I've said it before and I'll say it again, a good camera will always be good, regardless of how old it is. And the BMPCC4K is a particularly fine camera.

Especially for the price! For the price you can't ever beat it, and it's hard to justify buying something else up until like Komodo tier

I shoot short films on it. It's an incredible soft and creamy camera. An Slr 25mm on it and you got the Arri look.

Yeah, I'm snapping out of speed booster bullshit, I started noticing it's really trashing the image, especially light sources. Doubt I'll be buying any MFT lenses, but might start using a usual EF adapter. I used to have an original BMPCC so crop is not an issue for me I guess

@@BorisTheArtist I would not say that. But be very careful using speedbooster with direct sunlight or harsh lights. It will melt the protective screen leaving it spoted. & plenty of cheap mft lenses. No need to over spend for that wonderful look.

Nice! I so agree about the screen. When I'm shooting with GH6, I must always use an external monitor and I just hate those Japanese camera menus. Everything is like straight from the 90s. BMPCC 4K is so good. My favorite camera too.

Yeah, honestly, I'm so torn now, as I planned to sell this camera, but I even took off the cage now and it's even better for travel kinda stuff and run and gun. Really might keep it for a while, probably until can justify buying something else. Lumix and BM combo covers it all I think

hey @linnanjanne I have the GH6 as well and I found a used bmpcc4k for a very good deal.
Do you think it worth it to have both?
Or just keep the GH6 and that's fine?
*I don't need to use 2 cameras simultaneously

@@ruriabrandao Hey! Go for it! I don't also need to use them simultaneously but you never know if you have to someday. It's nice to have that option. Having two different brand cameras and using the same lenses on both is super nice. I got the 4K first and for some reason bought the used GH6 after. I do use them both, but my favorite still is the Blackmagic. There was a quite big learning curve for me on how to grade Braw at first. It wasn't that easy especially when doing everything on Final Cut. But when you get it right the results are so unreal. But Gh6 is so good too 👍

All the criticism you are citing are valid and also not. Yeah the battery is really bad, its not low profile, bulky for traveling, and even the monitor could be improved. But that's if you want to treat it like a mirrorless hybrid camera, which is not. Its a cinema camera, everything from the form factor to the software is design for taking video which is why the experience feels so streamlined. No need to go through menus related to photography. Its big but that gives you a better grip. It was meant to be rigged to an extent, follow focus, monitor, battery, etc. People should be able to walk into a film set and know where the camera is lol.

Yeah, you describe a cinema camera for sure and I agree with that description. But thing with Pocket is in its name, literally. Pockets, since OG to 6K Pro, were advertised like a run and gun, solo operated, all in one package kind of camera. They even made tiltable screens in order to prove that concept. So it was me trying to use the camera as advertised haha
But if we treat it as an on-set camera, then it's a different situation in general. Then you don't need a 5 inch screen on the back cause you'd use external one, you don't need dual iso, cause you'd stick to base and control your lights and overall, it would look something like Red or Arri
