Lyrics:
WORKIN' THE CORNERS
WHEN THE RECORD DEAL HAPPENED
AND THE WEEK BEFORE I FOUND OUT
I WAS SLEEPIN' ON THE FLOOR
WITH MY NEW BEST GAL
IN A VERY VERY EMPTY HOUSE
WRONG KINF OF NON CONFORMIST
THATS THE CASE AND ALWAYS BE
IN A SLEEPING BAG FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE
MY GIRLFRIEND AND ME
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL
NEVER KNEW ME A BETTER TIME
AND I GUESS I NEVER WILL
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL
SOME SAY THEY WAS HAPPY THEN
ME, I'M HAPPY STILL
DOWN AT THE LOCAL CANTEEN
YOU KNOW THE SMELL OF FRESH SAWDUST
WHEN THEY FIRST THROW IT ON THE FLOOR
YOU HEAR A ROCKIN' LITTLE RHYTHM
FROM INSIDE THE RYTHYM KITCHEN
AS YOU'RE WALKIN' PAST THE CANTEEN DOOR
120 DEGREES, GOOD TIMES SPREADING LIKE HUMANITY
HERE'S WHAT I FOUND OUT
THIS ONE BELONGS IN THE BOOK OR IT OUGHTTA BE;
WE'LL DO A SHOT AS WE SAIL OUT!
THE AUTHORITY'S IMPLORED US
AND IT HAPPENED FREQUENTLY
IN A SLEEPING BAD FRONT OF THE FIREPLACE
YOUR GIRLFRIEND AND ME
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL
ITS A DAMN GOOD STORY
AND THERE'S STILL MORE TO TELL
SOMEWHERE OVER THE RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL
SOME SAY TIME AIN'T GOT BETTER
MAYBE THEY STILL WILL.
YEAH WE KNOW ALL THE PUNCHLINES
BUT WE STILL LAUGH LIKE HELL
ONE THING NEVER CHANGES;
STILL CAN'T AFFORD THE BILL - Розваги
Imagine the life he’s lived. He was essentially a super hero in the 70s and 80s. He must be looking back after his partner in crime has passed. I bet he thought those days would last forever.
In spite of all the drama, Dave and VH will leave a faultless legacy of great rock n roll music.
"He was essentially a super hero in the 70s and 80s",, Dave IS a superhero still. Have you heard this song ;)
yeah father time sucks..#LLVanHalen
@@manman-ou6ey a big fat ass bro. Where the fuck did 30 years go?
he's there to inspire, and encourage us, or remind us why we leave it to guys like him,
he's singin' to the ladies of the eighties, he's singin' to the seventies,
he'll be singin' to me when i'm in my sixties, if i ever get that far that is~
Dave writes lyrics like no other. Always has. Incredible storyteller, singer, songwriter, showman, adventurer...
On the off-chance you read this Dave, I just want to say thank you. The music that You, Ed, Mike, and Alex created helped me get through a warzone for a childhood. Music saves man. Over three decades removed, and happily middle aged, your creation has never left my ears. So just...thank you.
Very very well said I agree 100%music saves the soul
SAME
Music is the #1 drug of all the world... thanks for helping ease the pain Diamond!
I agree w that except, for Mike. It was all ed, al n Dave. Mikey didn't contribute much if anything
@@jaywagner539 I disagree. There were some songs where the bass really added a lot besides just rhythm to the song (Runnin' with the Devil, So This is Love?, and others). Plus, his high harmony vocal contributed to one of the happier sounds that VH provided me as my middle/high school Prozac - the VH harmony. That was a wonderful sound and instantly makes me happy when I hear it.
I loved Dave when I was a kid..I'm 57 now and still wanna be like him when I grow up!
“Hey Ed
I’m gonna miss YA’
See you on the other side.”
-Great tribute Dave. You are the greatest frontman EVER.

Wish I had a time machine . Watching these guys grow old and leave us is sad . David Lee Roth and Van Halen were a big part of my youth . It reminds me that I am 10 years behind them . God Bless David Lee Roth .
After watching Roth on the Joe Rogan Show, seriously, Contender for Most Interesting Person in the World!
Rock On Dave!
RIP, Eddie.

I've always loved Van Halen. But I've always loved Dave's solo music just as much. Skyscraper... Classic album.
I wish more Dave fans had appreciated his '90s albums...
@@foxmulder761 I think they do, they just don't talk about it. Man, when Dave's time on Earth us done, Everyone is gonna be like, " Man I've been listening to Dave my whole life man. Especially his solo stuff." It's sad but true. Just how people are. I loved all the 90's stuff.
he was the real brains-and-the-heart of that little band, way-back-when...
it seems to me, the brothers and he, were just lucky, that they had one good friend:
namely MIKE!
@@tinfoilhatter Mike could do it all. Watch Van Halen the Early Years. Eddie was really digging Mike from before day one.
If I had to bet either way I'd say Eddie faked his death & is young again on Vampire Island
David Lee Roth is the greatest showman. There is nobody who has the wit and showman ability of this man. A true American Icon.
Jim 'Dandy' Mangrum of Black Oak Arkansas did it first.
I don’t know how the world’s greatest guitar player and the world’s greatest front man ended up in the same damn band... but I’m sure glad they did.

What a Frontman....He and Eddie were always smiling and never took themselves too seriously ....Van Halen one the best band ever.
Made life so much better...they were like Lennon n McCartney...but more fun ...and not a days passed i didnt play a van halen inspired lick...party on Dave...
that was one of the things that separated Hagar from Roth. the fact that Dave and Ed never took themselves seriously where is Sammy took everything seriously.
@Bubba Hubba get em bubba #gosple
Can't live in the past man this song sucks
@Bubba Hubba Ya both don't know Van Halen since Eddie wrote nearly all the music and he could've had anyone replace DLR and made them better. Steve Perry from Journey was asked to join VH and that could have made his career even better. So it s what it is and Eddie...plain and simple...wrote damn good music
Love this new tune. Roth’s vocals are spot on!!
Beautiful song. Ed is smiling at this tribute. Class act Dave.
Mr. David Lee Roth only gets better with age Saw you and the brothers first in 1983 I was a young kid..but then i grew up we all did ..saw Van Halen perform throughout my life 80s, 90's 2000's but the best was
when I took my Son to see you and the boys a few years back in Jacksonville. Thanks Dave...you are one of the highlights of my life...

Since my youth Van Halen Roth changed everything, I've hit the ground running ever since. 1978 VH, always go back to it - made everything better in a world full of uncertainty. RIP Ed - a grateful world of fans thanks you !
Sorry for your loss Dave! Y'all put a dent in the universe! That music defined my youth. So many fond memories involved VH music. Summer, fast cars, a Van Halen cassette cranked, chasing girls and the smell of Coppertone.
Yeah, Spring Breaks and summer vacations with Van Halen kept the sun shining on our bronzed faces. Good old days.
Best comment. ☮️

You guys were giants walking the earth and we remember.
Lost my best friend almost ten years ago. Both of us obsessed with VH during those magical years. This song would make him smile from ear to ear. Not just nostalgia. But the sense that we keep those things forever. Those two mischievous boys survive. Thank you for the perfect song to reflect and smile. RIP Eddie.
Great work Dave ..... Eddie is smiling and laughing from heaven!
"Some say they was happy then, me I'm happy still", yes I met my wife at the Rainbow Bar and Grill on Sunset and those were the days... 27 years and counting! ...and still happy! This song is THE most meaningful Roth song I have ever heard, and I thought nothing could touch "And the Cradle Will Rock" or "Yankee Rose"! Loved Roth in the Van Halen years and especially the solo years. ALL is fantastic! THANK YOU DAVID FOR SINGING ABOUT MY FAVORITE PLACE IN LOS ANGELES... THE RAINBOW BAR AND GRILL! For those of you unfamiliar, please visit.
Nice tribute Dave. All us fans will miss him too. So glad we had him while he was here.

I'm so happy you finally released one of the songs you recorded with John Lowery! And it's a lovely tribute to Edward. The two of you created something special, David, that will NEVER be duplicated. So hard to accept that we'll never see that again. I pray your soul is healing. I love you. ❤
He’s released two other songs from these sessions.
My GOD......Diamond David Lee Roth.....You Never Cease To Amaze....Wit,,,,Lyrics,,Athletics,,Drawing,,,Singing....Is There Anything You Can't Do ??
This song is in a category of its own. Simply a meaning beyond it's lyrics. Thank you Dave.
As me and my son set 5th row watching David Lee Roth in Wichita Kansas this February.. I was so happy that my 9 year old son could watch 3 legends David Lee Roth Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons. But as I left the show I couldn't help but wonder what that Van Halen reunion tour could have been like. Cancer Sucks and so does 2020. Let's enjoy all of our rock stars that we still have and RIP to the Legends we have lost
DLR, you will always be the true voice of VH. Thanks for keeping the torch flaming high. EVH FOREVER 💔
When you guys got together the stars were aligned like never before and I doubt that they ever will again like that. Somethings are just meant to be and things are meant to happen. Losing Eddie is hard for a lot of people like myself. But I can only imagine how you must feel. My heart bleeds for ya man. The last show y’all did when you looked at him and said “the best times in your life was right there in stage with you Ed and Alex”I don’t tear up easy but I did then and I did listening to this song to. Bye you did a great job on this song, Dave! Keep the flame going as long as you can you’ll have my support. Stay frosty!!
So refreshing... Different and yet still has David lee Roth vibe coming through strong! Voice sounds crisp.

Such a touching tribute to Eddie, I got a little teary eyes listening to it. Dave, Eddie, Alex and Michael put out the best music of their time and they were such a kick ass band. So underrated. So was "Skyscraper" for that matter. There was one he did where he walking around the subway with some hot Asian looking girl that I like alot also, and never could figure out why that wasn't a Billboard single.

This is such a happy song,, if I'm having a bad day the moment I hear this song it puts me in a good mood, thank you Dave for making this song, it takes me back to the early 80s when I went to the Rainbow.
Fantastic track! Great to hear the Diamond shining still.💎☺
Thank you, DLR! Glad to have lived you guys during your days together. Love, Gen X 💕 #ThoseWereDamnGoodTimes
Eddie’s passing has hit me pretty hard, he has always been my favorite guitarist. It’s really been a somber time, 2020 has been a tough year.
I never got to meet him but I saw VH in concert 11 different times in 4 different states over the years. - 7 times with David Lee Roth and 4 times with Sammy Hagar.
Back in the days of General admission tickets, we would show up early and get front row.
At the end of the Women and children first or the Fair warning tour concert Eddie reached over and handed me a guitar pick. I have it in our safe deposit box along with all my concert ticket stubs. I’m very grateful to have those memories of seeing VH in concert!
Once after one of the concerts, we were waiting outside the backstage door and we saw Valerie Bertinelli with Eddie. We were probably 10 or 12 feet away but didn’t get to meet them, security kept everyone back. Even though there was only twenty or twenty five people there.
Rest In Peace Edward Van Halen, you were one of a kind!
I did. The year was 1993. In front of the Palms. He was there hanging out with his female trainer, got an autograph. He was all smiles and congeniality. Still have that autograph somewhere....
Kleo Patra Very cool!!!!!!
Things will get better brother. Stay positive, there always is a light at the end of the tunnel
I did also, I had my daughter with me she was nine months old and I wanted to ask him if I could take a picture of them together. I didn't even have to ask. As soon as he saw her he opened his arms and took her from me and played with her while I snapped pictures. It was back before digital cameras, so later that day I dropped the film off for one hour developing and waited impatiently. An hour later I went back to get the pictures praying to God that they came out good, I opened the envelope and I swear I couldn't believe what I saw. These were probably the best pictures ever taken with a 35 mm camera. There's one where she's basically chewing on the autograph he gave her another one just as she pulled his hat off his head and a bunch where he's just sitting with her holding her and smiling. He was fucking awesome with her. She's 23 now, and it was her that came into my room that morning with tears in her eyes and told me he was gone. He was definitely a class act, and as far as I'm concerned Dave just showed us that he is too ✌️
Those general admission shows were insane! Fair Warning tour.....❤
Today Eddie has been gone for 4 years. The master, the king and the legend will always be rocking and jamming on the other side shredding as always. Like this says “Hey Ed, I’m gonna miss ya, see you on the other side”. Long Live The Edward & Long Live The Mighty Van Halen!!! 🤘🏻🎸🕊️
Diamond Dave 💎 one of the best!!!
He truly is.
My ❤ IS FULL.
Nothing last forever but how lucky we were to have been alive and walking the planet at the same time as these giants. When I look around today at what the youth have it is total garbage. Nothing compares to the fun times and brilliant music we had from the 70s and 80s early 90s.none of us are getting any younger, but we've all led lives worth living. God bless us all if you were there you were really there ❤️
Love how he recognized his age here and took advantage of his limits. He sounds great here! Congrats on yet another good one Dave!
Rip Ed, you’ve gave me back my hope in life. Thank you
Thank you Dave for decades of wonderful music and wonderful memories. And Ed; you changed the trajectory of my life in a way I could have never imagined as a boy. Thank you for fueling my passion for the guitar. You will never be forgotten.
Wow!!! This song is so perfect for him ,he was the master of the strip back in the Gazzarri daze, only Dave can give us this brand of nostalgia. And kudos to John 5 who can play so many styles of music and gets to showcase more of his mellow ,folk and even country side more than he can w zombie.
Great song! Hopefully a full-length CD will be coming! Love John 5! Eddie Van Halen rest in peace!
Diamond (Dave's) are forever!! RIP EVH.
The most beautiful voice in music.
We were awesome then, what a ride.. From you in 77, to you with Vai... T'il now.. We haven't changed, you are and always will be a Diamond in the Ruff. 4 decades later (since the 80s) and still Jamming to you Dave, Love it!
Very cool tune. DLR is, hands down, the greatest front man in Rock and Roll history. No one will ever achieve that level of showman ship again. He is the definitive standard for all the rest that will chase but fall short.

Aww, thank you Dave for the ray of sunshine! Listening to this helps kick my depression over losing Eddie!
It's when Dave lays his heart bare in songs that I realize , and re-realize what a truly unique and amazing person he is. Is there anyone able to express inner joy better than him in songs like Just Like Paradise or this one here?
