I’m a mechanic and you did a very good job explaining your kind a like me you take a few things off more than you need to but just get them out of your way and be done with it nice video
12:04 most relatable moment when working on cars
this water pump can be revove from the lower area by disconnecting the a/c conpressor much faster.
Oh yeah? You go through the wheel well and move the compressor out of the way?
Thanks for this video, it helps me prep for what needs to be done! Question though... Can I just remove the alternator for easier access to the water pumps bolts?!
Not sure if it’s too late but you can do it through the wheel well apparently so you don’t have to lift the engine or anything else
That torque wrench looks exactly like the harbor freight one I just bought
Great videos guys. By any chance can you make a video “How to replace steering rack” on Kia Forte 2016. Thank you!
I found it easier to remove the alternator, you can get the pulley off without removing the engine mount, otherwise very helpful thanks (I did this on a 2ltr, it has a tensioner pulley at the rear, a long 17mm spanner is needed)
Gracias, excelente.
Video ends before adjusting alternator....?...after reinstalling the belt, how do you get the timing belt tension set back to correct?
Not a timing belt
Drive belt. And just tighten it to German spec.
I gotta 2016 kia sorento 2.4ltr none turbo, I have been having engine temp issues, heres the story lol
I drove to work, parked looked at my gauges and sent that I had no to very little engine temp. So naturally i changed the thermostat, no change. I then thought I might still have some air in the line, burped it bit still no change. It will heat up to what looks to be normal, but when I turn my blower on full I lose engine temp. Keep in mind nothing is leaking. I checked the oil aswell to see if maybe my head gasket was leaking, it's all good. I can drove with my blower on low and gain engine temp and it holds just fine but when I out it on full I lose engine temp aswell as when I take off from a stop sign i lose engine temp. I am now thinking it may be the belt slipping is that possible or do you think it could be something else. I have no check lights or warning lighting up .
What was it? 👀 Was it the belt?
How many miles did you have on the car before you did that and did it go break or did it leak and what happened to the pump
@ThePariss333 that's what i just commented the same thing too. No sealant was even holding the gasket on. The gasket and pump looked brand new with no wear at all. Lol
I have a Kia Ceed with 86000KM on the meter. At what KM mark would you advice me to replace the waterpump ? Or should i just wait for it to fail and fix it then ?
Keep looking like pulling the alternator is easier than the engine mount steps.....
is same for kia rio 1.1 crdi to take out the belt?
There is a broken bolt on my water pump the left bottom closet to timing cover will it hold coolant still or am I screwed
Hahaha. Yikes!
Why not just remove the alternator?
Does me no good as my water pump isnt even in the same location. I think you make this seem much harder than it really is
This job is straight forward and easy.
My KIA Forte has 125K miles on it. Should I replace now or should I wait until there is a problems? What about Oxygen Sensor?
I have about 160k on my kia soul, and I've never replaced either. No issues here!
wouldnt be a bad idea. depending on the year id smash out the lower radiator hose plus heater core inner and outter hose plus throttle body coolant innner and outter hose. wouldnt take to lon
@ThePariss333 For the coolant, do you drain and refill three times to make sure that it's completely flushed? If so, it's probably better and cheaper to drain all of it, then run some water and probably a cleaner specific to the cooling system for a while (let it heat up maybe 20 mins) then drain. ChrisFix has a good video on flushing a cooling system.
@ThePariss333 Well, it seems like a waste of antifreeze to me, since you are filling it three times. There are cleaners available that work very well, you don't have to utilize your method. What is your native language? I'm just curious.
@ThePariss333 Congratulations
Take that big ass watch off and your rings any mechanic knows better than that
Lmao
These arent mechanics.
Mine is leaking water ac turns off looks like water pump area or compressor please help
you don't need a torque wrench for water Pump bolts
Some of the newbies have no clue as to how much is ‘too loose’ or ‘too tight’.
You need it until your elbow starts to click on its own.
Cant understand you
Ignorant american.
Literally just pull it out at an angle. You wasted about an hour of your own time not using your brain.
The engine doesnt need to be jacked up?
@@clayton9136 no. You can literally do everything you need without doing all that extra shit. Maybe move your tire slightly outward and your good.
@@aj22shu33 go through the wheel well?
@@clayton9136 I did to put the belt on and off
@@aj22shu33 word. Thanks brother. I looked at it and you're definitely correct.
