    One of the best explanations of the HSL workflow. Thank You for this excellent video.

    Very helpful video and your approach of using HSL as LSH is an inspiring way to add color contrast. Thanks

    There is an "eyedropper" in this tab you have used before, why not now. I personally like to use the eyedropper; however it is sometimes more effective to use the slider to find "hidden" colors. Keep up the good work.

      @altern8ive 3 роки тому +1

      A problem I've run into using the dropper though is it can create banding as LR uses the pixel (or possibly a small average of pixels) selected by the dropper, whereas the slider covers a wider parameter of pixels within the color group and minimizes banding.

    Very helpful - especially the sequence. Thanks.

    Your explanation on the use of the HSL/Color tab is the best I have seen, great video. I usually start off with Luminance, then Saturation and finish off with Hue if required.

    Thank you Anthony. Great to be reminded of my preferences in L/r as far as separating colours, hue, I very seldom touch saturation. It’s great to hear your ideas and I respect your knowledge and teaching.

    I click the “Auto” button first. Adobe has really improved that function over the course of the last few years. I will then start the workflow you mentioned. (Sorry to hear that you failed kindergarten. 😂😂)

      I thought I was the only one who used "Auto" first. Although I use shortcut keys. Makes my workflow go faster and smoother. I don't like using the mouse alot. It takes my eyes off what I'm doing, watching the cursor.

    very helpful, and I like your luminance first workflow, that makes sense to me. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out how to split tone, thanks for the enlightenment. so much fun to learn new tools

    Excellent. First thing I do, is look at the histogram and if there's unused (by pixels) space along the X-axis on the left side, I'll adjust the black point, or if there's unused Z-axis on the right side, I'll adjust the white point. This may already give more pop and this alters the range available to you in the exposure sliders.

    • @jpdj2715

      Z-axis is a typo and must be X-axis

    Be careful when you're being that aggressive with changing the luminance though, it is very easy to introduce weird artifacts by doing that.
    I recommend a light touch when you're messing with any of these sliders.

    If you can't tell if the image is being adjusted by a color slider, just watch the histogram. It's a more localized representation.
