Hey everyone! Thought id post this short(ish) tutorial on how I make my custom headlights / grills etc!! New video coming tomorrow so UHhhh Yeah stay tuned i guess eh!
The Patchwork mod is integrated in the vanilla game now btw, having the mod installed just gives you a duplicate of each type with slightly different thumbnails.
Just to the right of the headlight mod you used for the grill bars there's another mod included in the same mod pack that allows you to add pieces to add inset separations in the headlights and some other reshaping, but they also make for good border pieces for the lights and grills. I honestly think they're better for forming the edges than the slope pieces. That said, their default placement is just slightly below the headlight glass, so you have to do some juggling sometimes to make it look right.
Author of dog tape stated there was an updated version for 4.21, check the author’s Steam workshop page. Glow sticks has also been updated as well from what I can find.
Great totorial- note, I mostly build my cars for the acceleration and handling, the design is second to me but I still spend time on it in order to get a good looking and fast car, I tend to get really good handling.
Hey!! Here's an idea: Try to make a car with "inverted" torque and hp. Like, it starts with a lot of power, but slowly decreases when the revs increase
im seeing this video like 3 years after release. The patchworks mod is no longer working? Because i subscribed to it on the workshop but in game it doesn't appear to be working. Anyone could help me out?

I think a tutorial of making a car using 3D fixtures could be cool and useful.
This will help me in so many ways. I will be watching this over and over again to get things right.
I don’t even have this game yet but I find it awesome to learn the stuff for when I get it
Without mods: proceeds to name mods you need
Please keep making these tutorials, you are amazing at making cars.

Ah yup I noticed that after rendering the video. Oh well xD
Better safe then sorry :P
@@TwinTurBros The point of the tutorial comes across regardless though, good stuff
What about the reverse dog-tape? I'm new to the game and looking to cut bodywork.
@@vergaerd nope, mod only
Sarcastic version would be:
So you need blender...

These tutorials are the best thank you
Glad it could be of use bud :D
Give us 300mph shopping cart
Btw love you
Thanks for tutorial! Nice, genius way to make special front and rear lights easier.
It surely allows for more creativity!
More tutorials will come in the future :D
@@TwinTurBros Looking forward to it :D
In the 8:50 how you do the offset? Thanks.
Thanks for the spiffy tutorial
Do you know how to make sure the lights work properly in beamng. Been making some short films but the lights never work right.
Both the reverse dog tape mod and glowsticks mod aren't compatible with the latest version. Are there any good alternatives to these for now?

@@nathanw7114 oh okay thanks!
How did you sink the back in

I should mention that this is helpful!.
Hey!! Here's an idea: Try to make a car with "inverted" torque and hp. Like, it starts with a lot of power, but slowly decreases when the revs increase
All engines do this after max power, if one can make early max power then your idea is conceivable
@@rcvbilly4265 Exactly! Bad English, sorry haha
man hp is a product of torque times rpm
there's no way hp can decrease as rpm increases
Finally I will be able to make cars look not like speedy blobs of disappointment

how do you keep fixtures from locking in the middle in the turbo update
What mod is it with all of the sponsorships
Please do more of these
Great tutorial
Finally!
Nice!
Nice profile pic 🥳
@@lucasolivo2785 i could say the same
Idk if anyone else noticed but the discord link doesnt work
The game says the dog tape mod is incompatible and I can’t use it.
I made custom grille and vents, but gave up on headlights :c
not enough fixtures XD
The headlights can be tricky! Patience is your friend :D
thx man
Rye, did you eat a bucket of gravel before you did the voice over for the time-lapse bits? Ya sound pretty rough there bud.
Does it o.O
It was recorded right after lmfao
@@TwinTurBros 🤷♂️ sounds like it to me.
The mods are not working for me
Tutorial with nonmod part pls
Nice
I would find it very much in my interest if you make a video on how to make the chassis disappear in beamng.
There is a button on the side "show chassis". Disable that.
@@felixporter8335 wait, that carries over into beamng? THIS IS REVOLUTIONARY
cool vid
Very cool vid!
Ravioli ravioli give us the formuoli
Meatball, meatball spaghetti underneath!
How to make custom headlights WITHOUT mods???
Lots of the fixtures I use are now stock fixtures in the game! Just look in the "body molding" section!
