      Not really. Just have spent enough time exploring there to feel comfortable.

    Fascinating! I believe the abandoned house in the video is Kentoku Dojo (乾徳道場). Abandoned sometime in the 2010's. It had been occupied by an elderly couple prior to that. The couple claimed to be Nichiren, but the site is built on a former Fuji-ko site. I believe the consensus is that the couple moved away, since they were getting too old to continue living out there on their own. But, no one knows for sure since the couple was a bit reclusive...and just sorta vanished at some point in the 2010's. Fantastic stuff! Looking forward to more Jukai videos.

      Thank you for the info, I will try to look into it further. That must have been a tough place to live for an elderly couple, it is a long walk in from any road.

    It is so very beautiful there, but your friend Chris has been extremely lucky! A man named Johny from Australia who also has a channel on here, a few years ago went there to Aokigahara found 8 bodies in just a 48 to 72 hour time frame! Some where there a long time and some where just days or hours old. I do hope the number have gone down dramatically since then. Thank you for sharing the beautiful positive side of this forest. 💖🌹

      Anyone who wants to search for them specifically, they are possible to find. There is a common thing that people do, which is put tape down as they go off into the forest. Follow enough of those taped trails and you might come across... Most of the forest is not close to public transportation, so when hiking there you are highly unlikely to find anything. I am putting up a new video this Friday evening which is of a hike in an area where it is highly unlikely to ever find remains. Please check it out!

      It was a bit creepy, I have to admit. Especially since I went BACK to take the photo for the thumbnail, since I forgot initially. Going back it felt like when a character in a horror movie goes back despite knowing it isn't safe, lol.

    Excellent video. Really surprising that you didn't run across anyone else. Is this something that typically attracts a lot of tourists?

    • @Exjapter
      @Exjapter  2 роки тому +3

      The caves are major attractions, and other than the one at the house I didnt go near any of the other popular ones. That said, I really am surprised I didnt see any other hikers at all.

    As both a 廃墟 (Haikyo Urbex) and a writer of paranormal romances these have been very useful and entertaining, as well as lovely to look at. With things opening up perhaps I will get my passport in order and come look for myself. Thank-you for the lovely work

    Lots of gems in this video, bro...especially your sad-that-you-even-had-to-say-it, "No shortage of 🤬holes!" comment... 😂
    I was in that part of the forest for a bit on my way to the top of Fuji in Part 1 my Sea of Trees-to-Summit pair of videos, but having a different purpose for the trip, we didn't take the trail to that house. I am definitely game to explore more of that side of the forest in future trips!

      Never doubt that I would love to meet up and explore more with you and the Ronin. Sad it didn't happen last November, but it will for sure. I wanna witness whatever ceremony the Fuji-ko hold at that house!

    If you want to know more about the abandoned house and the cave, you should probably read "Aokigahara: The Truth Behind Japan's Suicide Forest". I am reading it now and I believe that this area is exactly what is described towards the end of the book. It's very intriguing to say the least.

      Sounds interesting! I hope it isnt too sensational though. Thanks for the recommendation.

      @@Exjapter It's a short, but well researched book. Nothing over the top. I believe the author moved to Japan and started digging for information while living there. You could also just skip to the part about this area, but since the book is so short and full of interesting information, it's worth it to read all of it.

    Check out Johny P. Hes Australian and has found several bodies hanging and remains on the ground. Returning them to their family for burial. It's an eye opener. Some found as near as several yards from main track and also close to bus stop. 🌿🌷🌷🌿
