Hi Sara. First time seeing one of your videos. I like it! You seem a bit nervous. But that's to be expected. I know i couldn't do it at all. So kudos to you. I love to color my own glass. The colored I've gotten in stores are so pale. It only takes a few minutes and you can get any degree of the color you want. Ive also broken up my own glass but it's a pain. I have a small jar that's designated for coloring glass. I find it easier to shake than to stir. Lol (lazy??) 😂😂🤣 This video is a great way to show how to stick with a project if it doesn't work out the first time. Working with the glass makes it easier to correct areas you're not crazy about. I had a 18x24 board for a geode piece (only the 3rd I'd attempted) Anyway. that piece finally worked out after several layers of resin. Dang thing ended up weighing 10lbs!!! Lol. Floetrol does not make cells, btw. I know alot of people think so. But its actually (mostly) how you move the paint. A swipe will not be celless. For instance. Floetrol might make a few cells versus just water. I'll post a picture of a piece i just did in the comments under this in the group acrylic pitstop...Its only paint and floetrol. Common misconception. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Sorry so long. Lol. I talk alot too.😊😊😊
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me 😊 and yes, you use fluid acrylic paint. Now, I used gloss varnish to seal the painting and set/adhere all of the glitter & crushed glass in place, but if you intend to hang it in a bathroom that has a shower, then I would suggest that you use resin instead of varnish because resin is waterproof and varnish is not. It's water RESISTANT, but not fully waterproof. Moisture & humidity (like from a shower) can cause damage to canvas paintings, so resin would offer it the best protection against those elements. But there are a LOT of safety precautions that MUST be followed & specific PPE that MUST be worn when working with resin, and most brands of resin are guaranteed to yellow over time which will obviously affect the look of your painting. Varnish is non-yellowing though. So these are all really important factors to consider when deciding what products you'd rather use with your art.
@Fluid Expressions Wow! I cannot thank you enough for the tips! I'm scared and excited at the same time to give this a try. Thank you again so much, and when I try it, I will definitely send you a picture!!
So pretty! I live the crushed glass accents and the tip about the alcohol ink is perfect!!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you liked it! 🙂
FABULOUS 💜💙💜💙💜💙

This is truly amazing! You are very talented. I would love to try to make one for my bathroom. Is it acrylic paint that I use?

You're welcome and I would love to see a picture when you're done! Good luck!
What is the name of the stuff that you're using to dye the crushed glass.
Alcohol ink
You added some sort of glitter at the end that gave it more sparkle. What was that?
I explain what it is, where I got it from, and show a picture of it between 23:22-24:30 🙂
Was that glitter or crushed glass that you used at the end?
It was crushed glass
I’m only seeing black. I can hear you.
I'm not sure why because there's nothing wrong with the video
