I have read they know about the heat issues and will roll out a Firmware update (may already have) to address this issue. I have mine just off the floor on its side to try and help keep this cool. Even in modem mode it gets hot. Intel have pulled the Puma 7 Development kit off the website. I am unsure of the lawsuit in America that happened with Aris and Intel both being sued because how bad the Puma chips have been and still have issues to this day. This HUB will soon be outdated due to no mesh or Wi-Fi 6, I also want to add that I still have issues with the interface and can access the HUB on both the HUB ip and the Modem ip addresses. There is very few settings and very little in parental control on the HUB. I did find separating the 2.4ghz and 5ghz stopped the HUB from flicking between the two when there was no need. Here is a link to an article regarding both the HUB 3 and hub 4 approvedmodems.org/bad-modems/
This is a complete fraud I’ve got this from the prior wifi it’s horrible I lag everywhere
I had it was so slow it made me give up virgin media 😪 contract
My M350 package is so fast and reliable I get up to 380mbps almost constantly LOL
Do you get anywhere near a gig though or they just false advertising as per usual
did u watch the vid it shows him getting 950+mbps and its not false advertising they clearly state that some areas have less of a strength but guarantee that it should not drop below 550mbps
@@MrSteve831 the machines you are testing on need to be able to handle the 990Mb speeds. I have a macbook pro with ssd, and it will only give me just under 500Mb, but an ipad pro with usb c ethernet adapter will give me 981Mb and my desktop with a fiber connection to my switch will give me 989Mb. Its not the service its the machines that are using it
@@backaxel75 i'm using a 2019 macbook pro mate and have a new xbox series x , i deleted a massive game (GTA5) then installed it again just to see how long it would take and at what speed to install it again , both on cable , its went up since last time , its 190mb for macbook but the xbox is hovering around a steady 120mb , still not acceptable for over 60 quid a month , i'd see the point if i was using a 10yr old macbook on high serra and that but my macbook isn't even a year old . not happy with virgin.
Don't waste your time and money No after sale service the worse joke ever
Arris\ pace wireless routers are a hot pile of steaming garbage. As long as it has a good stable cable modem and the ability to shut of the worthless WiFi functionality and add your own router then that's all it's good for.
Lol the upload for virgin is so bad
50mb upload ! why ? too slow
Because its a residential service, very few people need fast upload.
What do you do that requires more than 50mbps?
50mbps is enough for 2 people in your home to do 4k video conferencing, or 10 people doing 1080p.
If you need more then youll need to pay more for a symetric broadband connection.
@@stephendavies269 can we look at the bigger picture, sure there are less people who upload but still exist and on top providing symmetrical connection is plus for consumer even if you don't use.
@@mrduck7957 Its just impossible for cable internet (called DOCSIS) to provide symmetrical speeds. 50Mb is a bit low for 1Gb-down though, I'd have thought it would be 100Mb up.
Myself I've got Hyperoptic 1Gb which is symmetrical. The most I've ever uploaded in a month since Dec 2018 is 50GB, if that was a file it would take 2.5 hours to upload from Virgin (or 8 minutes with my 1Gb). But like I said that was over an entire month.
The only people who really benefit from higher than 50Mb upload are people who work from home a lot that regularly upload big files, or UA-camrs. Otherwise 50Mb is a bit on the slow side for anyone else who wants to upload their pointless TikTok videos lol
