- Show up at any party with a handful of this for an instant slam dunk! TIP- If you find that you under cooked your bacon, or that some pieces are a bit soft, a quick dip in the microwave one at a time, at 5-10 second pulses does the trick.
By far, the best looking candy bacon on the net!! I'm off to the store to get what I need to try this! Thanks for sharing
Tried this but had to bump up to 375. Also marinated the bacon in Jameson Irish Whiskey for about an hour. 👌🏼
👏👏👏
I was getting ready to be a smartass, and simply say wire rack when I seen the bubbling brew you had going on! But I'm stupid what you ended up with looks way better than my wire rack pig candy I've made or seen made. I'm converted I will do it your way from now on. The completely covered non-sticky final product you ended up with looks amazing. Out of everyone I have seen doing this and I have seen alot. You are the only one that I have seen do it this way!!!! Thanks for the video!!!!
Tried this! Followed your directions, turned out absolutely perfect! Thank you!!!
Sweeeet! Good stuff, huh?
Seven years later and I have made this recipe over 15 times.. way better than cooking on a rack like every other recipe tells you too.. I love adding some Smokey flavored rubs to the bacon before the brown sugar.. and the quality of your bacon really really changes how this recipe turns out!
I sprinkled cayenne pepper, to my brown sugar mix!!! Gives it an extra delish kick!!! 😉
Can’t wait to try this. Bacon is one of my true loves. Thank you for this video brother. Any lover of bacon is a friend indeed.
Wait! You dumped all the drippings! The sugar glaze will float on top. Just let it cool a little so the glaze firms up, then pull it off before the fat congeals, and make a pile on a plate. When it cools and hardens it makes sort of a bacon flavored brown sugar taffy. Just take a taste, and then see if you can keep from nibbling until you eat the rest of it. Just bacon fat and sugar. Two of the essential food groups.
My arteries are clogged.... Help...
Put a silicone mat on the tray underneath. Those hardened drippings will peel off even easier. Like fruit leather or hard candy depending on the time and temperature. We are in SOO MUCH trouble here. 🤣🤣🤣
OMG!!! no you didn't , you even got the thick bacon. You go Fencekid. I just happen to run across you watching DIY videos, arts and crafts and I'm so glad I did. Then to see that you canning also wow. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. Stay blessed.
Made it for the first time today! 😋. Had to bump up the temp to 330f but don’t go far - once the temp gets hot enough to candy the sugar it can very easily burn. Happy holidays!!!
Did exactly what you did to a T, but this is the second time mine start off hard but end up on the softer sticky side after fully cooling. What can I do to rectify this? Help.
Hello Fencekid, I just saw your Candied Bacon recipe and they looked and sound delicious. I was wondering how long to cool the bacon in order to get its crispy stage? Will it take an hour or 2 for the bacon after they're done cooking to become crispy? Thank you for sharing your recipe and time.
tryed your candy bacon, the stuff is kill! I followed your direction with no problems. Thanks for the snacks
You can do that with thin bacon wrapped around a little smokies sausage. We nicknamed them "a heart attack on a stick". Secure the wrap with a toothpick. Make a whole lot or you're gonna start a riot.
Pigs in blankets. Traditional UK christmas side dishes
Looks really good, I'm making it right now.
How'd it turn out?
making this as a thank you for the invite... Will be chopping it up and mixing it with cinnamon spiced pecans. I am taking everyone's advice and increasing the temp, and @gozzerd advice to keep the drippings, and my own advice to parchment paper line the cooling tray :) Merry Christmas y'all!
Definitely making these..but medicated...
😮 How!?
Ha, did both versions just now. U gotta make cannasugar then u can make canna-candy bacon
@@tardun Awesome, Thank you so much!
I'll have what he's having!
Damn hes high
Good to see you still making videos. Lovin it.
Someone else asked this question but got no response. How and where do we store the bacon after we've made this delicious receipe? I want to ship mine out of state for Christmas gifts. Does the bacon require special temperature/packaging? or is it really like candy once it's coated??
PULLLLEEEEEZE answer this because this stuff is FANTASTICALLY GOOD!
I don't know how long it would last unrefrigerated or unfrozen. It has never sat around for even a few days without getting eaten. You'd have to run some tests I guess. It should long enough to get through the mail. I'd freeze it until I dropped it in the mail. You should be ok, as long as it's cooked right.
In my version first I soak them in maple syrup (I add little bit of liquid smoke in maple syrup for smoky action) and sprinkle them with brown sugar and little bit of cayenne pepper.
I was wondering about some cayenne
OMG it looks awesome!! Would it be considered a jerky at this point? How long will it keep?
Thanks for the idea! It’s even better out of the smoker!
how do you hancle the ooling rack time!!! i would burn my entire mouth around it and it would be worth it! I can't have sugar anymore but between zero maple syrup and brown sugar replacements I basically make this every other day, too good!!!!!
glad to see fence kid is uploading again. he always makes cool videos
I’m thinking of drizzling a little maple syrup over the bacon too.
I like to use my trager smoker. I put them right on the grates. I cut them up into 1/4’s when they’re still hot. I find people eat more in smaller pieces than if you leave them whole
I cant wait to try this. I am going to make Gluten Free Maple Bacon Dark Chocolate Cookies using my bacon so anyone that would be interested in that then keep an eye on my channel. I will be posting the recipe soon.
Awesome, giving it a try.
Finally . . . Candied Bacon that REALLY IS Crispy; all others, after all the different ways, resulting in wimpy candied bacon, this one works . . .FINALLY!!
Wow, I've seen a few of the sweetened bacon 🥓
This looks soon goid👍🏽
Will give it a shot thanks for the share
Does this need to be refrigerated? If not, about how long will it last?
I would refrigerate... this is pork...
I don't mess around with pork... ;)
this really helped me out making some ty. now the rest of the quiche..
Thanks fencekid. Dope and easy recipe
Wow this looks amazing I have never heard of don't ng this before but it's deff goin to be a must. I'll prob at a bit of smoke n spice with the sugar
It just works so much better on an oven rack. Let's learn as we go in life.
Thanks! Always look forward to your videos.
Always good to see your videos
This guy is my long lost uncle, super cool videos!
This is definitely the best candied bacon instructions I've come across so far. :) But I'm still running into the issue where the bacon comes out sticky rather than with a nice hard crunch. Attempting to let it off steam in the oven just results in it burning, or does nothing at all. ;_; Help?
Looks delicious , I'm going to make this....
What a cool ass idea!!! Gotta try this!!
Yummy....that looks good a must do!
I have tried this twice and I can’t seem to get that hard candy texture that you do. It’s almost hard, but it’s still a little tacky. Also is there a trick to get the excess grease off the bacon after it’s cooled?
Put the bacon on a paper towel..
but you shouldn't have that problem,... if it is on a rack, the
air should be all around the bacon... Hum?
i add a sprinkle of cayenne pepper to the sugar. trust me comrades, delicious.
misternineham i love you Seth Rogen
FUK KEM540 idk anyone who would be proud of that but ok 🤷🏾♂️
Id like to thank you regardless of your political views, il def give it a shot
does this store well? short term or long term?
How long do you let them sit and cool before you dig in?
yours is the fastest, everybody else pre cooks, take it out, put it back in , take it back out, put it back in the oven, so tedious...i'm gonna do it your way. Yours is prettier than most too.
I add real maple syrup and sprinkle a touch of cayenne red pepper flakes for a little “kick” and it’s amazing! THANK YOU for this great video though! Very well done! It helped a lot!
Do you think we could make this with cocoa powder if we dont have chocolate? if so, how much
Watching this while eating 9 strips of bacon with maple syrup dip. Mmmmerica
I love all your video I especially love the forge videos
I usually mix my brown sugar with whiskey believe me try it
I will defend to the death your right to say whatever the fuck you want but you’re wrong, any one putting sugar in their whisky should be taken out back and shot. Kids today.
My favourite is Brown Sugar, Cayenne Pepper Powder, Cinnamon Powder with a half a cup Jack Daniels Single Barrel, so good.
How do you do it please?
A "BIG" thumbs up :-) We will have to give this a try :-) ROCK ON!!!!!!!
Always trust the guy with the pinky ring.
I've been doing this all wrong! thanks!
Excellent thank you
Did you use light or dark brown sugar?
You can use either. Taste is not really much different
Hey, do you still sell coin rings? I'd like to get hold of one if possible
Making UA-cam great again.
Should use a rack bro. Waited till the end. I stand corrected they look the sheet
Have some videos been deleted ?

King kurtis brought me here
I want some ejected a pork butt with brown sugar apple cider and cure then cold smoked it in January Outdoors over Hickory maple and Applewood for 20 hours. Then just brought it up the temperature to sterilize and glaze a little bit more. That was the best candy ass I ever tasted
Wow!
Wish you would make more videos, thought maybe you went aol.
I'm going through swinegasim! 🐷🐖💜

Chef boy ar d.
after you do that dip them in chocolate
Wheres the bourbon 😉
Oven @ 400 for me
Wrong! I go from raw to crispy finished candied bacon in 15 minutes! No brown sugar! Pure maple only! No bake! Fry and candy.
I tried doing it your way tonight; it was the BOMB! Easy Peasy; No Mess and in a whole lot less time and “fuss”! I used a nonstick skillet. I tried the plain maple syrup to start with, just to see how things turn out, then just added some other spices and Cayenne Pepper to the leftover syrup and add more syrup as need and “Voila”, it was magically delicious and top of the taste, it was crispy, Truly Candied Bacon! Next time, I am pulling out my 12” nonstick skillet! Thank you so much for sharing such a simple method.
HOLY HECK
wtf :D
