Thank you so much!!!. I was about to throw my sr7500 away when I fortunately came across your comment about the standby PCB. I heated that PCB with a hair dryer, and it woke up! :) (It was entering standby mode on power on, and also showing a "check pow5" error from time to time.)
Glad I could help!
This is a fantastic video. Thank you so much!
My SR8001 receiver has been collecting dust for many years due to the POW5 error (won't start up). I did lots of research and wanted to fix it, but I was afraid of dissembling the receiver. Now I learned how to do that after watching your video. I will give it a try.
I have same issue 🙁 (POW5). So far I have tried resoldering most solder joints on the the amp board, and (as *this* video suggests) resoldering the standby power board. Still have POW5 error though.
There's so many capacitors inside, I thought surely I'd find some bulged caps but so far all the caps seem fine 🤷.
If I find a fix I'll post it here. Please post your results here too, ok?
@@roidroid sure, I will share my findings. In fact, several months ago, I replaced two 5v regulators (KIA 378 RO5P), and it immediately worked for two months. Then the POW5 error came back again. I guess the regulators problem is just a result, but not the root cause. I will dissemble the whole receiver and dig further. Will post my findings here.
@@guangfalu1684 Maybe those regulators need just small radiators? If there was some big error then those regulators would fail in two hours, not two months powered all the time.
@@guangfalu1684 any update by chance?
Excellent demo Thanos 😉😉
Thank you very much for watching!
Zeer interessante videos en leerrijke Technische uitleg😊😊
I don't understand what is written here, but I hope it's something positive.
Thank you very much. I am fixing it this month and your video is quite useful for me.
Great to hear!
i want lot of video such like this thankyou so much
More on the way!
Thanks for the video
Enjoy your work.
How about a current review of the Marantz SR7200
Sorry, but not at this moment, next in line is AV8805A then other few videos which are in pre-production stage.
Just got an SR7500 from the thrift, and followed this video to fix the unresponsive front knobs. Much appreciated! Just curious, what did you do about the dim screen? Seems like mine is dimmer in certain areas, but don't know where to start.
I wish you would have shown it before and after it was cleaned with the shroud off. Still a great video
Next time!
Very helpful video, thank you🫲🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Bit surprised there is no active cooling, that would explain why a lot of components are a bit fried... Great stuff.
Usually Marantz is not using active cooling in their Receivers.
Oh, and thanks for watching!
@@boredtech Considering state of the internal components they probably should. I thought that most mid/ high end receivers would have active cooling, mine certainly do.
Thanks for making this video's, fascinating how this stuff is put together.
If they had active cooling, they could put a filter on the fan inlet and eliminate the dust problem. Oh well.
Good information sir
Excellent video and explanation !
Thanks, really appreciate it!
Hi, just been looking for some info on SR7500 and came across you territorial on this device, I’d like to try and use it as a power-amp as my power amp stopped working, I at the moment I cannot afford to have it fitted, I have a NAD 314 preamp. Which I would like to plug it in to the back of the SR 7500 , After all that my question is where would you recommend plugging into in what channel I want to use the NAD as obviously the premium so I can change between CD tape record phono et cetera, And I’ve just opened the lid up like you have done must be at least two or three mil thick of dust inside it I’m hoping the thing is okay if you can just advise me please about whether to plug in the preamp.
Phil from the moulin. Sorry I forgot to mention I living in France and have problems communicating with people in the shops regarding repairs and stuff like that.
I used my Marantz SR7500 as an amplifier (selecting the 7.1 input mode). It worked fine, the only problem was the volume control, as I had to adjust the volume on my AV7705 and on SR7500, that was a bit annoying as my remote control was messing with the volume of both units at the same time. But if you will use NAD as the preamp it shouldn't be a problem.
@@boredtech Hi 👋, I have not tried the remote yet needs new Batteries, Since I have sent you a message I have wide the NAD into it and it seems to work fine apart from it does get quite hot so I’ve got a small cooling fan sitting on the top suck in the air out now seems to run a lot better.
I did however open it up and I was surprised about the amount of dust that was inside it it must’ve been nearly 3 to 4 mil thick so I got my trusty air compressor and blew all the muck out of it I can’t believe how much was in there, I think it was a good job I did it otherwise I believe that could’ve caught on fire, I have been looking at Roksan K3 and NAD C298, Hopefully Santa will drop one of these down the chimney at Christmas to time for me, thank you for your reply and hope. Phil from the moulin France.
16:57 thats why i use dimmer function right out of the box of my every pioneer receivers. Becoz my earlier yamaha receiver's vfd gone dim after 5 years of usage.
@Jeremy Kenneth 🙄 irrelevant
Very interesting... Are you going to reassemble it?
It’s already reassembled. And it’s even no spare parts left 🤣🤣🤣
Do you think this amplifier will still work with only analog in and speaker out boards and everything else is removed? I already have one 7500 but want to use two 7500's to make a 7 zone multiroom amplifier in 1 casing. I want to remove all other components as all I need is analog in and speaker out.
I had similar thoughts. But it won’t work without main cpu which controls boot up sequence. I believe that you can find off the shelve controller PCB and program it. But do you really want to invest so much effort?
I have this same unit, Unfortunately, it is in protected mode whenever the volume is tuned high with or without speakers. Is there a way to bysspa that protection relay? Many thanks,
What is the impedance of your speakers? Is it below 6 ohms?
Hello. What do you think I should change caps in amp? Are they bad? I have changed caps in power psb, the were bulged.
It's hard to advise something without knowing all the details. But if you think that yours capacitors doesn't looking right, you should find someone who can take a professional look at your amplifier.
Thank you. Do you know the brand of blue caps?
Hello! Can you tell me what rating bears the fuse on STANDBY board (F801), mine has blown and I'm not sure what rating it was, as I'm suspecting someone put the wrong rating fuse. Thanks!
fuse at 22:11 on standby board
@@MrLaskez99 it says on the PCB in the video, you can read it.
When I take my fuse out to look at it, it says T5A L 250V
Sad this doesn't have the full copper chassis like some of the earlier 2000 era AVRs.
They made the chassis out of COPPER? That's nuts, sounds needlessly expensive.
What are the 2 amps per channel do?
I'm not sure If I can understand your question.
It might be to enable the output to be bipolar: both positive and negative voltage.
(Instead of just positive & GND)
Does this model allow you to adjust the bass and treble tone without using the remote control??
Pardon?
@@afistfulofpimples1745 Does this model allow you to adjust the bass and treble tone without using the remote control??
@deekay2 Yes you can manually go through the menu using the panel buttons. I have done it
@@afistfulofpimples1745 Step by step, what buttons to push?
@deekay2 please go to internet, search for marantz sr7500 manual, and look at the manual, it will show you
I have yamaha rx v583. An "internal error" message is appearing. What went wrong ?
Hi, thanks for your comment, unfortunately I never came across with any of Yamaha products. Try to find official technical support telephone or email on Yamaha website.
@@boredtech yes contacted and they replied it DSP board required replacement and demand a heft amount so got new Aventage series AV receiver. Thanks 😊
@@amjadali-tv3si You should have given it to a decent technician around your area. Official service shops are full of nonsense 7 out of 10 times, they charge crazy money, it takes them weeks and you will never know what they fixed compared to what they said was wrong. Plus the postage back and forth. I'm amazed people seem to be so stuck with the official service solution.
because my marantz sr - 7500 doesn't turn on it doesn't do anything I'm waiting for a response
No response
Your priace
I'm afraid it's not for sale.
I have a SR7500 in black, Remote & original owners manual ,, immaculate !! What's it worth ?
@@GatesRapes I don't know Dave, you tell us, what's it worth?
