    Okay, just found you guys. You two are like listening to Tim (my husband) and I but funnier... We are much more serious and boring. 😂 I design and help with some of the engineering, much like you. But mostly its all Tim, with me telling him what we need. We have a 2014 Winnebago Trend we got this spring and have been busy remodeling, with my required interior stuff. It's been fun, and we are not done, because we will eventually add solar so we can boondock, at some point. Thanks for sharing! This is great!

    Drying rack is way cool. My idea for your stained glass, a sun with a tombstone. appropriate, yes? Your cherry wood will darken and redden with time. I watch a channel for a woodworker, and his cherry always darkens with time, it is just beautiful. I hope yours looks as good. Amazing job you're doing on the build. Love it. Thanks. :)

    • @1982MCI
      @1982MCI 5 років тому

      Jan Ambrose actual cherry wood will darken from the UV rays but maple plywood with a cherry stain will stay looking the same as when you finished it. Just because it’s a cherry color stain doesn’t mean you’ve transformed it into actual cherry, your just cheating on the price. I’ve been a cabinet maker for years and a cherry stained cabinet has never darkened for us.
      He did a fantastic job tho on the cabinets. Made it look like he’s been doing it for 30 years!!!

    G’day Mike and Kerry great job I know from experience that putting overhead cupboards up is not an easy job and what you have achieved with the kitchen is terrific, you both put a lot planning into how you were going to do it and the overall functionality of the kitchen. When you’ve completed the fit out it would have to be one of the nicest schoolies around, good idea with the double sink Kerry and great buy thanks again for sharing the build again it’s really lovely how your working on her together, kind regards John

    Mike if you add another wire rack on top of the plates that is not fixed at the front it will hold the top of the plates and when you travel they wont rattle also if you choose to leave the plates in the rack it will open more cupboard space up for you.

    I just love you two!!! The best part is you share the entire build and all the quirks that make you two unique and special!!! So an idea I’ve had is if you routed out a juice groove on your cutting board, that’d help prevent spills, possibly even drill a hole in the center for easy draining with a wooden plug for when it’s being used to chop messy tomatoes, etc. but my other thought is to install drawer slides or make wooden tracks (for removing to wash) but that way it’s out of the way, but in a convenient pull out drawer for as needed use. That and it’d be hidden among all of your other drawers! My last thought is instead of regular cabinet fronts for the uppers, why not make them sliding doors so during traveling you won’t need to lock up your doors? I’m not criticizing whatsoever, just some thoughts as I’m watching this for the hundredth time ;) lmao. I did see another builder implement curvy uppers with the sliding door concept and it seemed so appropriate for the purpose of his travel trailer. Obviously though you two have blown everyone else out of the water... seriously! The natural wood that’s light and airy and soft with the brilliant layout using closet cabinets to wall in essentially your bed/bedroom for a cozy nook feel and then into the bathroom and the amount of space and plus on its own seems cozy and private. Of course my favorite is the main living space plus a kitchen that houses seating/fold down bed etc etc! So recently I saw a popular builder build a kitchenette for his buddy’s travel trailer and this would be just perfect for you two!... he used scrap ply or 1x3’s and ripping all edges with a 45 degree bevel he created his own but similar take on Laura Kampf’s scrap wood subway tile backsplash! Omg it’d be perfect with your look and like they both did, stain your wooden tiles (the face only) in a color maybe even lightly paint just the fronts and it creates a gorgeous subway tile with the beautiful edges exposed leaving a grout like effect!!! Lol too much time I have apparently but at this point I’m emotionally invested in your schooly build adventure and would love to add too it lol 🤦🏽‍♀️ pls don’t stop when this project is finished!!! I hope you build yourself a travel trailer and then a tiny house in the mountains or on a beach, what I mean is I’ll be sad the day you guys quit filming your builds

    Hi Mike, Hi Kerry, Kerry I think you are right about the upper cabinets being harder to fit, but we are talking about Mike fitting yours and so far nothing has beaten the pair of you in this build and after watching you both fit yours you will have given a lot of people the means to fit theirs.. Once again Kerry a great video and a lovely kitchen and I love that door, sorry I havent put a comment about the colour or design of the window but I am not that good at that sort of thing.. Anyway looking forward to the next one and your progress.. Take care both of you, see you again soon...

    That narrow space you have TV trays In is the perfect space for a slide in/out spice rack.. Many RVs have them, wouldn’t be to hard to source the parts.. Just a thought 😎

    • @BussyMcBusface
      @BussyMcBusface  5 років тому +1

      Initially, that was the design. But after looking at it we decided we didn't want to have to kneel down to see the spices. With that in mind the spice rack will be right in her face in the upper cabinet on the right hand side with some cool slide outs and features making it easier to find all the spices.

    • @ZeRowe

  • @Tripsolo65

    Mike, a small removable nylon bungee across the dishrack about halfway up might be prudent as well for travel. Also, don't know your plans for cabinet doors, BUUUUTTT, if you make them lift up you can attach magnets as knobs and they will latch to the roof of the bus and look clean. If you put stained or anything in that pirate window cool and heat can't pass s freely. Now, if yall ain't careful, yall is gunna finish that bus, then what is we gunna do? Great job yall!
