I’ve always been a huge fan of Mesa. But always too expensive. I chose the MT-15. I got it when the first issue came out. Paid $649. Also got the single PRS 1-12 v-30 cab. Love it!!!! For $1100 I got the combo. Having said that. The head sounds amazing going threw a 4/12 cab.
Not cheap but I run 2 mini recs in stereo into 2 Mesa cabs. With enough pedals I could open a store I sometimes just zone out and sit in the middle and noodle. I have also ran the mini rec in stereo with the EVH lunchbox which surprisingly worked well.
A tube screamer in front of this is alright. But the Friedman Buxom Boost is where's it's at. A good, fat but tight bottom end boost really gets this thing chugging.
Awesome demo and fantastic playing as always mate. With a Mesa Rectifier amp and a PRS guitar I was betting I would hear some Nu Metal .... but as ever your music selection was first class! I would love it if you did Spotify playlist of the songs you play!
I'm not a fan of the 10w mode. There isn't enough head room and it doesn't saturate as well. Is it quieter? sure. But you can also accomplish that by running a volume pedal or that JHS Volume knob through the effects loop. Full saturation from preamps with low volume on the power amp.
@@mattpn Mesa for sure! You can’t beat the versatility of this amp and the fact that it has a lot of low end for a low wattage amp. I’m sure the Dark Terror is good for the money but it is a one trick pony
What are your thoughts about this against the OR15? Thinking about getting the rectifier but can’t really justify it because I think the orange is more than good enough.
The Mesa is much more American sounding than the Orange, they are different beasts. The Mesa has that early 2000s sound whereas the Orange is quite vintage with a modern twist. If you can get both I would do it. Something to be aware of with the Mesa is it does need a bit of volume. At super low volumes it’s a bit fizzy. The Orange is brilliant at all volumes 👍
This is how every amp demo should be done!
TOTALLY AGREE !!
Agree
Great demo! Love the fact that you just play and let the sounds speak for themselves.

Sounds mega, I sold my EVH lunchbox head and regret it so much. I want to get another one in the future 👍
As a recto guy I'm happy that you have shown the versatility of what it can do. All the others are this versatile and then some.

Thanks mate 👍. I wish I could with the songs but copyright is an absolute mess on UA-cam. Until they sort it out I can't say them or link to them.
BEST DEMOS on UA-cam! Give this dude a SUB!
Perfect demo as always !
1:04 I'm obsessed with Myles and Mark. I love that Song. Rock on🤘🤘🤘

Dust! Nice and very unexpected Tremonti reference there.

Gotta love a rectalfier
If money was no object I probably would have gotten one of these. Instead I got an Orange Rocker 15 \m/
Orange vs Mesa
Dark terror vs mini rectifier !

Opening riff reminds me of in flames. Some melodic death stuff
its as i lay dying i think
@@solidsnakec20 So not In Flames but In Chains?
100% parallels - as i lay dying
@@solidsnakec20 yes,parallels
When are u gonna do more vs videos of multiple amps side by side those are the best
There will be some to come in the future. I want to do a small tube combo shootout and many others 👍
Noone came here for the clean channel
