If you're a waiter, and you know something was messed up, but the people at the table don't say anything... They're from the Midwest.
If your a waiter and know something’s wrong and still serve it yours douche
I'm from the Midwest and you betcha I'm speaking up if my foods messed up 😂
Those are really spot on & I'm guilty of the hat one 😂The "Ope sorry" or "Let me squeeze right past ya" is the best way to spot a Midwesterner!
"Beer and a Spear" may be the single greatest Midwestern Culinary Contribution of all time. I visited Wisconsin and brought the recipe back to Atlanta so I could introduce it to all of my Southern friends. "The only way I figure those Yankees could improve upon Beer, one of life's most delightful elixirs, which studies prove will heal the sick and occasionally raise the dead, is to put a pickle in it."
Their version of peanuts in coke
Just don't be putting your pickle in my beer.
Personally I love hot pickles in beer. This southern arky been doing it since I was a teen. My buddies thought it was weird till they tried it.
I have to try the pickle in the beer thing. I love pickles. I am a born and raised 10 th generations Texan but apparently I drink like a Midwestern. I love bloody Mary's that are a full meal also. LOL ❤
Lived in Iowa my whole life (54) and have never heard of the pickle in beer. A shot of whiskey with a pickle juice back I've done many times.
If they say ope sorry, you know you around a midwesterner 😂 👋
I'm a Carolinian but my dad is from Ohio, so I have residual Ope
Now here from Indiana we say OOpp my bad, movin right past ya
@@southtoe3607Yeah my dad's Minnesota "ope" rubbed off on me as well despite growing up in Texas
I'm from the Midwest and never realized I say it reflexively, until someone pointed out that it's a Midwestern thing to me. I also cannot turn it off, it just happens.
The obligatory Terry Redlin print in the living room.
Ya der hey
That was one of your most spot on videos you've made. As a midwesterner, I literally do ALL of these things.
The spear in the beer had me worried until he mentioned bloody marys and that should just be called a midwest breakfast
We do all of them except the stocking hat over the ball cap! Been in MN all my life and we don’t do that shit! 😂
Weird. I have lived my entire life in the Midwest only to discover I am not a Midwesterner now. I don’t do any of those things.
Ok, I have worn a hat, but generally only in the winter. And back in my college days, I did do some morning drinking once or twice (Smurf party anyone?)
@@leafygreen3666 We don't claim you. Lol
I like to fish and I will talk about the weather when I don’t know what else to talk about with an acquaintance or a stranger.
I will also give you directions to anywhere except my house.
The Midwestern smile in the thumbnail. That's the first clue lol😂
Can't drink all day if ya don't start in the morning. ❤ take care now
Spotting a Midwesterner… Wouldn’t they offer you a casserole, and you’ll hear them talking about the weather at least twice in one conversation?
Casserole? You mean hotdish.
@@TeacherofallIt’s both depending on whether you’re from Minnesota or Wisconsin
They’ll offer you a beer, say ope at least 3 times in a conversation
@@ethan1point0 of course. I do think the Midwest is more than those two states but you are correct.
We also say oh no yeah and oh yeah no 😂
All of these are so true!
-A Midwesterner
I don't even drink, but you had me at the full-meal Bloody Mary. Absolutely correct! There are bars in WI that are known for it! Wearing my Fall Ride sweatshirt from last year. Have two in-laws that are named Olson, but unrelated. They even went to the same HS!
Oh my gosh I looooove a spicy Bloody Mary with all the pickled veggies. Born and raised in Wisconsin. Wearing a UWSP Pointers t-shirt right now too. 😁
Just had a tomato juice and beer with a pickle spear for a 4th party last weekend.
That's a delicacy
V8 and beer is how my dad drinks it. Turns beer into a health drink.😂
Miles, you had me until you hit eating at chains. I always go local. My ability to find solid local establishments is a true gift from god
Spot on brother! Been active duty for 17 years and have been everywhere and literally still do all of those things! Love these vids.
Thank you for your service Belko 🇺🇸
So glad you are having a Busch Latte. I'll have to try the pickle spear with mine tomorrow.
East Coaster here. The hat over a hat is by far my favorite while I'm working.
Soary!
Oooooohhhh, that smirk and a nod! Yes!
Facts!! We had like 3 seperate Jackson family trees in my small cluster of small towns. There were the Jackson's that lived between Town A and Town B. They weren't at all related to a kid in my grade that lived outside of Town C. And he wasn't at all related to this other Jackson family that was in the same town as him. And they weren't related to the first Jackson family.
Ive once had a bloody mary where the straw was made out of a beef stick. It was amazing.
Back in 96 me and a bunch of my buddies went out west to Colorado and Wyoming on vacation for about 2 weeks. We lived on V8 Bloody Beers and Taco Bell.
We were young, and yes, we are from Iowa.
“As much shit as possible and pile it into a Bloody Mary” omg 😂
😂 it's so true. I have about 15 souvenir shirts and I wearing them all the time
If a man is 19 years old and groans like his poppa when rising from his patio chair to get a beer, he might be from around those parts.
Bloody Mary's...wait until you have a Caesar my friend. My sis used to bring back Clamato juice from Canada to school in the US for her friends.
Clamato is so good. Beer with clam is a godsend on hot days or hungover mornings
I lived in Wausau, Wisconsin for only eight years, but it definitely sunk in, dontcha know. Now I’m in South Carolina looking for snow and cheese curds. All I can find is boiled peanuts. Really, really good!
Another awesome video respect
Marshall Eriksen was from MN point in place lol
Filmed from the most Midwest house possible. The split foyer.
A lot of the Midwestern stuff applies to Ireland. Especially the drinking. Think I need a beer now actually 😂
Well I can relate to the travel shirt collection, though I lost my Tennessee Eclipse shirt due to the school custodian thinking it was just a random bag that no one threw away, while I was working on a cabaret for my school's choir. My grandparents are from The Region part of Indiana and back when they were in school, there was a guy named Paul who shared the last name with my grandpa at the time, they were unrelated, but they did like to do Smothers Brothers skits since that was the big thing then. My grandparents did name a son of theirs Paul though, he currently lives in Chicago.
My small town of 500 was seemingly filled with people who had the same last name as me. I was related to NONE. 😂
Seems like the midwest and southeast would get along alright.
we do. god knows how many snowbirds we both endure.
@@zachseeman5235 your comment immediately caused me to have an exasperated sigh.
the snowbirds are legit SHAMELESS. I genuinely can't imagine having as little self-awareness as them.
I've said it once and I'll keep saying it... Pittsburgh pa should be an honorary Midwest city!
“And when it comes to my eyes? Good fuckin luck son!” 😂😂😂
Ohioan here, got all the U.P. hoodies from our trips.
Say ya to da UP, eh?
Maiden name - Petersen. Dad was born and raised in Iowa! Represent!
Thats a little west but its as flat as the hoosier state so welcome to **** aboard
Not so fast, Iowa…. I know you desperately want to fit in, but the Midwest doesn’t want you. Idiots. Out. Walking. Around.
I get a beer chaser with a Bloody Mary in the Midwest. Not anywhere else
a beer backer is standard issue here in the U.P.
Well the moon was just a pit stop at Mars and I'll tell ya there no candy bars. Send in the mothership we need kwik trip asap!
😂plus like to say hi or taken their time at 4way stop
You forgot the steering wheel finger wave. Turns out people outside the midwest don't wave at each other while driving.
I used to live in a house with that exact same floorplan and it trips me out every time lol
That hoodie is sickkkk
My grandfather had the last name of Herr
So he was the original Mister Mister when he moved here from Germany. He picked a different name when he moved to America
I used to go to track meets in high school and they would announce the winners of the events .I used to win most sprints. The expected an Asian person but I was a white guy with the last name of Dow
Hey now, that eyelids are open time to pour a drink is EXACTLY how we’re gonna get to Mars before the guy who made a “vehicle” that can’t be washed in direct sunlight
My dad would have a bloody beer upon occasion.
True on the names. Then there was a revolt and one group decided Ripperger is pronounced 'Reebarger.'
I mostly agree... I require a massive coffee from the QT, Sheetz, or the Speedway prior to drinking a morning beer.
And out of respect, I remove both my hats whenever I enter a Red Lobster or a Cheddars.
"somehow none of them are related."
ohoho.. they're related ;)
I'm a new zealander and I'm currently running 4hats not all at once but 1 work one at work 1work one at home general one around home or going out amd 1 straw hat for summer outside😂😂 also love day drinking in the weekend 10.30 we on🍻
Im in PA, and we do all of these things as well.
Beer and clam is called a red eye great breakfast beer. If I'm not mistaken a bloody Mary /Caesar here in Canada usually has vodka, whiskey and or jin and all the fixings. Beer and spear delicious choice.
😂 hilarious.. but so true 😎
I'm watching this outside of Pittsburgh in my Wyoming hat. Lol
We have two Moore families in our town of 420 people. Not related.
The only chain we like is Culver's
Thank you!!!! 😂
if only they had better cheese curds and chili, I'd go there daily.
They had to change the cheese curds... bastards lol.@@greenmachine6146
Im parked behind one right now. And i love stocking caps over my baseball caps.
Ya can't drink all day if ya don't have a drink for breakfast! 😉 My personal favorite is the Bloody. 👍
Drinking in the morning is probably the one thing I’d get along with if I encountered a midwesterner based off this list 😂
Can't drink all day if ya don't start in the morning eh?
@@patricktaylor7021 And once you start you can’t stop, cause that’s when the hangover starts to kick in!
@tonymagona334 That's what the bloody beer is for! 🤣
Here me out, Miller High Life+a few drops of Tabasco+green olive= Hillbilly Martini
Double hat? Yes.
Souvenir T-Shirts? Yes.
Chain restaurants? Absolutely.
Blood Mary from H-E-Double Hockey Sticks? Oh heck yeah.
-Ski familes? Never seen them anywhere else.
Start the beer with a morning? Every gosh darn morning!
Bonus: Carhart hoodie with some worn jeans, anytime of the year? Yes.
Still more evidence south and Midwest would be on the same team in a civil war. Congrats on your first kid by the way! He's blessed to have you and Anne as parents
Approved
So god damn true.
Grew up in the Midwest but now live in the south but one thing I realized is all Midwestern folks seem to wear clothes one size to big. Seem to always have baggy clothes. I also was the same way when living there so I’m guilty of it to.
OMG‼️😂 I just posted a facebook status about the chain restaurant bit
I posted a pic of a super fancy restaurant and a pic of an Applebees and basically said that is small / hometowners prefer a classic chain restaurant that we’ve been to since we were like 8 lol 😂 over a new fancy expensive restaurant
Don't cha know!!!!
Super common last name and all the people in the town with my last name I wasn't related to OR I wasn't related to them via a common male ancestor. One example was my Grandpa's maternal aunt happened to marry a Robinson who was unrelated to the Robinson my Great Grandmother married. I can confirm that level of relationship too thanks to 23andme lmao.
I know several Bauers in my town. Not one knows the other.
Never heard of tomato juice in beer. That’s the weirdest thing.
As a lifelong Michiganian, i can confirm all of this is true! 😂💙🤚

How is it you can live in Michigan your whole life and not know we're called Michiganders?
Pbr and a pickle what more do you need?
Big dog.
Michigander here,
I hope you like how our state looks, because that's 99% of our souvenirs. The rest are of the Bridge.
We also like to wear our own souvenirs, because we really like how the state looks.
Not a “stocking cap,” a toboggan.
Omg yes, my mom's maiden ends in Ski, bbbbuuuhahahahaha and YES we love to drink and out souvenir shirts, I have a closet full of them
someone get this to the library of congress STAT. This is important regional information here
Ask for a spotted cow knowing full well they don't have it then remind them you have it at your local bar then ask for a Pabst then saw aww geez when they don't have that.
Or Strohs or Schlitz.
HHahHahahaha hallariois man Midwest great lakes best ppl beautiful region blessed we are a super power the real inland empire
Damn in the winter i wear a ball cap under my trapper hat. That way i can take the hot hat off in walmart and just wear my ball cap. The rest of the year its my cowboy hats.
Pickles are great with beer. This the first time I've heard anybody but me doing it.
Born and raised in Arkansas an hour from the southern border. Never been any further north than ok city and find out im a midweasterner.
Bloody Mary is Supper in A Glass, period
Keg and eggs😂❤
Beer with some tomato juice is a Polish Bloody in the Midwest, not a red beer lol
I consider Wisconsin to be the Upper Midwest. Nebraska and those “I” states there in the middle are Midwest.
Eggs & Kegs. OMG all true.
All of this is pretty foreign to me, but my football team just joined the B1G. So I'm pretty sure I know all about the midwest now.
I should be a midwesterner. I do all that, minus the chain restaurant, it does make sense. But being a city boy, when i do these thing, everyone thinks im crazy. I hate city life with a passion.
My parents live twenty miles from the Dells. They avoid going there like the plague. Too many tourists dontcha know?
And the tourists are from Illinois...uck
A southeasterner is about the same. Just turn what you said up to ten and add every bug known to man in the mix!
Being a Canadian living in the USA had to teach bartender’s how to make a good dirty bloody pickle juice or olive and of course CLAMATO😊
Pickles don't go in beer. Neither does salt, southerners!
They also love to rep their local sports teams (pro or not) and nearest big city.
Someday the Lions will win!
we drink because there is nothing new left to do
Those polish names are also popular around buffalo NY, Chicago may have Pulaski day, but we have dingus day… it’s a real thing look it up ya dingus
My pops grew up outside Chicago and I even was from there until 3-4 when pops moved us out here for some reason but yep… we were the only family to enjoy Bloody Mary’s and mimosas with brunch regularly while everyone else would ask if my parents were “ok”
Not to mention The “ope” my dad handed down to each of us
Is Oklahoma the Midwest or the south?
Martini with a soybean garnish.
I do zero of these things. The pickle beer thing is despicable. These sound more specific to Wisconsin. We don’t drink nearly as much in Ohio
Okay, I know that Busch is the unofficial/official sponsor of this channel... But pickles belong in a Grainbelt.
Beer with a pickle is pure Minnesota and I think it's disrespectful to the beer. Being from Wisconsin the only thing that belongs in a beer is more beer.
Pickle Peeb for the win
Ope, sorry. I didn’t mean to comment but whiskey in the coffee at 6am at the cabin. A OK.
Sounds similar to Aussies 😂
