Usually I like your videos, but when I do the pb adjustment I add a couple steps. First I adjust the drums just shy of dragging. Then take the truck for a short drive and check drums with my heat sensor gun. All Ok, back home to adjust the pb. I own a 94 pickup and a96 tacoma. The rear drums are supposed to be self adjusting but it isn’t very precise, so I adjust the whole system at once.
Petr, you are awesome! I love your videos and certainly informative and entertaining. Your explanations and cadence in your words reminds of a famous painter named William Alexander who told fantastic stories while using his "mighty" paint brush.
Just got my tacoma 2001 4wd 2.7L single cab and got a few minor things to adjust. Starting with e-brake, then air cabin stuck in half hot/half cold, P0125 (insufficient coolant temp), P1135 (AF sensor), C3111, P3000 (battery control system), and it smells like gas (poor gas mileage). I will be checking your videos! Thank you for this one, so simple and direct.
Is this Petr Finn, my favorite UA-cam Finn? 😮 Found this video by accident. Stayed for the narration and info. 👌 I’ve said it before: you have an excellent voice for teaching, my friend. ✌️ 🇫🇮 🍻
Some content makers have a live show monthly for supporters who pay a monthly subscription fee. The lowest I've seen is $5/month but cancelable at any time. Would that be suitable for you? A live stream was planned however the camera which was going to be used for the broadcast was scheduled for self destruct mode and broke before a broadcast was able to be presented..
I always pop out the adjustment/inspection plug first to see how worn the brake shoes are and whether they are adjusted correctly first. It takes very little driving with the parking brake not fully released to wear down the brake shoes and create this problem. Some people are pretty blind as to brake warning light next to the seatbelt warning light.
😂😂😂 Well I have experienced the emergency brake being used in an emergency. I hit a bad pot hole, driving up hill, in a car where the seat adjustor that hadn't locked properly, consequently the seat went flying backwards so violently I lost my grip on the steering wheel. I couldn't reach either the wheel or the pedals and was just panicking... fortunately my Dad was in the passenger seat and he immediately pulled on the emergency brake. I've also had the clutch break when I was in neutral on the side of a hill, with the replacement for a snapped break cable behind the seat. It took me nearly half and hour to force the car into gear, so I could safely leave the vehicle to go get help (no phone reception), in hindsight I probably could have let it roll down the hill until I bumped into a tree or something but in terms of not being hit by other vehicles I was in about the safest spot.
is this a rare tacoma with the non-digital odometer? 1:10 ... i was under the impression that it was no longer starting in 1998 on the taco... perhaps it was just on the 4wd models that it went digitial ? ? ?
TY,,,,,,WOW incredible very interesting super kool ,1st class great info.,, AAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++ again great video I liked it a lot ,keep up the great work.
Not like that. We always adjust from the adjusters that the manufacturer has put inside the rear brakes. The way you show is for those who have NO appetite and love.
Petr, It is always great to see a simple, RWD, manual Tacoma on your channel. Those old-fashioned handbrakes are a treat 😉
Agreed. It took a while to find a nice example in which to teach my kids to drive a stick. It's a time machine to them (it's 27 years old now).
its the old-man cane lever?

I needed a video like this. Thank you. 2001 Tacoma

You are amazing buddy. Please more videos with these little Tacomas.

Very clear and concise. Thank you.
Next please do a 1st generation Tundra. Not quite as simple with the LSPV with multiple cables. Appreciate your channel!
I wish you would do a live Q&A. Happily subscriber here

Interesting video Peter, thanks for sharing this information.
Happy Friday my friend! Have a blessed weekend
I would have checked the adjustment of the rear drum brakes before doing anything with the parking brake.
Awesome and useful video,thanks Petr!
I just changed the fuel filter on my '95. Had to find it on UA-cam first. They don't make it easy, and no wonder it vapor-locks in summertime. 😂
that reminds me of vice garage when he says his wife laughs and vapor locks when she can't breathe
@@LAactor I wish I could make mine laugh that hard 😂
Fantastic tutorial thank you!

Nice job
Wow, it works, thanks!
Is the system similar in a 2000 Camry? I also have parking brake handle which pulls all the way with no resistance; but braking is fine.
Can you do a fuel filter and fuel pump video for this exact model Toyota!!! Please 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Good job. It was braking bad and you made it braking good. Is this the same procedure for tightening the ebrake on my 89 Corolla?
handbrakes have it inside the cabin

Anyone know which type of roof rack is on the cap? Would love to get one.
How often do you believe we should adjust the parking brake?
Depends on how much you use. If you feel it pulls too far, time to do it.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I did mine that way
@@harryreyes8929 what do you mean?
Did you do it adjusting from the regulatory provisions inside the brakes? Or did you choose the unacceptable way that the friend shows?
@James Morgan what message do you mean???
@James Morgan
exactly what I am writing to you
The parking brake becomes an emergency brake real fast when you have a complete master cylinder failure.
We don’t care about the bed T cover are the transmission r anything but the e break. If you wanna show it off make another video.
