I follow a 3 notebook system as well, very similar to yours: 1 for on the go notes and reflections, and a separate one for big thoughts that doesn't leave home. The third is my agenda (I still use a physical notebook). I'll use google calendar for business meetings but my finances and time are controlled in a single small weekly agenda that I carry around with me all the time. I like your little commonplace book for keeping up with your reading, I'll be adding it to my system! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for sharing your setup as well. I'm trying hard to get away from digital task management and get into a nice weekly or daily planner. Have not managed to find a way that works for me, alas I'll keep trying!
Journaling is awesome. I am a mental health therapist and the clients that take to journaling always seem to do better (probably a big part is then doing their emotional work through journaling outside of session) and it’s a lot of fun doing leatherwork together making their journal. We make a very similar style to your third one.
That's great to hear! I actually got my start in journaling when I started mental health services pre-covid. I struggled with it over the years, at least being consistent. One thing my counselors never told me was to make my own system, but instead just to journal. Today, I love journaling for many things!
My system is about similar to yours. A passport sized Traveler's notebook style EDC, another, larger journal at home, but the third one is my planner/calendar. I also have a couple other more specific notebooks like my reading journal but those three are my basic set.
A calendar is where I’d like to go next. I’ve tried planners and calendars that are not digital, but I’ve been unsuccessful. I feel like it’s similar to my journaling, once I figure out what I like, it will work.
Thank you! I have to be honest about that...it's my wife's sticker book for her junk journaling. It was the closest book to me while recording that bit. Nonetheless, it has some really cool artwork!
I really like the Larger Notebook - I believe you said your friend made it for you. Any chance they make it professionally? Thanks for the Video! I keep trying to find the “Perfect Notebook” that works in ALL scenarios and it just simply does not exist….
He's got a couple social media pages (423 Leather) on Facebook and Instagram, and his email is 423leather@gmail.com. I am trying to message him to see if that's still accurate. I agree that the "perfect notebook" does not exist.
Thanks for letting me know about the audio issue, I'll look into that! It was my first time using this mic in a while. There's a little screen I can put in front of it called a "pop filter." It helps to cut down on the pops when saying words that start with P.
If you would like to purchase one of Brad's journal covers you can get them here: www.etsy.com/shop/woodsybalmsleather/

Very cool and glad I got to run into this video. I thought that mini journal came from Brad! I just did a video on one he sent to me, too.

Great use cases Chad! Cool notebooks too!
Thanks! I really like having a system for each type of note.
Nice. Thank you

Not sure what the solution is but when you say your P’s it hurts my ears when wearing headphones. Great video otherwise
