adamlee9071
      @adamlee9071 Рік тому +1

      Exactly man,I went the opposite way for those reasons,people think it's just a cam and heads but they don't realise the pushrods,lifters,valve springs,rockers,head bolts and oil pump are all important to keep an ls with healthy power alive...and as long as you have a good builder/tuner they are easy to drive with cam,it'll hammer with that combo man,im debating supercharger on my build or stroking it,either way yeah I'm same as you,just enjoy a nice street car and show respect but at the same time have some fun with it...look forward to seeing how ya go

    Supercharging a stock engine is like having your dog on a leash and asking it to attack... your limiting and really not getting anything out of it besides it pulling hard on the leash... for 335kw on a stock engine your better off doing cam and engine work for less than the cost of the supercharger to net the same numbers you got putting the supercharger on then your truely ready to add on extra poweradders and make real power 335kw is easily capable with just engine work... you advising that your not pushing your engine, a supercharger is putting 8psi above atmospher your creating ALOT more heat and alot more pressure on everything in the engine, heads, vavles, pistons your doing alot more pushing than anyone doing engine work with camshafts and supporting mods to match the requirements. Supercharging and poweradders should be done like an engineer from factory meet the requirements of the unit your using a stock engine will take it yes but its not engineered for it at all

    • @gearheadindustriesmedia6890
      @gearheadindustriesmedia6890  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah nah mate, sorry, don’t agree.
      Only thing I would agree with is valve springs, but that goes for any combination.
      The Ls engine works fine with boost, and it comes down to what you want out of your combination, I’m showing it can be done, and if you remember, the only reason I didn’t get the numbers I should have is cause of my series 1 fuel pump, otherwise I should of been over the 500 hp atw which you can’t get out of stock ls without cam and serious fuel system up grade, huge head work and at least 85 if not methanol,
      Now I can tell you, it would cost a lot more than a blower.
      If you have series 2 ve or vf, 500hp is easily achievable with no stress on engine.
      My intake temps were fine cause the kit comes with an interchiller which kept intake temps low.
      Sorry bro, just don’t agree with you on this one ☝🏼
