    One thing maybe some riders don’t think of is, for example, in the case of the Pirelli Supercorsa, if you aren’t riding it very hard to get it up to temp and keep it there, it won’t perform as well as, say, an S22 which will stay in its optimal heat (and therefore grip) range in very spirited road riding. Even carving the twisties, every time you’re behind a car or at an intersection, or not full throttle on every straight and full brakes into every turn, track-oriented tires (and brakes) will cool and lose performance. Food for thought.

    Metzeler last +20 years. Only tire that seemed to work on ZX12R. M9RR has very stiff carcass that keeps the shape better with a result of better turning. Silica tire today is a must.

    Have a ducati1198s running the m9rr and gsxr1000 running rosso corsa ii, I would say the m9rr is a better rd tyre, what i mean by that is here in West Australia our good roads are in the hills, we have pea gravel, loose bluemetal and Honky nuts ( yes thats what they are called) to deal with and i find the PRCii less forgiving when you hit these mid corner, but i think the s22 fronts are the best i may try m9rr rear and s22 later. Pirelli are $60 dearer a tyre than metzeler and Bridgestones but grip wise i find them pretty equal, i think it comes down to what you feel confident on, even the Motoradd track test put Bridgestone 1st and m9rr equal to corsaii, i just think for the road m9rr are more forgiving on less than smooth roads

    Very decent review and you provided me with the impressions I was seeking for. Will go with the S22 because I prefer the turning stability more than a feeling the front end gives you the impression of sliding away due to its higher agility.

    I have no experience with Pierell or Metzler but seems the M9 and Rosso 3/4 are comparable but guess they are sister company or Pie owns Metzler.

      Metzler M7 Rosso 3
      Metzler M9 Rosso 4
      The Bridgestone S22 warms up a bit quicker. They are all really good, the Metzlers/Rossos maybe have a little bit longer lifespan, no personal experience with neither of them, though.

    What bike are you riding for this video? For the record, Put me down for the M9RR's. 50K miles on M7RR's on a ZX14R. Ridiculous grip on normal roads if your remotely sane and sublime in the wet. Also fantastic mileage on a 209 rwhp bike in my experience. Your bike sounds glorious 👍.

    After running Pirelli Corsa 2s and ContiAttacks for a while I was quite disappointed in the S22s... Slower to get up to temp and even then there is less grip, especially in the cold. Not a bad tire, but far better products are out there.

      for me, the Pirelli's did perform better but were absolutely horrendous with tire wear. i had to change my tires 2 months sooner than the M9s. i am ordering the S22s to see how to stack up against the M9s

    M9rr is my tyre of choice I can't really fault it other than a bit of extra life would be good.Road looks like duncton hill nice if you can manage to ride it on a very rare traffic free occasion perhaps the same day you've had your unicorns horn polished

      To be honest, either. I prefer the S22 characteristics. M9 drops in faster but they both perform pretty much the same.

      @@BikeLikeMike92 Gotcha, but what about the s22 characteristics do you prefer? I always use S22 and love them, and basically never want to change. However I am interested in the m9rr as well.
      Do they both offer the same grip for example for wheelies and aggressive corners?

    • @BikeLikeMike92
      @BikeLikeMike92  Рік тому +4

      I feel like I have more precision on the s22, the grip level to me on the road was the same, no slip from either during wheelies. Aggressive corners. If you go to 8:20 on this video I’m on s22 and both bikes in front on M9RR:
      ua-cam.com/video/XNcauldtXwE/v-deo.html
      Try the M9’s! You may prefer them, you’ve also got Michelin power 5s to think about too! Very highly rated.

      @@BikeLikeMike92 Wow nice video. Thanks a lot. I ordered both and will try the M9RR, to see which one I find more. I actually have no complaints whatsoever from the s22, just want to see if the grass is greener on the Metzeler. The S22 is my comfort zone by far as they have always proven to take me through corners and everything with confidence.

      @BikeLikeMike92  Рік тому +2

      I would say you can get 3.5 to 4k miles out of both S22 and M9RR. Depending on how you ride. They aren’t the best tyre for longevity but certainly not the worst!

      @@BikeLikeMike92 I see, thanks! My MT-10 came with S22's, and I'm super happy with them. But the tire shop here also sells M9RR's, and they recommended them and claimed they would give about 30% more treadlife. They do cost a bit more though.

Metz have a 100$ mail-in rebate right now, so I went for it. still waiting for installation.

    I will never trust Bridgestones again. the s22 tires that came on my 2022 mt10 have worn in big flat spots and giant cracks in under 4k miles. Sure a flat spot in the rear on an mt10 is typical but the front was at the point where i could not let go of the handlebars without leaning at a 45 degree angle to keep the bike straight in under 2k miles and got worse from there, the rear had deep cracks going to the cords in at least 10 different spots in between the treads. Bad batch? maybe but one bad batch is the difference between life or death on 2 wheels. I will stick with the Metzelers from now on.

    Don’t know if I share your views about the grooves in the tire being purely aesthetic they have everything to do with moving the water out from under your tire
