    Dr please make a video on when do you need MRI or not for staging and is it necessary in every case to do a MRI scan for distant diagnose of the cancer. Thank you

    If you take steroids you gain weight . A few light exercise ms eat well . Gut meds and flora etc and WBC count booster and a lot of rest a little Erik . Not feel frightened
    I am 74.5 yrs . Eat balance and all this above is what I am doing and I had neoplastic adjuent biologics combined targeted treatment yesterday I have no acid no pain and no cravings so except for gut meds I am not taking steroids ( with doctors okay and no other meds . They asked me to take pain killers but since I do not have I am not taking . Dies the pain come after 48 hours .
    Thus was my first and a very initial stage ductsl carcinoma . This treatment shrinks it and then they take it out without disfiguring !

    Interesting article. I am into year 2 of taking tamoxifen having had surgery and radiotherapy in 2020.
    I have packed on a lot of weight around my stomach and despite regular exercise (aquafit x 3 per week) and watching my diet, nothing seems to change. Should I ask for different medication?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  Рік тому

      The alternatives to tamoxifen are the aromatase inhibitors, which only work if someone does not have functioning ovaries. It is probably worth asking your medical team if tamoxifen is important for your survival vs. just for decreasing the risk of cancer coming back in the involved breast.

    I don’t want surgery for my DCIS stage 0” grade || and I would like a different treatment like a cryoablation or radio frequency therapy of the reason not sparing me the nipple or areola on lumpectomy surgery. Don’t want plastic reconstruction and don’t want get mutilated with this old conventional treatment. What do you suggest? Thanks!

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  Рік тому +1

      Surgery is the only certain way to treat DCIS unless you are in a clinical trial of treatment given in place of surgery. If the area is small enough, it is unlikely that you'll experience disfigurement. I know this must be a hard decision. Wishing you the best.

    Hi I'm continuing to lose weight although it's been nearly 5 months since chemo stopped. I'm on tamoxifen and phesgo (herceptin) for Her2+, oestrogen and progesterone+, it had just spread to one sentinel lymph node, but they didn't do a full body scan so a bit concerned.

      @yerbba  Рік тому

      It's understandable that you're concerned. Let your medical team know about your weight loss. It is quite uncommon to lose weight with adjuvant chemotherapy, particularly when you have finished a while ago. There are other causes of weight loss that can be evaluated.
