  • Create Gorgeous results with this acrylic pouring technique. I recommend keeping your color selection to a minimum of 3-4 colors to start. The key is not to mix the paints to thin/watery. You can see in the video that my paints are on the thicker side, some even appear clumpy when poured. Lastly, don't over tilt and loose the best parts of your painting (take time to step back and look, then tilt some more).

The one that ended at around 9:20 I would call "The River and the Sea". I've gotta start painting again. I miss it.

What would a normal water to paint ratio be? Maybe the artist doesn’t want to share this info, would really like to try this without using a pouring medium…

I'm not sure what the ratio is, but start off with a small amount. Do the drip test, where it drips and holds form for about a second, then flattens out. If it holds form for longer than that then add a little more water. Repeat until you get the desired affect. If you add too much water and it's just runny, it takes a lot of paint to thicken it up. Also, too much water and you run the risk of the paint cracking as it dries. You can also google, "Paint Pour ratios " and you should get a few "recipes" to pick from.
      Happy painting

Hello from the US and Thank You for watching! Any brand of paint that has a nice thick body will work just as well. The only paint that I avoid is the "Ready Pour Paints" those tend to be to watery for optimum results.

This is a paint pour technique that mixes paint with water to thin. This isn’t the type where you mist water onto the canvas or onto paint. 😊
